Sean Strickland doesn’t think too highly of women’s mixed martial arts or reigning two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes.

No week would be complete without middleweight contender Sean Strickland doling out his own brand of wisdom. After sharing his rather disgusting take on the passing of amateur mixed martial artist Shalie Lipp, the California native is once again turning his attention toward women in combat sports. Specifically general consensus WMMA GOAT Amanda Nunes. In a sit-down interview with fellow UFC standout Chris Curtis, Strickland compared ‘The Lioness’ to Street Fighter character Blanca, and not in a flattering way.

“Nunes is that big girl right? Brazilian chick, she kind of looks like the thing in Street Fighter,” Strickland said. “No? A little bit, a little bit… Blanca, the thing with the arms that’s, like, a big forehead. Yeah, she has like multiple arms, dude” (h/t MMA News).

‘Tarzan’ did not stop there, suggesting that women will always take a backseat to men in combat sports.

“If you go on YouTube right now and you have an option between watching two random guys fight and two chicks fight that’ve never trained, are you gonna watch the two a**holes fight who’ve never trained or are you gonna watch the two chicks fight who’ve never trained? You want to see two men fight,” Strickland continued.

Sean Strickland Discredits Amanda Nunes’ Power Before Her Return to the Octagon at UFC 289

Before wrapping up another ignorant take, Sean Strickland managed to circle back to Amanda Nunes, taking a shot at the Brazilian’s power compared to that of the average male fighter.

“I mean, here’s the thing man, there are some great women fights but it’s, like, f*cking you know, it’s like you know who’s like even if you take a small champion, a small champion could go f*ck up an NFL player… Now, you take Amanda Nunes, and you have her go fight an NFL linebacker, the linebacker is gonna be like, ‘Did I just feel wind hit my face?’”

Amanda Nunes was originally scheduled to close out her trilogy with former champion Julianna Pena at UFC 289 on June 10. The ‘Venezuelan Vixen’ was forced to withdraw due to an injury, paving the way for Irene Aldana to step up and take her spot in the highly anticipated headliner. The event will emanate from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

[ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED SEPTEMBER 19, 2015, 2:32 PM]

For a while now, the idea of a Ronda Rousey versus Floyd Mayweather fight of some kind has intrigued casual fans. They’re similarly sized, Rousey is amazingly dominant against other women, Mayweather is hated for his history of domestic abuse and being unrepentant about it, Mayweather is “just a boxer” while Rousey is a mixed martial artist, etc. Of course, it would never, ever happen in real life for a number of reasons, the most obvious one being that no athletic commission would ever sanction any kind of man vs. woman fight.

Game designer Richie Branson found a way to have some fun and give everyone a little taste of what they want. In the legendary Street Fighter series of video games, man vs. woman fights are common, and the legacy female fighters (especially Chun-Li) are hugely popular among the fanbase. These days, a lot of PC games have enthusiastic fans known as modders who modify all sorts of things and release add-ons that can affect just about anything from graphics to sounds to gameplay. So what Branson did was dig around in the PC version of Street Fighter IV, and play with the graphics to make something approximating Floyd Mayweather vs. Ronda Rousey.

Here’s what Branson wrote in his YouTube post (video embedded at the top of the article) showing off his work:

Well, now we know who would win if Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey fought. I got bored and decided to play around with some texture files in my PC installation of Street Fighter IV. The result is this Mayweather vs. Rousey mod, lol. To eliminate bias, i simulated the Mayweather v. Rousey fight with both fighters controlled by the CPU. I’ll be making these edited skins available over the weekend! Special thanks to Ayiep27, and Farcryer.

[VIDEO] Anderson Silva Brought to Tears by Fight Fixing Allegations

(Video via TVHDBrazil’s Youtube page)

Some things in life are better left unexamined. A recent Brazilian television interview with former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva reminds us of that.

As far as topics that should be left alone, we’re not talking about the ridiculous idea that Silva may have intentionally let himself get brutally knocked out by Chris Weidman a few weeks ago. Silva did indeed get asked about that by the television show host and you can see his emotional response in the video above.

I’m no Portuguese speaker but Silva definitely does mention feeling that when he fights he is representing Brazil and all Brazilians and that he’d never throw a fight. As he discusses this, he gets choked up and sheds a few tears before being embraced by applause from the studio audience and literally by the host.

But, like we said, that’s not the sensitive topic that should be avoided. No, what we’re not sure should ever be spoken of or probed into is – what/who the heck is the anorexic, half naked, full-body painted green and fire red-haired thing over Silva’s shoulder in the video? For that matter, why is their another shirtless dude just standing behind Silva as well?

Even asking the questions makes us uncomfortable so we’ll leave it alone. Unless you, dear readers, would like to theorize what in tarnation is going on with those weirdos on the South American variety show.

Poorly cast Street Fighter character impersonators? Anderson Silva’s new body guards? Some type of esoteric protest of the World Cup and Olympics? Your guess is as good as ours.

MMA in the Wild Pt. 2: Off-Duty Ninja Gives Pair of Brothers Fair Warning Before Unleashing Hell

In our first installment of MMA in the Wild, we observed the fighting patterns of the HillBillyetica DipShiticus, a creature that used Facebook chicanery and a surprisingly diverse striking attack to display his dominance as alpha male of the porch-dwelling, slack-jawed humanoid tribe. In today’s installment, we will witness a beast of an entirely different nature (puns!), known henceforth as the Ninjitsu Ballisticus. Combining the hidden rage of the World of Warcraft freak out kid with the technical striking abilities of a young Cung Le, Ballisticus does not head into the wild seeking a fight, and will only resort to such primitive methods of solving a dispute when his back is against a wall.

But when his back is against the wall, prepare for hell, because he will hit you with such force that both a visible dust cloud will appear on impact and THE GUILE THEME SONG WILL BE EXPELLED FROM THE HEAVENS.

And just as quickly as he thrashes you to and fro like some kind of child’s play thing, he will declare that “He didn’t come to the river for this shit!” before vanishing back into the trees. The Ninjitsu Ballisticus, ladies and gentlemen.

Awesome Video of the Day: How to Beat Anderson Silva

(Video courtesy of YouTube/Videosemgeral1)

Here we thought that it was going to take a guy with a solid wrestling base who could put Anderson on his back to grind out a decision win over “The Spider.” Apparently all it takes to beat Silva is a solid Hadouken.

Maybe that’s why he and Machida have a pact that they’ll never fight each other.

Props to reader Danny Nishida from Brazil for the find.
