On Saturday night, boxing fans were treated to the fight of the decade as Errorl Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford stepped into the squared circle for a showdown that many fans never expected to see. Spence, the WBC, WBA, and IBF welterweight champion, walked into the bout riding a 28-0 record while his opponent and reigning WBO king, Terence Crawford, stepped inside the ring riding a stunning 39-0 record.
In the early going, Spence came out immediately attempting to put pressure on Crawford. That turned out to be a mistake as Crawford’s lightning speed and brilliant counterstriking stymied Spence’s game plan every step of the way. In the second round, Crawford landed a solid right power jab that sat Spence down.
Through the next five rounds, Crawford would begin to take over, putting his speed on display. In round seven, things began to look especially sketchy for Spence as he hit the mat, but once, but twice. Swelling in Spence’s eye prompted the ringside physician to take a look in between rounds, but the fight was allowed to continue.
It was all downhill from there as Crawford landed a big right hand in the ninth. With Spence on wobbly legs, Crawford moved in for the kill and unleashed a flurry of strikes. When it was apparent that Spence could no longer intelligently defend himself, the referee had no choice, but to step in and call for the stoppage.
Official Result: Terrance Crawford def. Errol Spence Jr. via TKO at 2:32 of Round 9

Former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion, and recent PFL (Professional Fighters League) signing, Francis Ngannou, has been warned about the potential pursuit of a professional boxing debut against former WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder by decorated gold holder, Terence Crawford, with the Batié native warned about a potential devastating KO loss.
Ngannou, a ruthless knockout artist in his own right, has been sidelined from combat sports since January of last year, most recently headlining UFC 270 against former interim heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane – successfully unifying the titles in a unanimous decision win over the Frenchman.
Electing to depart the UFC in January of this year following the completion of his contractual obligations with the promotion, Ngannou penned terms on a monumental deal with the Peter Murray-led PFL earlier this month.
And expected to remain sidelined from mixed martial arts until next year, Cameroonian heavyweight, Francis Ngannou is slated to switch focus to a long-rumored debut in the squared-circle – eyeing fights against the likes of the above-mentioned, Wilder, current champion, Tyson Fury, and former gold holder, Anthony Joshua.
Francis Ngannou issued real warning ahead of expected boxing debut
However, according to welterweight kingpin, the undefeated, Crawford, Ngannou would be wise to avoid a fight with Wilder in the future – warning him of a potential brutal knockout loss he could be on the receiving end of.
“If he (Deontay Wilder) hits you, you’re going to sleep,” Terence Crawford told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour while discussing Francis Ngannou. “Deontay Wilder, he hits you, you’re going to sleep. Tyson Fury, he went to sleep and woke up. I don’t see too many other guys doing that. Deontay Wilder is one of the biggest punchers ever, so just keep that in mind.”
Winning undisputed UFC heavyweight gold back in March 2021, Ngannou landed the undisputed title with a thunderous second round KO win over Stipe Miocic, avenging a prior decision loss to the Ohio veteran.

Boxing superstar Terence Crawford will make his long-awaited return to the ring this Saturday. He takes on Israil Madrimov for the WBA Super Welterweight Championship and the vacant WBO Interim World Super Welterweight Championship at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
While all eyes will be on the main event, fans are also excited about the matchups on the undercard. One of the anticipated bout will feature Andy Ruiz Jr. facing Jarrell Miller in an interesting heavyweight contest
Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Jarrell Miller
Ruiz Jr. returns to the boxing ring after nearly two years of absence from competition. His last fight was a unanimous decision win against Luis Ortiz on September 4, 2022. Since then, he’s been looking for a big fight with Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, or even his former rival Anthony Joshua. In addition to being unsuccessful in securing a fight with another heavyweight superstar, Ruiz Jr.’s inactivity has removed him from title opportunities.
The comeback fight against Miller will test whether the former champion can still threaten the rest of the division. That said, “Big Baby” isn’t an easy opponent to return against. Although Miller lost his fight against Daniel Dubious by TKO on December 23, 2023, he had moments where he hurt the current IBF World Heavyweight Champion.
DraftKings currently has the “Destroyer” victorious on Saturday. However, it’s unclear if his time away from competition will affect his performance.
Other Key Matchups On The Undercard
Elsewhere on the card, there are more fights that fans will be intrigued to watch. Here are some of the key matchups on the undercard:
Vacant WBA Light Heavyweight Championship: David Morrell (10-0) vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic (29-2)
Morrell will try to get his seventh straight knockout win this Saturday. Kalajdzic has more professional experience than his opponent, but Morrell’s punching power can be difficult to handle.
IBF International & WBA Continental Latin-American Lightweight Championship: Andy Cruz (3-0) vs. Antonio Moran (30-6-1)
Undefeated with three wins, Cruz will put his title on the line against Moran. Both fighters come into the matchup having won the last fight and try to get a statement win to put the division on notice.
USWBC & WBO International Heavyweight Championship: Jared Anderson (17-0) vs. Martin Bakole (20-1)
Anderson will take the next step toward becoming a title contender by taking on Bakole to open the main card. Both heavyweights have a record of 15 knockouts, so it’s possible the bout will not go the distance.

The epic showdown between Terence Crawford and Shawn Porter is finally here. Let’s see how things played out.
Round 1:
The fight begins with Porter coming right out and throwing a big combination as the two met in the middle of the ring. Crawford is economic with his punches in these opening minutes. Porter is much more aggressive, and Crawford is bobbing and weaving through his punches.
Round 2:
Porter is continuing to be the aggressor and is landing body shots. Crawford remains patient and is thinking out his combinations. Porter counters a Crawford right hook by throwing a straight right that knocks Crawford back. Crawford responds by landing a big right hand, but Porter responds with a left hook that briefly stuns Crawford. Crawford lands a stiff left hook to the body as the round ends.
Round 3:
Crawford opens up in a southpaw stance and Porter is tending to reach and lunge with his punches. Crawford throws a lead uppercut that nearly lands clean. The action picks up as Porter and Crawford throw big bombs in the middle of the ring. A possible clash of heads is passed up by the referee and action resumes. Porter has a noticeable cut above his right eye. Crawford gets the clinch as the round draws to a close.
Round 4:
Porter opens in a southpaw stance and lands a stiff right hook that catches Crawford clean. But, Crawford is beginning to find his range with the left hand. Round 6:
The pace begins to pick up between Crawford and Porter. Porter appears to be the more aggressive but Crawford is landing at a higher rate, specifically to the body. Halfway through the round, a clash of heads causes a brief stoppage and the fight resumes. Porter is confusing Crawford with his lead hook combinations.
Round 7:
Porter’s athleticism continues to give Crawford issues, but Crawford is eating the shots on the ropes well and is countering with big shots. Crawford gets the fight back to the center of the ring and lands some hard lead left hooks to the head. Porter appears to not like those left hooks and covers up as the round ends.
Round 8:
The round opens up with a torrid pace from both men. Crawford and Porter are both sharpshooting in the pocket, but Crawford is landing the bigger volume. Crawford just misses with a big left hand inside that Porter barely evades. With a minute left, Porter finds a home for the right hand to the head and Crawford counters with combinations to the body.
Round 9:
Crawford is starting to find a home for his patented right jab as the round opens up. Porter’s left eye is starting to swell as Crawford’s movement remains evasive. Porter’s pace is starting to slow down as Crawford presses forward and lands some hard body shots.
Round 10:
Crawford lands the first knockdown of the fight with a stiff left hook that drops Porter. The fight resumes after a six-count but Crawford lands a beautiful combination that lands consecutive shots to the head. Remarkably, Porter’s corner throws in the towel and the fight is stopped.
