Naturally a trip to Australia for the UFC means there’s got to be some local talent on the card, and yes, some of that local talent may be getting just one last chance to show that they can do something other than attract their friends and neighbors.

But there’s a wide range of fighters on the UFC 127 undercard who are need of a win on Saturday. Hailing from several different continents, and finding themselves in potential trouble for several different reasons, they all need to win big or at least lose impressively if they want to be invited back.

Let’s take a look at who they are below.

On the eve of the Academy Awards, the UFC is showing “The Social Network” some love.

For UFC 127 in Sydney, which airs live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. Eastern Saturday in the States with the time difference, the promotion is returning to Facebook, as well as the Ion Network, for a total of five preliminary card fights. The formation of Facebook is the crux of “The Social Network,” one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2010 – and nominated for eight Oscars on Sunday.

The UFC announced on its Facebook fan page Monday that bouts between Jason Reinhardt and Tiequan Zhang and Tom Blackledge and Anthony Perosh will stream live at Facebook. Fans must “like” the UFC on Facebook to gain access to the prelims at the site. The UFC currently has nearly 4.8 million fans at the social networking giant.

It seems like every time the UFC has a mediocre pay-per-view that sets fans to complaining, that’s the WEC’s cue to bring its entertaining brand of little guy fighting back to Versus, if only to show us that you can still get something for nothing (as long as you have a decent cable TV package).

It happened again on Thursday night. Fresh off of a disappointing UFC 119 main event, WEC 51 delivered from top to bottom, and did it all without the hefty price tag of a pay-per-view. With the money we all saved, we can now finally afford to buy some UFL merchandise. Do they sell merchandise? It doesn’t matter.

Now that the fights are in the books, let’s look at the biggest winners, losers, and everything in between from WEC 51

Jason Reinhardt is out of his fight against prized WEC signee Tiequan Zhang and will be replaced by Pablo Garza on Thursday’s WEC 51 card.

The WEC made the announcement via Twitter on Monday morning, and MMA Fighting has confirmed with sources close to Reinhardt that a failed eye exam will keep him from making his WEC debut.

Garza (7-0), Reinhardt’s replacement, was one of 28 contestants vying for a spot in the house on the current Season 12 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” But he lost his preliminary fight to Michael Johnson, who went on to become coach Georges St-Pierre’s top pick in the team selection, which aired last week.

It didn’t take long for Zuffa to puts its official stamp on mixed martial arts in Asia.

Following UFC 118, UFC president Dana White announced the company had set up an office in Beijing, China, and hired Mark Fischer, formerly of the NBA’s China branch, to run its operations in Asia as executive vice president and managing director.

On Thursday, the WEC, the UFC’s sibling promotion, officially announced the signing of lightweight Tiequan Zhang, of Beijing. Zhang will be the first fighter from mainland China in the WEC’s history. His first task comes later this month against Alex Karalexis at WEC 51 in Broomfield, Colo.
