Tyson Fury says whoever lands first will most likely walk away with a KO win when he eventually takes on UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

‘The Gypsy King’ and ‘The Predator’ have been angling for a crossover fight with each other for some time but it appears to be out of the question, at least of now.

Fury will defend his WBC heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte in the next few months before potentially taking on Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed fight.

Ngannou’s UFC contract came to an end when he beat Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 but due to a championship clause, he is tied to the promotion until the end of 2022.

Despite the fact, Fury-Ngannou is not on the cards in the near future, the Lineal champ couldn’t help talk up the potential crossover bout during a recent interview with ESPN.

“Yeah he is definitely a machine that is for sure,” Fury said. “He is definitely a good puncher and all that and let’s face it, it isn’t a wrestling match or no grabbing or anything.

Fury is of the opinion that a fight with Ngannou would come down to who lands first.

“It is just a stand-up punching battle with small gloves on,” Fury said. “He has got big power and so do I so whoever lands first (the other man will) get knocked out. So as I say I am certainly interested in that.

For now, Fury is focused on his upcoming mandatory defence against Whyte.

“Dillian Whyte is a much harder challenge than Francis Ngannou for me at this minute in time, so I only focus on Dillian Whyte for the next fight which is to be announced very shortly,” Fury concluded.

Tyson Fury, Francis Ngannou

Joe Rogan likes the idea of a boxing matchup between heavyweight champions Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury.

Ngannou most recently defended his belt against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270. He came into the fight with a serious knee injury and won the fight with his vastly improved grappling skills.

Fury concluded his trilogy with Deontay Wilder with a finish last year. He’s awaiting his next opponent but was briefly in negotiations to fight Dillian Whyte, although nothing has been officially announced or booked.

Ngannou has flirted with the idea of moving to boxing for months, most notably amidst his ongoing contract dispute with the UFC. He’s criticized the UFC’s business model and how fighters are compensated for their efforts.

Ngannou and Fury have fueled the fire to a potential matchup in a series of back-and-forth trash talk on social media.

Joe Rogan Wants To See Francis Ngannou Vs. Tyson Fury

During a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan promoted the idea of Ngannou facing Fury in a crossover bout.

“I want to see him box because I want to see him get a giant chunk of money – like, Conor McGregor-style, Floyd Mayweather chunk of money,” Rogan said. “Because when Conor fought Floyd Mayweather, he made $100 million. … I think that’s nice. I’d love to see that. If (Ngannou) fought Tyson Fury, how much money would they be able to make?” (h/t MMA Junkie)

White has previously said that Ngannou has one more fight left on his current deal with the UFC. He’s expected to miss at least nine months after his knee surgery and could potentially return to the cage later this year.

Ngannou seems keen that he doesn’t plan on fighting in the UFC under his current contract structure, so the promotion will have to negotiate a fair deal for all sides. Regardless, the possibility of a boxing match with Fury looms large.

Boxing’s heavyweight king Tyson Fury took to social media this morning to pay homage to one of MMA’s greatest ever, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

In a tweet sent out early on Tuesday, Fury praised the way Khabib left the sport at the height of his success, seemingly without sustaining any notable long-term damage.

Nurmagomedov retired from mixed martial arts after defeating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. The win moved ‘The Eagle’ to 29-0 in his pro career and was the third defense of his lightweight championship.

The retirement came as a surprise to many but was largely accredited to the passing of Khabib’s father and longtime coach Abdulmanap, who lost a battle with COVID-19.

“No way I’m going to come here without my father. It was first time after what happened with my father, when UFC called me about Justin, I talk with my mother three days. She doesn’t want me to go fight without my father but I promised her it was going to be my last fight. If I give my word, I have to follow this. It was my last fight here.”

Tyson Fury Entering Final Stages Of His Career

‘The Gypsy King’ has acknowledged in interviews in the past that he’s entering the twilight of his career and that everyone’s time to step down eventually comes sooner or later.

In an interview from this past December, Fury discussed his upcoming bout with Dillian Whyte and mentioned it would be one of his last.

The two heavyweights are targeted to square off on April 23, a bout that Fury hopes will take place in the UK. Fury also acknowledged the potential of him still fighting Anthony Joshua but admits that after Joshua’s loss to Oleksandr Usyk, the chances of him eventually taking on the Russian slugger appear more likely.

A heavyweight bout is set between undefeated WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte.

The news was first reported on Friday afternoon by Mauricio Sulaiman on Twitter. The date in mind for this event is April 23 in the United Kingdom. Frank Warren has won the rights to the fight after placing the winning bid of $41 million.

This price will allow Fury to receive $29.5 million and Whyte to receive $7.4 million for this fight. Fury is coming off back-to-back wins over Deontay Wilder both by way of KO. “The Gypsy King” is currently undefeated in his 32 fights and is one of the most popular boxers in the world.

Fury had been calling for a fight with UFC champion Francis Ngannou recently, but without the UFC’s permission, that fight could not be made. The amount of the purse Tyson will be receiving for this fight is exactly the reason Ngannou was looking to make a fight happen.

Ngannou has been vocal about wanting more money, and as more and more former UFC fighters make the transition to boxing, the more the pay discrepancy is brought to light.

Whyte will be coming into this bout having secured a vengeful win over Alexander Povetkin who knocked him out in the prior meeting. He took home the WBC interim heavyweight title with that win and secured his place across from Fury in the squared circle.

The fight will be seen on ESPN+ PPV in America and BT Sport PPV in the UK.

Francis Ngannou made his first title defense last night and caught Tyson Fury’s attention.

Ngannou won his grudge match against former training partner turned rival Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 270.

The WBC and ring magazine champion Fury offered his congratulation to the “Predator” via Twitter while teasing a fight between the two champions.

“Congratulations Francis Ngannou,” Tyson Fury wrote. “But if you want to make some real money come see the ‘GK’.”

The “Gypsy King’s” claim has sparked outrage because UFC 270 took place in California, a state that allows fighter payouts to be public knowledge, to the list of salaries acquired by MMA Fighting, Ngannou was paid a base purse of $600,000 for his first UFC title defense (this figure does not include pay-per-view earning, sponsorship income, or any other discretionary bonuses that Ngannou may have received).

This salary is nothing compared to what Fury supposedly made in his third fight with Deontay Wilder.

With his share of the pay-per-view, Fury is rumored to have made $30 million for his final fight with ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

What’s next for Francis Ngannou?

After his victory over Gane, there are a lot of opportunities for the UFC heavyweight champion.

Jon Jones is always rumored to be making his heavyweight debut this year and even tweeted his reaction to Ngannous victory.

Stipe Miocic is still highly ranked in the heavyweight division and that trilogy fight with Ngannou isn’t going away.

Derrick Lewis still holds a victory over the heavyweight champion, if Lewis can defeat Tai Tuivsa

At UFC 271 a rematch could be on the cards.

Or the exhibition boxing match with Fury could be a possibility following the success of Mayweather vs McGregor
