Last night’s (Sat., August 5, 2017) UFC Fight Night 114 from Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico, featured an all-out plethora of first-round finishes; in fact, the action-packed card was host to a record-tying seven of them.

Perhaps none were more emphatic than Humberto Bandenay’s insane knee KO of the heavily favored Martin Bravo that took only 26 seconds. Bandenay came out looking to prove a point as the biggest underdog on the card, and he did just that, landing a hard body kick early that clearly made Bravo think about defending his midsection.

When he did, however, Bandenay had the wherewithal to move his strike upstairs, nailing Bravo with a vicious knee that stiffened him and legitimately put Bandenay on the short list of potential ‘Knockout of the Year’ contenders. Check out the jaw-dropping finish right here:

UFC Fight Night 114 is in the books, and now it’s time for Reebok to pay the fighters their sponsorship money.

UFC Fight Night 114 took place on Saturday, August 8th, 2017 at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico. The preliminary bouts aired on UFC Fight Pass at 7 p.m. ET and FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET. Six bouts took place on the main card on FOX Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET.

A flyweight bout between Sergio Pettis and Brandon Moreno headlined the event. Alexa Grasso vs. Randa Markos in a strawweight bout served as the co-main event. Rounding out the main card was Alan Jouban vs. Niko Price in a welterweight bout, Martin Bravo vs. Humberto Bandenay in a featherweight bout, Sam Alvey vs. Rashad Evans in a middleweight bout, and Alejandro Perez vs. Andre Soukhamthath in a bantamweight bout.

In the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 114 last night (Sat. August 5, 2017) a couple of strawweight contenders went head-to-head in Alexa Grasso and Randa Markos.

Grasso headed into this fight coming off the first loss of her professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career. She was previously on a nine fight win streak before she was stopped by Felice Herrig this past February via unanimous decision. She looked to get back in the win column against Markos in Mexico City.

Markos had traded wins and loses in her last six fights, coming off of a big win over former strawweight champion Carla Esparza in February via split decision. With a win over Grasso, Markos could earn her first win streak in MMA competition since 2013.

The two women put on a great back-and-forth fight, with Grasso seeming to control the first round while the next two were very closely contested. Towards the end of the fight Grasso showed some great striking and perhaps stole the fight with her performance in the latter portion of the bout as she was awarded the split decision win.

Sergio Pettis and Brandon Moreno were on the cusp of flyweight title contention when they met in the main event of last night’s (Sat., August 5, 2017) UFC Fight Night 114 from Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico.

In the end, the No. 6 Pettis kept his momentum alive with a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over the unorthodox Moreno.

It wasn’t without some early adversity, however, as Moreno took Pettis’ back after taking him down off a kick in the first round, dominating the scorecard. But Pettis rallied back in the second round, landing some effective high kicks and finding his range in the boxing department, range he kept throughout the middle rounds where he was able to score with precise shots and hurt Moreno.

Moreno fought back with another takedown in the fifth, but Pettis’ effort throughout the middle of the fight was enough to earn him the victory on the scorecards. Watch the full fight video highlights of Pettis’ pivotal win right here:

During last night’s (Sat. August 5, 2017) UFC Fight Night 114 event, UFC welterweights Alan Jouban and Niko Price went head-to-head in hopes of moving up the ladder at 170 pounds.

Jouban came into the fight after having a three fight win streak snapped by Gunnar Nelson in England last March via second round submission. He was looking to string together another win streak in hopes of breaking back into the top 15.

Price entered the contest unbeaten in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career winning nine straight. He had earned his 10th consecutive victory via knockout over Alex Morono this past February, however, it was overturned to a No Contest after he tested positive for marijuana. “The Hybrid” looked to keep his unblemished record intact en-route to making a huge name for himself at welterweight with a win over the veteran Jouban.

The bout started off fairly back-and-forth with both men exchanging Octagon control, before Price landed a nasty shot just under two minutes that planted Jouban on the canvas. Price poured on the ground-and-pound before the referee had seen enough for the quick finish.
