UFC bantamweight Marlon Vera has recently come out and said that he accepted a rematch against rival Sean O’Malley but O’Malley turned it down.

These two met last summer at UFC 252. O’Malley was undefeated at the time and was coming off of a vicious walk-off knockout of Eddie Wineland. Vera had just dropped a controversial unanimous decision loss against Song Yadong but had won five straight before that.

The fight started off with both trying to get each others timing down early on. Vera then started beating up O’Malley’s lead leg pretty bad with calf kicks. Eventually in the first round, O’Malley suffered an ankle injury that rendered him one footed. He would fall to the mat on his back and get finished by Vera with strikes from the top.

After this fight, O’Malley and many of his fans were calling for an immediate rematch because of the injury. Meanwhile, Vera and many of his supporters said the Ecuadorian fighter should move on and move up the rankings to find a new opponent. Both would eventually move on and find different opponents for their next fights. Vera would go on to drop a decision loss to Jose Aldo in December of 2020. O’Malley would not come back until recently at UFC 260, where he knocked out Thomas Almeida.

All of this brings us to where we are today, with the possibility of a rematch rearing its head again. According to Vera, the UFC has already offered him the rematch, which he claims he accepted. Vera also claims O’Malley and his camp have been silent about the bout agreement. He would explain this in a quote tweet about the possible rematch.

With O’Malley coming off of a win and having huge star potential, I see the UFC giving him a bigger name for his next fight. He has recently called out Dominick Cruz and made a whole video about it.

A rematch right now would make sense for Vera, seeing that he is coming off a loss and would love to get another win over a high profile guy that he has already beaten.

Both guys are still young and have many of their prime years of fighting still ahead of them. I think that you have to let both guys build their resumes up again and have them possibly rematch a couple of years down the line.

Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov would smash WWE superstar, John Cena, in the wrestling ring according to MMA manger, Ali Abdelaziz.

‘The Eagle’ surprisingly retired from the sport back in October after beating Justin Gaethje to unify the UFC’s lightweight division.

After months of uncertainty as UFC boss, Dana White tried to persuade the undefeated Russian to stick around, Nurmagomedov relinquished his 155lb belt last month, cementing his decision to retire. Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler are set to square off for the vacant title at UFC 262.

The 32-year-old is in his fighting prime and still appears to have a lot to give as an athlete. However, as of late he has been focusing on the athletic endeavours of others. Nurmagomedov has been coaching fighters and he now on his own promotion – Eagle Fighting Championship.

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Nurmagomedov’s manager was asked about the possibility of his client transitioning to professional wrestling.

“Any of these soft steroid freaks wants to go ahead and have a wrestling match with Khabib, they want to get beat up for real. They know who to call. They need to call me,” Abdelaziz said. “He’ll go there and he’ll smash John Cena’s face no problem.”

Mike Perry

Mike Perry has seemingly turned down the chance to train alongside his long-time rival, Darren Till, in England.

‘Platinum’ suffered another loss at UFC Vegas 23 this past weekend.

The 28-year-old looked far from his best as he slumped to a decision defeat against Daniel Rodriguez.

‘D-Rod’ was able to dictate the fight with his superior boxing skills.

Despite scoring two takedowns, Perry was unable to have any real impact on the fight.

The UFC fan favoruite has now lost four of his last five fights.

Till took to social media to react to Perry’s latest loss, offering his rival the chance to train with him at Team Kaobon in Liverpool. ‘The Gorilla’ even offered to accommodate Perry and his family during their stay.

“Got so much time & respect for Perry But here is the main important factor for me No team, NO FOUNDATIONS!!! You need a good solid team around you, who are willing to go to great lengths with you, Till wrote. “And then your coach, I am lucky enough to not just have a coach but as I believe a true master of all the arts. & as humble and deadly as they come!! If Perry fancies coming here for a few months I would more than be willing to accommodate him and his family and I’m sure my team would feel the same way Hope whatever he chooses in life he puts him & family 1st x”

The offer appeared to be sincere and earned Till the plaudits of MMA fans who admired the fact he wanted to put his beef with Perry to one side.

‘Platinum’ took to social media to question Till’s motives, he wrote.

“Y’all thought @darrentill2 was being genuine ?  Yerrrr all skallywags!!”

Kevin Lee is hoping to take advantage of the ongoing uncertainty surround Conor McGregor’s trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

The former UFC double champion is expected to face off against Poirier for the third time on July 10.

McGregor vs. Poirier III was thrown into turmoil on Monday when the Irishman publicly declared he will no longer be fighting ‘The Diamond’.

“You’re ripped you inbred hillbilly,” McGregor wrote about Poirier on Twitter. “Why do you wink with your ears? You fucking brain dead hillbilly. 500k with no plan in place. Ye hang tight. Fool. You must be new to money. The fight is off btw. I’m going to fight someone else on the 10th. Good luck on your old contract kid.”

The angry McGregor post stemmed from Poirier revealing that ‘Notorious’ did not deliver the $500,000 he pledged to The Good Fight Foundation in the build-up to UFC 257. According to Poirier he was ghosted by McGregor’s representatives after knocking out their fighter.

Former interim title challenger, Lee, is hoping to take advantage of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding McGregor vs. Poirier III. ‘The Motown Phenom took to social media to let everyone know he’d be willing to fight ‘Notorious’ on July 10.

“I can be ready by July 10th,” Lee tweeted. “Lemme fit in this bih @TheNotoriousMMA @danawhite I can be ready July 10.”

Lee endured a terrible 2020. The lightweight contender tore his left ACL back in April not long after suffering a submission loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC Brasilia. During the recovery process, Lee tore his right ACL, for which he underwent a second surgery and needed even more time to heal.

According to Lee, 2021 is looking somewhat brighter for him.

Although it most likely won’t be against McGregor fans can look forward to seeing him back in action later this year.

Who should Kevin Lee fight when he returns?

Jake Paul

Jake Paul is confident he will make quick work of Ben Askren on April 17.

The YouTuber is set for his third professional boxing match this weekend.

Paul previously picked up two win over non-fighters in 2020.

He’ll now square off against former MMA champion, Askren.

‘Funky’ is known for his elitel level wrestling and lack of striking.

Despite that, many are predicting he will pull off the upset in his boxing debut.

During an appearance on the True Geordie Podcast, Paul scoffed at the people assuming Askren has a better chin and cardio than him.

“I have the ace up my sleeve and these guys don’t know what I’m capable of,” Paul said. “They don’t know how hard I can hit. And sure, Ben has a great chin. You know, he he’s been hit by Robbie Lawler a couple of times. But this guy is just coming off of a knockout. He’s coming off of a loss and to sit here and think that this old guy, Ben Askren. For people to say that he has a better cardio than me or that I’m going to get tired is absolutely hilarious.”

The 24-year-old says his sparring has fully prepared him for April 17.

“I’ve been sparring against MMA guys, this whole entire camp,” Paul explained. “Leading up to this who are unorthodox, who are wrestlers, who come in and try and clinch me. It does not matter. Nothing that Ben Askren will try to do in this fight will matter for one moment. And again, actions speak louder than words, and I’m just going to prove it. I’m sorry, you guys are in for a rude awakening. And you’re going to see, you’re going to see. Tune in April 17th.

Paul believes fight night will feel like “the easiest training session.”

“Every single person that I’ve sparred this camp is better than Ben Askren,” Paul said. “And quite literally, April 17th will be the easiest training session.

“I’m going to go in there and fight someone who is a lesser opponent than all of these guys I’ve sparred. I’m going to drop him in six minutes or less. I’m going to fucking walk out of the arena and that’s that.

Do you think Jake Paul will quickly stop Ben Askren on April 17?

Markus Perez Believes Ben Askren Will Knock Out Jake Paul Early After Sparring With YouTuber

Perez Paul

Markus Perez expects Ben Askren to knock Jake Paul out. That’s despite sparring with the latter.

Askren makes his professional boxing debut when he takes on the popular YouTuber in a Triller headliner taking place this weekend at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Most observers in the combat sports world believe it will be an easy win for Paul given Askren’s age and lack of striking ability. The same goes for UFC fighters who have sparred with Paul such as Jorge Masvidal and Mike Perry.

However, one former UFC fighter who sparred with Paul in Perez had a different viewpoint. The Brazilian revealed he was offered $300 to spar with Paul and he wasn’t that impressed with what he saw.

“He started the sparring going hard, and I hit him with a jab in the end of the first round and his nose started to bleed,” Perez told AgFight (via Sherdog). “From that point on we started to fight. I called for him to beat me up and he was afraid, just circling and staying out of my range. Of course, he is able to box and has a good cross, but he is clearly not a fighter — just an adventurous (type).

“Askren is a real fighter. He will close the distance and beat him up around the body and liver, just like I did. A fight is always a fight, anything can happen, but I believe he will knock Paul out around the second or third round.”

Based on these comments, is it fair to say Perez and Paul didn’t leave things off on the best of terms?

“They just gave me $150,” Perez added. “But in that regard, I have to support their attitude. I also wouldn’t pay $300 for someone who kicked my ass, the way I did with him.”

What do you make of Perez’s comments?
