Nate Diaz thinks he would have a lot of success in boxing against the top heavyweights in the sport.

Diaz made his pro boxing debut last year when he dropped a decision to Jake Paul. Despite that, Diaz has still expressed interest in continuing to box and after Francis Ngannou was knocked out by Anthony Joshua on Friday, the Stockton native called out the three top boxers.

“Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury. I’ll whoop all your asses. Just so u know,” Diaz wrote.

Although Diaz called the three out, it’s almost certain that the former UFC fighter would never box the heavyweights, due to the weight and the fact he lost to Jake Paul in his debut, which fans reminded him of.

“Love ya Nate…. but you lost to Jake Paul…,” one fan wrote.

“Stop embarrassing yourself you’re a grown man.”

“Never thought I’d say these words.. I’m tired of Nate Diaz.”

“bruh. you lost to jake paul.”

As many fans point out, Nate Diaz did lose to Jake Paul, so they don’t think he would have any success against the likes of Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, and Tyson Fury. The three boxers also never responded to his callout, which isn’t a surprise, as the fight is unlikely to ever happen.

Nate Diaz eyes return at UFC 306 in September

As for his fighting career, Diaz has not fought since he lost a decision to Jake Paul in a boxing match last August. He does not have his next fight booked, but has expressed interest in returning to the UFC to fight at The Sphere in September, while also being linked to a boxing match against Jorge Masvidal.

But, it’s almost certain that despite his callout, Diaz will not be boxing any of Joshua, Wilder, or Fury anytime soon, or ever.

Dana White reacts to Francis Ngannou's KO loss if Tyson Fury trained he would've ended that fight too

Reacting to former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou’s stunning knockout loss to boxing star, Anthony Joshua over the weekend, promotional boss, Dana White has claimed if WBC heavyweight kingpin, Tyson Fury actually trained for his fight with the Cameroonian last August – the result would have been a mirror-image.

Ngannou, a former undisputed heavyweight champion under the promotion’s banner, departed the White-led organization at the beginning of last year following the completion of his contractual obligations, in less than ceremonious circumstances.

And since signing with the Peter Murray-led PFL since his departure from the UFC, Ngannou has made his way to two high-profile heavyweight boxing matches – the first of which in a controversial loss to the aforenoted, Fury last summer.

However, in Riyadh earlier this weekend, Ngannou suffered his first knockout loss in combat sports, with ex-two-time world heavyweight champion, Joshua turning in a blistering and punishing one-punch knockout in Saudi Arabia in the pair’s showdown.

Dana White shares thoughts on Francis Ngannou’s loss

And sharing his thoughts on Ngannou’s defeat – in which the Batié native claimed he had let his entire fanbase down, White expressed his dislike for crossover boxing matches – before claiming Ngannou would have suffered a similar fate if he fought a primed and prepped Fury last year.

“I mean, I saw it [Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou] on social media,” Dana White told assembled media after UFC 299. “…Yeah, I mean, going into the (Tyson) Fury fight – if Fury trained for the fight and didn’t show up like, you know, look like he ate Tyson Fury, it’s probably the way that fight would’ve ended, too.”

“Listen, you know how I feel about the crossovers into boxing,” Dana White continued. “That’s how they end – just like that.”

Expected to make his first outing in the PFL SmartCage later this year off the back of his knockout defeat to Watford native, Joshua – Ngannou will likely be matched against recent superfight winner, Renan Ferreira, who is fresh from a stunning knockout win over Ryan Bader earlier this month.

P4P great Demetrious Johnson believes Anthony Joshua could beat Francis Ngannou in the ring and the cage.

On Friday (March 8), ‘The Predator’ stepped inside the squared circle for the second time in his career to take on the WBC’s top-ranked contender, Anthony Joshua. Following a critically acclaimed performance against Tyson Fury in October, fight fans were anxious to see what Ngannou could do against one of the heavyweight division’s heaviest hitters. It took us less than two rounds to find out.

After sitting Ngannou down not once, but twice with a couple of solid straight rights, Joshua blasted the former UFC champion with a vicious right hook that immediately rendered Ngannou unconscious, sending him violently crashing to the canvas.

Following the contest, fans and fighters had plenty to say, but perhaps the hottest take from former UFC and current ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson. Speaking on his YouTube channel, ‘Mighty Mouse’ suggested that Anthony Joshua — who has never once competed in mixed martial arts — would deliver a similar result should the two titans run it back in MMA someday.

“Does Anthony Joshua beat Francis Ngannou in an MMA fight? I think he does and here’s the reason why — I think it would just be another striking match,” Johnson said. “AJ understands his distance. He has better hands than Francis and he can make make Francis whiff and miss again. Unless Francis is going to change his tactics and clinch him and wrestle him… But AJ is very athletic. He is smaller and more limber. I think he’d be able to stuff the shot and give it to Francis Ngannou.”

After Loss to Anthony Joshua, Francis Ngannou Heads back to MMA where 6’8″ monster Renan Ferreira awaits

Expected to make his Smart Cage debut later this year, Ngannou has previously spoken about a crossover clash with boxing star Deontay Wilder under the PFL banner. But first, ‘The Predator’ will have to contend with 6’8″ Renan Ferreira — winner of the 2023 PFL heavyweight tournament.

Last month, Ferreira scored a stunning 21-second knockout of Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader in the PFL vs. Bellator headliner. As a result, he will be the man to welcome Ngannou back to the world of MMA.

Former undisputed middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya was left distraught and scatching his head following last night’s shocking knockout loss for close-friend and fellow former UFC heavyweight titleholder, Francis Ngannou – at the vicious hands of boxing supremo, Anthony Joshua in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Ngannou, a former undisputed heavyweight champion under the banner of the Dana White-led UFC, made his sophomore outing in the boxing ring overnight in the Middle East – following a tremendous performance en route to defeat against WBC best, Tyson Fury last August at the same venue.

Francis Ngannou flattened in shuddering loss

However, seeing the curtain draw – potentially definitely on his naive boxing career last night, Cameroonian berserker, Ngannou was both dropped and stopped for the first time in his professional combat sports tenure overnight, with Joshua flattening the former UFC kingpin with an hellacious finish in the second round.

Felled in the first with a piston-like right hand straight from Watford native, Joshua, Ngannou was then caught with a check left hook in the second, sending him briefly to the canvas once more.

However, immediately back on his feet, Ngannou was sent stretched to the floor for a third and ultimately final time, completely unconscious in spectacular fashion

And claiming he let fans and friends down in his shocking knockout loss, it looks to be back to the drawing board for Ngannou – who is expected to make his PFL (Professional Fighters League) debut later this year in a showcase with recent superfight champion, Renan Ferreira

Izzy Reacts

Sharing his thoughts on Ngannou’s staggering knockout loss to Joshua in the Middle East, Adesanya was left awestruck in the immediate aftermath of the bout.

“Ah, man – f*cking cold, ah man, damn,” Israel Adesanya said on his YouTube channel. “He’s (Francis Ngannou) okay. That second one [knockdown] was bad, but that third one [knockdown]. You could see it in his face – ‘cause the first one he was fine, that was a flash [knockdown].

Francis Ngannou releases statement after KO loss to Anthony Joshua I let you down

Francis Ngannou had a bad night at the office.

After delivering a critically acclaimed performance against Tyson Fury in his professional boxing debut last October, Ngannou felt as confident as ever going into Friday’s showdown with the WBC’s top-ranked contender, Anthony Joshua.

While Ngannou looked good in the opening minutes, Joshua didn’t take long to take over, planting ‘The Predator’ on the mat before the end of the first round with a solid straight right. Ngannou got back to his feet and made it to the second round where Joshua sat him down again with a repeat right hand. Ngannou again answered the referee’s count, but this time, Joshua had no intention of letting him off the hook. Joshua immediately moved in, blasting the Cameroonian with a booming right hook that immediately rendered Ngannou unconscious.

Sorry guys I let you all down,” Ngannou wrote on X following the devastating defeat. “Today was a bad day in the office but tomorrow will be another day. Thank you all for the love.”

Francis Ngannou expected to follow up his loss to Anthony Joshua with PFL debut

With the loss, Francis Ngannou fell to 0-2 in his pro boxing career, though that’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of considering the losses have come against two of the toughest heavyweights in the world.

Anthony Joshua improved to 28-3 with three straight finishes and will likely find himself fighting the winner of May’s unified heavyweight world title tilt between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Chances are, Ngannou’s boxing experiment is far from over, but for now, ‘The Predator’ will turn his attention back toward MMA for his long-awaited PFL debut. Expected to meet him inside the Smart Cage is the 2023 heavyweight tournament winner, Renan Ferreira.

‘Problema’ only needed 21 seconds to put away Bellator MMA heavyweight champion Ryan Bader in the PFL vs. Bellator main event last month, guaranteeing himself a fight with ‘The Predator’ later this year.
