Diego Sanchez BKFC Nate Diaz Nick Diaz

UFC lightweight and welterweight alum, Diego Sanchez has called for both Nick Diaz and Nate Diaz to make a move to bare knuckle fighting under the banner of BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) – with the former recently booking his promotional debut against former professional boxer, Austin Trout.

Sanchez, an alum of the UFC, most recently featured under the banner of the Dana White-led promotion back in September 2020, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Jake Matthews.

Returning to professional mixed martial arts following his organizational release, Sanchez, a former UFC lightweight title challenger and Ultimate Fighter victor, suffered a decision loss to fellow UFC veteran, Kevin Lee at Eagle FC 45 last March.

Recently, Sanchez, a native of New Mexico, was booked to make his promotional bow under the David Feldman-led BKFC banner – taking on former WBC lightweight champion, Trout in a highly-scrutinized pairing which has drawn criticism for it’s matchmaking.

Diego Sanchez weighs up future fights with Nick Diaz and Nate Diaz

Previewing his BKFC matchup with Trout, Sanchez revealed he would like to fight either Nate or Nick Diaz next, urging the Stockton favorites to make the transition to bare knuckle fighting.

After this fight [with Austin Trout], I would love the Nate Diaz or Nick Diaz fight,” Diego Sanchez told The Underground reporter, John Morgan. “That would be the ultimate. The ultimate big money fight for me and the Diaz army.

All the gangster sh*t, the real gangsters take the gloves off, homie,” Diego Sanchez explained. “You know, there ain’t no gloves in the street, Nick and Nate. I know you wanna make your money, so it’s all good, I ain’t gonna get disrespectful or anything. I know they’re just making money, like all of us, as warriors in this sport.”

Without a victory since a homecoming event at UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho back in February 2020, Sanchez managed to land a disqualification win over Michel Pereira after he was on the receiving end of a third round illegal knee which left him unable to continue.

Mike Perry Jake Paul

UFC welterweight alum turned bare knuckle fighter, Mike Perry has revealed he is confident of securing a professional boxing return against the undefeated YouTuber, Jake Paul – as soon as February, insisting he is ready to fight as soon as this weekend.

Perry, a former welterweight contender under the banner of the UFC, ended his tenure with the Dana White-led organization back in April 2021 at UFC on ABC 2 against Daniel Rodriguez, suffering a unanimous decision loss. Perry made the Octagon walk on 15 separate occasions.

A native of Flint, Michigan, Perry has since turned his hand to bare knuckle fighting under the banner of the BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) where he’s landed an impressive 2-0 record so far.

Debuting with a unanimous decision victory over The Ultimate Fighter veteran, Julian Lane back in February of last year, before headlining an event in London, England against renowned striker and former Bellator MMA welterweight title challenger, Michael Page, landing a majority decision win at BKFC 27.

Mike Perry believes fight with Jake Paul could happen as soon as next month

In the time since, Perry, who initially called for a fight with Paul off the back of his win over London Shootfighters staple, Page, has revealed he had received an offer to fight the Ohio native. And he remains certainly confident of landing the clash – as soon as February, in fact.

“I believe it was for mid-February,” Mike Perry said of a fight with Jake Paul during an interview with MMA Fighting. “I don’t know what I can and can’t say, [because] I want it to happen, but there was supposed to be a really cool location and that intrigued me.”

“I think it happens,” Mike Perry explained. “If it is mid-February, I’ll be ready. I’m ready this weekend. I’m going to keep working, road work, lift some weights, eat healthy, just keep feeding myself and stay hungry. That’s me. That’s what I do.”

Revealing he had previously sparred with the undefeated, Paul, Perry believes the duo could turn in an impressive boxing match in the future if the rumored clash comes to fruition.

“I sparred him (Jake Paul) once, and I think it would be a great boxing match,” Mike Perry said. “I can’t lie, I’m a bare knuckle boxer, and I like to punch without anything, but with the gloves on I feel like I hit harder, and I think it would be interesting to see what I could do.”

John Dodson is scheduled to return to the BKFC ring against former champion Jarod Grant on Feb.17 at KnuckleMania 3. The event will be held at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

It will be Dodson’s second bare knuckle fight in his career. He made his BKFC debut last August where he defeated Ryan Benoit by first-round knockout in 40 seconds.

Dodson is coming off a mixed martial arts fight two weeks ago at Rizin FF 40. He made his Rizin debut and scored a first-round knockout against Hideo Tokoro.

John Dodson Will Face a Former BKFC Bantamweight Champion

The 38-year-old will have a challenge on his hands in February. He will take on Jarod Grant, who is a former BKFC Bantamweight Champion. Grant is 5-1 in BKFC. His only loss came by a technical decision due to an accidental eye poke during his first and only title defense.

Dodson is a veteran of the fight game. He made his professional MMA debut in 2004 and has fought for several promotions including the UFC. His accolades include winning The Ultimate Fighter and securing Fight of the Night against Demetrius Johnson at UFC on Fox 6. He also competed for the UFC flyweight title twice.

Since his UFC departure in 2020, Dodson has fought for XMMA, Rizin FF and BKFC. He has gone 3-1 in combat sports during this run.

Former UFC welterweight, Mike Perry shared images of a supposed contract offered to him by Jake Paul.

Paul, who last fought Anderson Silva, winning in an impressive display, is seemingly never far from being called out by some of combat sports’ most notable names.

Perry would take to Twitter to share screenshots of an alleged contract, claiming he had signed it but Paul had backed out.

Perry would also claim that Paul backed out of the fight after changing his mind:

Mike Perry’s boxing career

Since his departure from the UFC, Perry has enjoyed a successful transition into boxing, both gloved and bare-knuckle. Perry first took on 27-3 professional boxer Mike Seals, who shared the ring with the likes of Edwin Rodriguez and Eleider Alvarez during his time as a light-heavyweight.

The bout, which was a mixed rules contest put on by Triller, would be awarded to Perry after seven rounds. Perry would then move on to BKFC, debuting in bare-knuckle and taking on former Ultimate Fighter contestant, Julian Lane. The fight would go as someone would expect a bare-knuckle fight involving Perry to go, producing a bloody, exciting affair in which Perry would drop Lane to earn the judge’s decision.

Perry has found his niche and would be rewarded with one of the biggest bare-knuckle fights in BKFC history. ‘Platinum’ would be matched up with Bellator’s Michael ‘Venom’ Page, in what would be a fight that no one knew they needed.

Perry, who was the underdog heading into the bout, would again put on a show and take his post-UFC career to 3-0 following another entertaining contest.

Former UFC welterweight Mike Perry has challenged the recently retired Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone to a boxing match.

Perry and Cerrone previously faced off at UFC Fight Night 139: Korean Zombie vs. Rodriguez, a classic event that featured one of the greatest KO’s of all time in the main event. However, in the co-main, Donald Cerrone would submit Mike Perry with a crippling belly down armbar, leaving fans with this iconic image:

Since then, both men have departed the promotion. Mike Perry had found himself on a two-fight losing streak, coming up short against Tim Means and Daniel Rodriguez. Instead of continuing with MMA, ‘Platinum’ Perry would in a custom rules boxing match vs. Michael Seals at Triad Combat 1. Since then, he has switched over to bare-knuckle boxing, picking up back-to-back victories over Julian Lane and Michael Page.

Donald Cerrone would remain with the UFC for a year later than Perry. However, after going seven fights without a win, he made the decision to hang up the gloves (and the hat).

With both men now free from their UFC contracts, Mike Perry has suggested they run it back, this time in the squared circle. He stated the following on Twitter: “If you’re looking to box @Cowboycerrone I’m up for my rematch. . .”

‘Cowboy’ is yet to respond, although he did recently indicate that he’d be open to a boxing match with Jake Paul. He also recently confessed to using steroids now that he is free of regular USADA checks.
