After making a statement in her UFC debut by demolishing Leslie Smith in 81 seconds in a 140-pound catchweight bout at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil earlier this month, Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino continues to call out former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey for a fight at the UFC 205 pay-per-view in New York City.

Rousey, who has yet to officially announce her UFC return, has been rumored for the debut of UFC at Madison Square Garden in New York City, which will take place at UFC 205 in November.

In the video embedded above, Cris Cyborg challenges Rousey to a “Running Man Challenge,” mocking the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion for the second time since picking up her first official Octagon victory.

Ronda Rousey last fought in November of 2015, losing her first professional MMA fight in devastating fashion as former multiple-time women’s boxing champion Holly Holm brutally knocked out the former Olympic medalist in Judo with a head kick. Holm would later go on to lose the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship when she was submitted by current champion and fellow Rousey rival, Miesha Tate.

Will Cris Cyborg Box On McGregor vs. Mayweather Undercard?

Without a high-profile card this weekend, much of the news in the MMA world has centered around the heavily hyped potential boxing match between UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and retired boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr.

It seemed to be taken to an all-new level this week when “Money” reportedly offered McGregor $50 million of just that to face him inside the squared circle, and “The Notorious” must have taken that as a sign, as he wildly proclaimed that Mayweather “needs him” instead of the opposite scenario.

The proposed super fight seems like a far-off scenario with McGregor under contract with the UFC, and indeed his next fight in the Octagon seems close to being booked after he met with the UFC brass this week, even if a similar meeting with his prospective opponent Nate Diaz, who infamously submitted McGregor at March’s UFC 196, didn’t go as well.

If it does somehow happen, however, there’s another high-profile MMA fighter that wants to try her hand at the sweet science on the card. That woman is Invicta FC featherweight titleholder Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino, who recently made her UFC debut by decimating Leslie Smith at May 14’s UFC 198 from Curitiba, Brazil.

She was recently liked to a potential fight with rising women’s bantamweight contender Germaine de Randamie at July’s UFC 201 this week, but Cyborg is apparently playing hardball, stating she would rather defend her Invicta title at 145 pounds for some odd reason. And there could be another reason for that, because now, she’s apparently got some other plans in mind.

Justino spoke up on Twitter this weekend to volunteer her services for a spot on the potentially massive McGregor vs. Mayweather event:

The brutalizing knockout artist has previously competed in Muay Thai, and although she did lose to champion Jorina Baars, she’s definitely one of the biggest names in all of female combat sports. With that said, she hasn’t exactly been tested in the cage or ring outside of the Baars fight, so it’s a quandary as to exactly whom she’d potentially face in a boxing match as part of the undercard for McGregor vs. Mayweather.

She’s got the potential to be a huge star in the UFC, but Cyborg appears focused on boxing, telling TMZ that she already has a coach that will “have me ready.”

Do you want to see her box on the potentially massive event, or do you believe the fight is so unlikely that speculating on the undercard is pointless?

Although the story going around some MMA circles is that Holly Holm turned down a fight against Cris Cyborg at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil this past weekend, “The Preacher’s Daughter” is claiming that is not the case.

Holm spoke with Dave Ross of 120 Sports this week and said the reason she didn’t take the fight against Cyborg at UFC 198 was due to a timing issue. As Holm explained, she was still hoping to secure an immediate title rematch against Miesha Tate.

“I was just kind of holding on to see if I could get the rematch for the belt,” Holm said. … “I’m not against fighting Cyborg. It just didn’t seem like the right time.”

Holm continued, explaining that the 135 pound or 140 pound weight class is not an issue with her like it appears to be with several of the other bantamweight contenders in the UFC women’s division. As Holm explains, she’ll fight Cyborg at 135 or 140 pounds.

“I’m not even stuck on the 135 compared to the 140 stuff,” Holm said. “It’s not really a big thing for me.”

“In boxing, I fought in three weight classes,” Holm said. “I’m not gonna say that I’m against going at 140. I actually think Cyborg might able to do 135. Who knows? But that’s definitely something that could be an option for the future. I’m actually really happy for her victory. I really like Cyborg. I think she’s a great gal.”

If Cris “Cyborg” Justino sticks to her word, Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp is keeping a spot open for her.

Cyborg shot down a reported UFC 201 fight with Germaine de Randamie recently, stating that she’ll defend her Invicta FC featherweight title next.

Knapp told MMAjunkie that the Invicta FC 18 event on July 29 – one day before UFC 201 in Atlanta – would move ahead with Cyborg in the main event if that is the road she decides to take. Knapp, though, stressed that she is currently signed to a Zuffa contract and could be placed on that card instead.

“I’m working on the 29th,” she said. “If all parties agree, then certainly she would (headline).”

Cyborg (16-1) ran through Leslie Smith at UFC 198 this past weekend. The contest took place at a catchweight of 140 pounds, though the Brazilian came in a pound under that mark. She has stated issues with trying to get down to 135 in the past to compete for the UFC’s bantamweight division.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm is slated to meet No. 9-ranked Valentina Shevchenko in the main event of July 23’s UFC on FOX 20 from Chicago.

This will be Holm’s first performance since surrendering her title in a submission loss to Miesha Tate last March. “The Preacher’s Daughter” was hoping to receive an immediate rematch with Tate, but “Cupcake” will instead face off with Amanda Nunes at July 9’s UFC 200.

Many were surprised when Holm was booked against Shevchenko, and it appears as if she was actually offered another high profile fight: a catch weight bout with Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino.

Justino recently destroyed Leslie Smith at UFC 198 in her Octagon debut, but a bout between herself and Holm would’ve been massive.

Recently speaking on the matter, Holm admitted that she turned down the bout with “Cyborg” simply because she was hoping to land the rematch with Tate. The former champion also very clearly stated that she’d be willing to fight Justino at any weight:

“I’m not even stuck on the 135 compared to 140, that’s not really a big thing for me. They did call me for the fight, that is definitely true. I was so focused and I really wanted to see if I was going to get that rematch for the belt because that is where my passion was really facing. And that was around the time they asked me for the fight with Cyborg and I was holding out to see if I could get the rematch. To me, I am not against fighting Cyborg, it just didn’t really seem like the right time. In boxing, I fought in three weight classes, so I am not opposed to fighting at 140. I actually think Cyborg might make 135, who knows. But that could be an option for the future. I am actually very happy for her victory.
