At 40 years of age, Brown has no plans to stop fighting anytime soon and when quizzed about potential opponents, “The Immortal” was very open to a fight with Nate or Nick Diaz.
“I love the Diaz brothers, and of course it would be a big fight,” Brown said at the post-fight news conference (via MMA Junkie). “That’s one of them fights like, if I took it, it wouldn’t be because I dislike the Diazes or anything. I would take it because it’s a big fight and I respect them.”
While they would certainly be intriguing fights, they seem unlikely as well as the Diaz brothers seem to be only interested in fighting big names or fighters on long winning streaks.
Regardless, Brown just wants to fight — despite previous hints of retirement.
“I love fighting – that’s all there is to it,” Brown added. “I just love fighting. It’s just getting a camp together and putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. That just takes more time, so that’s what determines when I’m able to fight, not as much my desire – because my desire is there.
“I want to come in and do that to a lot of people, what I did tonight.”
Brown has won three of his last five outings overall.

Plodding forward and forcing Lima to the fence on cue, Brown, with his usual heavy footed approach launched body kicks on cue and began mixing in his hands as the Brazilian circled.
Catching Lima with a huge right hand, as both men threw caution to the wind in the second, Brown landed first, and flattened the former unconscious on the Octagon canvas.
Below, catch the highlights from Brown’s massive stoppage victory over Lima.

It’s very rare that a manager appeals when their fighter has won, but that’s what Dhiego Lima’s manager Alex Davis plans on doing.
Lima got his third win in a row following a split decision victory over Luke Jumeau on the main card of UFC 243 last night. However, it was surprising that it was a split decision in the first place as Lima looked to be the better fighter throughout the three rounds.
For that reason, Davis plans on appealing the result to get the decision changed to a unanimous one.
“Although Dhiego won, we have decided to appeal this decision,” Davis told MMA Junkie. “We are asking that it be changed from split to unanimous on a question of principle. Although we are happy with Dhiego’s win, we are intrigued at how a judge could have scored the fight for Jumeau. No disrespect to Jumeau – he fought a tough fight. But a split decision does not reflect the reality of the fight.
“Once again, this exposes a fundamental flaw in MMA judging and structure. The question again looms: Who are these people? What are their credentials? How did they get into such an important position, as to judge fights that affect these hard-working athletes’ lives and careers?”
It’s easy to see why Davis wants to appeal. He was also not happy with another client in Edson Barboza’s split decision defeat to Paul Felder last month at UFC 242. He appealed that loss and although, there is no update on what that lead to, he feels he’s required to keep pressing the issue:
“These questions cannot stop being asked,” Davis added. “These decisions must be confronted for a better MMA.”
Do you agree with Davis? Were you also shocked that it was a split decision win?

Next up on the the UFC 243 main card is a welterweight contest between Luke Jumeau and Dhiego Lima.
Round 1: The fight begins with a feeling out process. The two exchange leg kicks but nothing significant lands in the first few minutes. Lima suffers an eye-poke while attempting a body shot as the action is stopped momentarily. The action resumes and we return to mainly leg kicks before the round comes to an end.
Round 2: Lima’s leg kicks are adding up as he drops Jumeau with one early on in the second round. The fight briefly goes to the ground with Lima on top before the two stand up again. Lima catches a body kick from Jumeau and the two get into a clinch position shortly afterwards with Lima pressing. They separate as Jumeau struggles a bit with his leg. However, he catches Lima but is unable to capitalize and gets countered. Lima drags him down and ends the last minute on top.
Round 3: The two keep their distance in the third round while feinting. Lima attempts a takedown but Jumeau is able to keep it to a clinch position. They separate but it’s mostly Lima dictating things despite Jumeau advancing much more. This looks like a win for the Brazilian.
Official Result: Dhiego Lima defeats Luke Jumeau via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Here we go again. Two weeks after The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 25 winner Jesse Taylor accepted a one-year suspension for testing positive for clomiphene in an out-of-competition screen, the talented-yet-embattled fighter is back with his side of the story. Two weeks after The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 25 winner Jesse Taylor accepted a one-year suspension for testing positive for clomiphene in an out-of-competition screen, the talented-yet-embattled fighter is back with his side of the story.
Taylor told Ariel Helwani on this week’s episode of The MMA Hour(via MMA Mania) that he believes his failure was due to a tainted sexual performance enhancement pill given to him by a holistic doctor, but due to the expensive nature of fighting the charges, it was more apparently more logical for him to accept the suspension:
“I’m not testing these supplements before I’m taking them. It’s crazy. It’s a hard thing to fight, let’s just say that. And if I fight it, I’m out almost as long and out some money. So, you’re kind of stuck in a rock and a hard spot on this thing.”
One might think that if a UFC fighter isn’t going to have their supplements tested, then it may be not worth even taking them in today’s stringent USADA testing landscape, where the burden is on the athlete to know exactly what they are ingesting.
The benefit of the supplement in question is far from being worth the potential damage done to a fighter’s career, especially for a man like Taylor who literally spent years fighting his way back to the UFC after going on a drunken rampage during TUF 5 and getting kicked off of the show.
The ‘dick pill’ defense is one we’ve seen decorated former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Jon Jones use in the past, although both got the same one-year suspension as Taylor. Silva’s was in the pre-USADA era while Jones’ was in conjunction with his infamous UFC 200 main cancellation. Taylor seemed to take a similar defense as ‘The Spider,’ who claimed he was given a random sexual enhancement substance in an unmarked blue vial.
Despite his failure and suspension, Taylor remained vague and wouldn’t out the person who gave him the supposedly tainted supplement:
“Long story short, we kind of have an idea of who it is, I just don’t want to throw this guy’s name under the bus, because it’s not guaranteed,” Taylor continued. “I never tested the supplements and all that. I never took knowingly any clomiphene, anti-estrogen or anything of that nature.”
So Taylor claims he’s innocent, but also acknowledges he never tests his supplements and is unwilling to go through the full due process to exonerate himself, immediately accepted a drug-related suspension after spending the last 10 years to get back into the Octagon.
