Dillon Danis reacts to KSI’s recent knockout win over FaZe temper this past weekend as part of the most recent influencer boxing event.

The bizarre world of influencer/celebrity boxing rages on as Misfits boxing put on another sold-out show at OVO Wembley Arena, London. While many traditional combat sports fans dislike and grow old of it, there is still a large audience, mostly consisting of young people that enjoys it.

While Saturday nights bill was headlined by multi-media superstar, KSI, the event also featured boxing matches with DJ’s, adult stars, YouTuber’s and even some professional fighters.

KSI would savagely knockout late replacement, FaZe Temper, who grew to fame playing Call of duty as part of FaZe clan, in the first round. Temper was of course late replacement for combat sports enigma, Dillon Danis, who pulled out of the fight allegedly citing a lack of preparation and coaching.

Danis would react to the KO, of course using the opportunity to further call out and goad KSI

That was an exhibition bout with someone you used to live with in LA, it is even illegal to bet on non-sanctioned bout that you just did in the USA. When you are ready for a professional fight with a real commission let me know @ksi.”, Danis said in a now-deleted tweet.

Danis of course gained notoriety as part of Conor McGregor’s camp ad his involvement in the Khabib Nurmagomedov incident. The 29-year-old is still under contract with Bellator after competing twice for the promotion in 2018 and 2019.

The American has managed to keep his name relevant with his social media antics, calling out fighters and YouTubers alike. Talk of a return to combat has come and gone for some time but it’s unclear if we will ever see Danis compete again.

As we all know by now, former teammate of Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis has withdrawn from his upcoming boxing bout with KSI, which was set to go down on January 14, 2023, live from the OVO Arena Wembley in London, England.

This was to be the BJJ black belt’s first fight outside of an MMA cage, under a new rule set, prior to him pulling out on January 4, ten days before the fight was expected to take place.

KSI has since found a new opponent in Faze Temperrr, who’s 1-1 as a professional and 1-0 as an amateur, while KSI is 3-0 as a professional and 1-0-1 as an amateur. This should be an interesting match up, as Temperrr is 6’4” with a reach of 77”, while KSI is 6′ with a reach of 76”, both parties coming off knockout victories going into this bout next weekend.

Danis has been no stranger to upsetting the MMA community, and he continues to do so with the withdraw of this bout after making a true ass of himself on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour leading up, stating, ‘that’s the stupidest thing ever’ when told people are expecting him to pull out.

Danis also decided to no show the pre-fight press conference leading up, causing reason for suspicion.

Current no. 1 ranked UFC bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley had the following to say in regards to this match up cancellation:

“Oh yeah Dillon Danis pulled out (of his) fight against KSI. Did you hear why? He couldn’t find a coach or a team to like, work with him. He’s underprepared and he is having trouble making weight. That’s what they said. So I wonder if he even had intentions on fighting.

“But yeah KSI is fighting Faze Temperrr now.”

O’Malley continued: “I’m curious if people are going to take fights with him. Like, no one known will. He’ll be able to fight some more bums probably.”

Danis hasn’t done too well in BJJ competition since being awarded his black belt, as he’s 1-6 in his last seven, and 2-7 in his last nine in grappling. Not to mention, he hasn’t fought in MMA since 2019, he doesn’t have sponsors, he doesn’t coach BJJ. How does he get by? It’s a noteworthy question.

It appears all Dillon Danis has left is Bellator. Will we ever see him fight again?

Ahead of his scheduled boxing matchup against UK rapper and professional boxing prospect, KSI, Bellator MMA welterweight grappler, Dillon Danis has hit out at mixed martial arts journalist, Ariel Helwani, branding him a “bully” and described the Canadian reporter as “weird” following their recent sitdown interview.

Danis, who is scheduled to fight KSI on a Misfits Boxing event in two weeks’ time, has yet to feature in mixed martial arts competition since June 2019, improving to 2-0 as a professional with an armbar win over Max Humphrey.

In the time since, the 29-year-old underwent multiple surgical procedures to address a catastrophic knee injury – the latter of which occured as he helped prepare former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor for his January 2020 return fight against Donald Cerrone

Dillon Danis fires barbs at MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani

Featuring during a recent interview with Canadian journalist, Helwani this month, Danis engaged in a hostile and agitated back-and-forth with the former, and has since branded him a “bully” and insinuated he was utilizing “estrogen replacement therapy”.

“He’s (Ariel Helwani) a bully, he doesn’t take criticism well,” Dillon Danis told Chael Sonnen during a recent interview. “ But the interview did the best numbers that he’s gotten all year, so right now, it’s the most viewed interview.”

“I feel like he’s just coming off as you know very hostile and very agitated,” Dillon Danis explained. “Yeah, he’s weird to gage, he’s a very weird kind of guy, like I can’t tell like after he wants to talk to me so I really can’t tell if he took it to heart. I didn’t take anything he said to heart, I mean like, I couldn’t, it just bounces right off me you know so I’m kind of used to it. Maybe’s he just not used to getting criticism to his face. … He was just like super upset, I don’t know. I heard he was on like estrogen, so like maybe he’s on estrogen – like a replacement therapy or something, he’s very emotional.”

In his first professional victory, Danis, 29, submitted Kyle Walker under the Scott Coker-led Bellator banner back in 2018.

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor ‘doesn’t care’ as influencer boxers reign down insults.

Celebrity boxing and exhibitions have been around for decades, but the bizarre world of influencer boxing continues to grow into something that combat sports has never seen before. It relentlessly seeps into the mainstream of boxing and MMA, even luring stars from professional backgrounds to compete in their events, as they further attempt to legitimize their standing in the space.

It was announced last month that KSI, one of the leading figures in influencer boxing, would take on Dillon Danis on January 14.

Danis, a former BJJ world champion and 2-0 pro-MMA fighter, rose to prominence as a friend and training partner of Conor McGregor. KSI has, of course, used this relationship to attach McGregor to the fight, taunting the Irishman on Twitter, and evoking a response.

Brother you’re a friendly little nerd I don’t care. He should be back doing mma if he is doing this little nothing burger match with you. I couldn’t care less about this genre of boxing, I am sorry. Have a good one.‘- Conor McGregor

Of course, both Paul brothers would jump at this opportunity, both using the time to boast of their fighting prowess.

‘“Genre of boxing” ?? Boxing is boxing. I’m a YouTuber & I still did more damage to Floyd than you’– Paul

‘You fight for belts? Last time you fought for a belt was 4 years ago. Lost 3 of your last 4 fights. I would knock you out in the squared circle with one hand tied behind my back. To be fair, in the cage I would need two hands. But same result.’- Paul
