Ahead of his boxing clash with Logan Paul later this month in England, outspoken Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Dillon Danis has called for a potential UFC debut fight against welterweight striker, Kevin Holland, describing a hypothetical clash with the Riverside native as an “easy fight”.

Danis, who boasts an unbeaten 2-0 professional mixed martial arts record, is slated to return to combat sports competition for the first time in over four years, most recently landing a first round armbar win over Max Humphrey at Bellator 222 in New York.

And set to make a return in the co-main event of a boxing card in London, New Jersey grappling sensation, Danis takes on podcast host and professional wrestling talent, Paul in a much-anticipated and bad-blooded boxing match.

Weighing up his future in mixed martial arts ahead of the clash, however, Danis expressed an interest in a potential move to the UFC – outlining his willingness to fight former lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz, claiming himself and the Stockton veteran have a history.

“If I go to the UFC give me a (sic) easy fight I’ll take Kevin Holland,” Dillon Danis posted on his official X account.

In a swift reply to Danis, Holland claimed the New Jersey grappler should first seek out a rematch with a bouncer who infamously choked him out last year, before even thinking of making a move to the UFC.

“Get in line bucko,” Kevin Holland posted on X. “Maybe we can get you a rematch on #DWCS against this guy first? Win that and Dana (White) might just give you a contract to the big leagues.”

In 2019, Dillon Danis appeared to be on the cusp of a successful mixed martial arts career.

After making a name for himself as a world-class BJJ specialist, Dillon Danis moved from the mat to the cage and scored back-to-back first-round submissions under the Bellator banner. Things appeared to be full steam ahead for Danis, but a series of devastating knee injuries derailed everything.

As a result, Danis found himself in an incredibly dark place. During an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Danis revealed that during his recovery, Danis regularly drowned his sorrows with alcohol and contemplated whether or not his life was still one worth living.

“It got to the point where I didn’t know if I was going to be alive again,” Danis said. “There’s a lot of people with a lot more problems than me. You go from training, being so good, and then just sitting there in a cast, can’t move, don’t know if you’re ever going to be the same. Twice in the same year. You get into a dark place. You start drinking, you do bad things. And then all you do is just drink all day” (h/t MMA News).

Dillon Danis’ New Lease on Life

In recent years, Dillon Danis has seemingly found a new lease on life by becoming one of social media’s most prominent trolls. That reputation has landed him an opportunity to compete for the first time in more than four years on October 14. Danis is scheduled to make his boxing debut against WWE Superstar Logan Paul as part of Misfits Boxing’s ‘The PRIME Card’ in Manchester.

Determined to make the most of the opportunity, Danis put his skills to work by launching an all-out online attack on Paul and his fiancee, Danish swimsuit model Nina Agdal. In August, Danis saw his social media numbers skyrocket as a result, with an insane two billion impressions and more than doubling his follower count. Unfortunately, Danis may have taken things a little too far, prompting Agdal to file a lawsuit against Danis for allegedly violating state and federal ‘revenge porn’ laws.

Despite the pending litigation, everything continues to be full steam ahead when it comes to his clash with Logan Paul later this month.

Dillon Danis expects to move to the UFC soon eyes future fight with Nate Diaz we've history

Preoccupied by an expected professional boxing match with YouTuber and professional wrestling star, Logan Paul later this month in London, Bellator MMA welterweight and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Dillon Danis has claimed he expects to eventually fight under the UFC banner – welcoming a potential clash with former title challenger, Nate Diaz.

Danis, a hugely-outspoken grappler, is slated to co-headline a boxing card in London, England later this month, taking on Paul beneath a headliner between UK rapper and YouTuber, KSI, and reality television star, Tommy Fury – the half-brother of incumbent WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.

Dillon Danis expects eventual move to the UFC

And sharing a distinct and hugely-controversial run-up to his fight with Ohio native, Fury, Danis has notably targeted the former’s fianceé, Nina Agdal, Danis has received his fair share of criticizm across his social media platforms, however, has claimed he expects to soon take his promotion and talents to the UFC.

“Yes,” Dillon Danis told MMA Fighting regarding the chances of a future move to the UFC. “Or if the money is good, Jake Paul or KSI [in boxing]. Maybe. Tempting. It would be big, Imagine (Paul) to avenge his brother? In reality, who does Jake have to fight? Besides Tommy, if Tommy loses. Someone else? You know who I wanna box – Nate Diaz. We have a history. It’s not far off the table.”

Undefeated in mixed martial arts, New Jersey-born grappler, Danis most recently landed a first round armbar submission win over Max Humphrey back in June 2019, however, has since been sidelined through a slew of knee injuries suffered in recent years.

Dillon Danis has no interest in going to the Professional Fighters League unless it’s for a fight with Jake Paul.

On October 14, Danis is scheduled to step inside the ring with Jake Paul’s older brother, Logan Paul, as part of Misfits Boxing’s ‘The PRIME Card’ in Manchester. Ahead of his long-awaited return to competition, Dillon Danis joined Ariel Helwani in studio during the latest episode of The MMA Hour to discuss his upcoming boxing debut and what could potentially come next.

Helwani suggested that the PFL could be a good home for Danis, a notion that the BJJ specialist quickly scoffed at, saying:

“Only way I’ll go to PFL is if they give me the Jake Paul fight,” Danis said. “I don’t want to fight nobody in the PFL. They’re all losers.”

Helwani responded to Danis by pointing out that the PFL had just signed one of the best heavyweight fighters in the world, Francis Ngannou. That only encouraged Danis to double down on his comments, suggesting that he would handily beat ‘The Predator’ in a fight.

“You know I’d beat Francis,” Danis added. “That’s not a lie. I’ll pull guard so easy. He’s terrible. Heavyweights are known to be the worst technical fighters of all time. Even in wrestling and jiu-jitsu, they’re all terrible.

We’ll just put that into the overflowing file of fantastical claims made by Dillon Danis.

Dillon Danis Suggests He May Not Show Up on October 14

Dillon Danis was once considered to be the laughingstock of the MMA community. And to some he still is, but Danis has found a massive following online in recent weeks after he relentlessly trolled Logan Paul’s fiancee, Nina Agdal on social media. Last month, Danis’ account on X had an absolutely insane two billion impressions, and he had more than doubled his follower count, all by making light of Agdal’s alleged history with past partners.

Some have suggested that with Dillon Danis’ newfound fame online, he may try to find a way out of his fight with Logan Paul in the UK. Danis added some fuel to that fire during his conversation with Helwani on Monday.

At this point, why do I even show up,” Danis said while referring to the fact that he is receiving zero pay-per-view points despite doing more than anyone to draw attention to the event.

Former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor has revealed that despite plans to train Straight Blast Gym training partner, Dillon Danis for his upcoming October boxing match with Logan Paul, the pair failed to link up amid a recent training camp in Cannes, France.

McGregor, a former undisputed featherweight and lightweight champion under the banner of the UFC, has been sidelined from the Octagon amid a fractured leg suffered back in 2021, in his trilogy rubber match loss to former interim titleholder, Dustin Poirier.

And despite initially laying out plans for a December return this year at the welterweight limit against Michael Chandler, McGregor has since seen that timeframe quashed, with UFC CEO, Dana White instead confirming how he expects the Crumlin striker to instead make a return in 2024.

Sharing his thoughts on Danis’ upcoming professional boxing debut against the outspoken, Paul next month in the UK, McGregor remains non-committal on if he would even attend the showcase, before revealing he never got the chance to train Danis for the bout.

I know he’s doing well, he’s still training and he’s gonna go for it. He’s had a baby, he had a new baby so I tried to bring him out. Dillon’s good.” (H/T TalkSPORT)

In recent weeks, footage has emerged of Danis training alongside former undisputed middleweight UFC champion, Alex Pereira in Connecticut – as the Brazilian prepares for his own fighting return at UFC 295 in November at Madison Square Garden, taking on Jiri Prochazka for the vacant light heavyweight title.
