Jake Paul wanted to box Floyd Mayweather and he wanted it to be a pro fight.

Mayweather had an exhibition match back in June against Logan Paul, the brother of Jake, and after that, he said he’s likely done boxing for good. However, Paul has made it clear he too, wants the chance to box Mayweather and he revealed he actually DM’d the undefeated boxer to set up a fight and he believes he would’ve finished Mayweather had they boxed.

“I don’t do exhibitions. I told Floyd, I actually messaged him and I said ‘Yo, if you want to do a real pro fight at a weight class, then let’s do it,’” Paul said to Mirror. “But I think he’s going to retire and that’s probably what’s best for him because my brother is a great fighter, but I’m just built different. I would have taken Floyd out and that wouldn’t be good for him.”

Floyd Mayweather, Jake Paul

Although Paul wanted to box Mayweather, as he says, it likely won’t happen due to the fact Mayweather does appear to be retired and only interested in exhibition fights. However, his nickname is “Money” and perhaps if the money is right he would box the brash YouTuber-turned-boxer to make tens of millions of dollars, if not hundreds of millions.

If Paul doesn’t get to box Mayweather, who he will fight next is uncertain. He’s coming off a split decision win over Tyron Woodley and there has been talk of the rematch, especially after Woodley got the tattoo. Another name in the mix is Tommy Fury, but the Brit has turned down what Paul has offered him as he said $1 million flat rate is not enough for the magnitude of the bout.

For now, Paul is back training and awaiting his next fight as the 4-0 pro boxer has taken over the combat sports world.

Anderson Silva was on the MMA hour talking about his next possible move in boxing after beating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Tito Ortiz.

The former UFC champion and one of the best MMA fighters of all time, ‘The Spider’ has burst onto the boxing scene this past year. Now that he has shown how fantastic he is at boxing, he is linked to some “big name” boxers. The 46 year old fighter apparently has some options in the near future. Silva sat down with Ariel Helwani to talk about his future in the world of boxing.

“When I finished the fight with Tito and I saw on my Twitter and my Instagram, everybody talking ‘you need to fight with [Floyd] Mayweather! I don’t know, that’s insane! I don’t know if I can fight on the same level as Mayweather but this is a challenge for me.I don’t know, maybe this happens or not. I’m prepared for that. I just try to do my best everyday and I think this is a good fight, me and Mayweather. Two big names and a different level. I go try to prove why I’m there to fight with Mayweather. I don’t know if this happens or not but I’m prepared for a good challenge for myself.”

In the interview, Silva also talked about the possibility of a fight with either Jake or Logan Paul as well. Silva’s ability to perform at a high level and surprise a lot of people has been a great thing to see. He has resurrected his combat sports career after a rough last couple of years inside the octagon.

When we maybe thought the draw for MMA fighters vs Boxers was at a peak, Silva comes out and says he’s willing to fight Mayweather. Tyron Woodley has also gotten the tattoo to possibly light the flame to a rematch against Jake Paul. Expect more SIlva news in the next coming weeks, as Showtime will try and make a fight with his sooner rather than later.

After a tough end to a legendary career in the cage, Anderson Silva is finding new life inside the ring.

Since retiring from MMA, Silva has gone 2-0 in the sweet science. “The Spider” surprised many when he put a clinic on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June. More recently, Silva left Tito Ortiz face down on the canvas when the pair faced off on the Vitor Belfort/Evander Holyfield undercard.

And it seems as though the former UFC champion is awaiting his next opponent. Silva claims fans are calling for him to fight fellow combat sports legend, Floyd Mayweather.

“When I finished the fight with Tito and I saw on my Twitter and my Instagram, everybody talking ‘you need to fight with [Floyd] Mayweather!’” Silva said on The MMA Hour. “I don’t know, that’s insane! I don’t know if I can fight on the same level as Mayweather but this is a challenge for me.

Of course, there is a massive size difference between Mayweather and Silva. Mayweather generally weighed in around 130-150 lbs through most of his career, while Silva’s last fight was at 205lbs. Silva says the bout could be an exhibition like Mayweather vs. Logan Paul was.

And speaking of the Paul brothers, Silva also addressed the Youtubers turned boxers on the show. When asked about the possibility of him meeting one of them in the ring, Silva responded that he doesn’t know who is next. He’ll continue to train daily until he gets a call. But in discussing the Pauls, the MMA great was less cynical and disparaging than many of his colleagues.

“A lot of people talking about that [fight with Logan Paul], but I respect both kids,” Silva said. “Because the kids are so smart, but I prefer to stay on my side training hard and don’t say something about the kids. Because the kids are doing a good job.

“People need to respect them both, because both kids are doing something special. The kids prove this world has changed.”

Oscar De La Hoya has dished out quite the offer to Floyd Mayweather.

Back in May 2007, De La Hoya and Mayweather competed in one of the most lucrative bouts in boxing history. Mayweather ended up winning the fight via split decision. The bout generated over $130 million in revenue. The PPV took in 2.4 million buys.

There was talk of a potential rematch but Mayweather ended up having a brief retirement. De La Hoya’s efforts against Mayweather ended up marking the last of him in prime form. He defeated Steve Forbes in a lackluster performance before being decimated by Manny Pacquiao, which led to his own retirement.

De La Hoya has been planning to make his comeback. He was going to face Vitor Belfort on Sept. 11 but he ended up getting COVID-19 and was forced out of the bout. Triller is hoping to rebook De La Hoya vs. Belfort on Thanksgiving weekend.

TMZ Sports caught up with Oscar De La Hoya, who laid out a massive offer to fight Mayweather again.

“You know who I’m gonna call out for my next fight? Floyd Mayweather. I’ll offer Floyd Mayweather $100 million.”

Mayweather retired from pro boxing competition back in Aug. 2017. He defeated Conor McGregor via 10th-round TKO to end his career with a perfect record of 50-0. Since that time, Mayweather has dabbled into exhibition bouts against Tenshin Nasukawa and Logan Paul.

For a while now, the idea of a Ronda Rousey versus Floyd Mayweather fight of some kind has intrigued casual fans. They’re similarly sized, Rousey is amazingly dominant against other women, Mayweather is hated for his history of domestic abuse and being unrepentant about it, Mayweather is “just a boxer” while Rousey is a mixed martial artist, etc. Of course, it would never, ever happen in real life for a number of reasons, the most obvious one being that no athletic commission would ever sanction any kind of man vs. woman fight.

Game designer Richie Branson found a way to have some fun and give everyone a little taste of what they want. In the legendary Street Fighter series of video games, man vs. woman fights are common, and the legacy female fighters (especially Chun-Li) are hugely popular among the fanbase. These days, a lot of PC games have enthusiastic fans known as modders who modify all sorts of things and release add-ons that can affect just about anything from graphics to sounds to gameplay. So what Branson did was dig around in the PC version of Street Fighter IV, and play with the graphics to make something approximating Floyd Mayweather vs. Ronda Rousey.

Here’s what Branson wrote in his YouTube post (video embedded at the top of the article) showing off his work:

Well, now we know who would win if Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey fought. I got bored and decided to play around with some texture files in my PC installation of Street Fighter IV. The result is this Mayweather vs. Rousey mod, lol. To eliminate bias, i simulated the Mayweather v. Rousey fight with both fighters controlled by the CPU. I’ll be making these edited skins available over the weekend! Special thanks to Ayiep27, and Farcryer.

Anderson Silva Floyd Mayweather

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is just days removed from his vicious knockout over Tito Ortiz in his latest boxing fight, and he’s already looking at a step up in competition against Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather.

Silva has two wins in the ring so far in 2021, with a split-decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to go with his first-round knockout of Ortiz. Many felt that Ortiz could give Silva a lot of issues with his size and durability, but that proved to be completely false.

Silva’s longtime boxing coach, Luiz Dorea, recently spoke to AG Fight in an interview and endorsed Mayweather as Silva’s next potential challenge in the boxing world.

“I think the one fight that should happen was between Floyd Mayweather and Anderson Silva,” Dorea said. “One of the greatest boxing athletes against one of the greatest MMA in the world. I think I could have a deal. These fights against YouTubers can happen too because Anderson wants something that motivates him. We will have good news soon.”

Silva had previously been rumored to face the controversial YouTuber Logan Paul, although negotiations never materialized. Silva went on to blast through Ortiz which opened the conversation up to tougher challenges for him in the ring.

Mayweather fought Paul in a boxing exhibition this summer, with no winner named. However, Paul was considered the unofficial winner for lasting a full fight with one of the greatest of all time.

Silva barely broke a sweat in his last fight with Ortiz, bobbing and weaving through a barrage of punches to set up the knockout blow. As of right now, it’s unclear as to whether or not Mayweather will return to the sport that he once dominated as a multiple-division world champion.

Do you think Anderson Silva and Floyd Mayweather could box in the near future? How would the fight play out?
