Amidst a deadly crew of English-speaking, Russian sleeper cells, a lone FBI agent, code name Gull of the Sea (at his request), was able to infiltrate a remote, Russian facility, like so, and record the following video of the illegal toe hold technology that the Russians have been building up for years.

I know, shocking and disturbing stuff. Word has it that Rousimar Palhares saw this and completely leveled his three building shantytown in under 60 seconds. Even more horrifying is the fact that these sleeper cell Sambo practitioners seem to be at least part machine, because there is no other way to justify how quickly that dude was able to switch from the foot grab to the toe hold in all of modern physics.
Now, I know what your thinking, “Agent Seagal is blatantly hanging that camera out there for everyone to see. Is he insane?” Well the answer breaks down like this:
1. If Brazil has yet to see the dawn of computers, then Russia cannot possibly have discovered video camera technology at this point in time. Or photography for that matter.
2. Yes, yes he fucking is.

For those of you who are new here, first off, welcome. Still here? Good. Try not to act too surprised, but Shinya Aoki managed to dump another striker on his back and work for a submission last night. While Rob McCullough managed to get back to his feet after Aoki’s first takedown, he proceeded to do absolutely nothing until getting taken down again. Another impressive performance from Aoki, albeit against questionable competition.
In other non-tournament action, Takeshi Inoue dazzled the Japanese crowd with a head kick knockout of Caol Uno. Sorry, we don’t have a video of that for you. In far more predictable news, Tatsuya Kawajiri submitted Joachim Hansen with an arm triangle in the third round, Sakuraba lost yet another fight, this time to Yan Cabral, Gerald Harris picked up a split decision victory over Kazuhiro Nakamura and Ikuhisa Minowa submitted another oversized freak, Baru Harn. And yes, we actually DO have a video of that.
In Bantamweight World Grand Prix action, UFC veteran Antonio Banuelos picked up a split decision victory over Hideo Tokoro. This fight was his first since being canned by the UFC after a unanimous decision loss to Miguel Torres at UFC 126. Bibiano Fernandes, Masakazu Imanari, and Rodolfo Marques also advanced to the next round with victories last night.

When we learned that the match between UFC veteran Phil Baroni and 23-year-old prospect Brad Tavares would indeed be aired before the UFC 125 pay-per-view broadcast this Saturday, it reminded me of our last chat with the New York Bad Ass on episode 11.1 of the Bum Rush Radio Show. Baroni has reached that point in his career where youngsters are trying to make their names off of him, and he has to beat them if he wants his own name to retain its value. I asked Phil if he felt like the last in a bygone generation of fighters, considering that so many of his rivals are no longer competing. And I thought his response was worth sharing again…

There are exceptions of course, but nine times out of ten the best videos come from passionate fans who have no vested interest in the fighter, besides being entertained by them.

Mayhem hasn’t even fought for Strikeforce since he squashed Tim Stout in April, and Kennedy is still without an opponent himself after dropping a decision to Jacare Souza in August — and he’s already mentioned that he wants another go-round with Mayhem. Strikeforce has two talented, unattached middleweights at their disposal with a storyline already in place. It doesn’t take rocket appliances to figure this out, guys.
