Former UFC fighter, Nate Diaz’s new footage hitting has fans worried about his chances in his upcoming boxing match with Jake Paul.

It is just over a month away from Diaz’s first fight outside the UFC since 2006 when he competed in the WEC against Hermes Franca. Now though, Diaz will turn his hand to the boxing ring and after much back-and-forth on social media, will face influencer turned boxer, Paul.

While Diaz primary striking weapons were his hands, there is still big questions on how this will translate over to the squared circle, particularly after how previous examples of MMA fighters making the transition have gone in the past.

Just to add to the worry that Diaz fans might feel, the Stockton banger recently released footage of him hitting pads, and it doesn’t do much for the confidence.

While it is never smart to make a snap judgement on a short bit of training footage – they could be focusing more on movement, or it could have been a burn out right after a hard workout, but on the surface it isn’t the best. Diaz’s success with his boxing throughout his MMA tenure was also accompanied with elite cardio and durability as well as the threat of his dangerous BJJ game.

The result is certainly not a forgone conclusion, but to Paul’s credit he has made visible improvements over the years and has decent pop in his shots.

Nate Diaz vs. Jake Paul is set for August 5. in Dallas

The event will be held on August 5 in Dallas, Texas and will be contested over eight rounds in the American Airlines Center.

Paul will attempt to get back to winning ways sine his first loss at the hands of Tommy Fury back in Febaury.

Michael Bisping is pulling no punches after Jake Paul decided to antagonize the former middleweight champion on Twitter.

Jake Paul will return to the squared circle on August 5 for a professional boxing clash with ex-UFC fan favorite Nate Diaz. In the meantime, ‘The Problem Child’ has been living up to his moniker, targeting practically anyone in the world of combat sports that he could potentially make a dollar off of. That includes current UFC commentator Michael Bisping who revealed that the social media star has been sneaking into his DMs to talk sh*t for no apparent reason.

“I’ll tell you what I think, I think Jake Paul’s a little d*ckhead,” Bisping said on his YouTube channel. “He’s been sending me DMs on Twitter again. I don’t know what prompted this one, I don’t know, maybe six months ago, maybe a bit less, he just came at me on Twitter, started talking a lot of crap, this is direct messages by the way, I won’t go into the exact details. We went back and forth for a bit, you know what I mean, I was just kind of laughing at him, he was all upset.

Michael Bisping Taken Aback by Jake Paul Attacking Him in DMs

“The reality is I don’t know Jake Paul,” Bisping continued. “I’m sure he’s not a bad person, you know, he talks a lot of crap, he’s doing his thing, he’s promoting himself, but I don’t know him, I’ve never met him. And I’ve never said anything personal about him, all I’ve ever said is that I wish the guy would fight a boxer” (h/t MMA News).

Michael Bisping did ultimately reveal what Jake Paul said to him that set him off.

“He said, ‘How does Dana’s nuts taste? I don’t know where that came from… So I said, ‘How does Tommy’s uppercut taste?’”

After starting his career going 6-0 in the sweet science, Jake Paul suffered his first loss against Tommy Fury in February by way of a split decision. He’ll attempt to climb back into the win column this summer as he welcomes Nate Diaz to the world of professional boxing. ‘The Problem Child’ is also expected to make his mixed martial arts debut under the PFL banner in late 2023 or early 2024.

Jake Paul hits out at Nate Diaz he doesn't say sh*t in person UFC boxing match

According to Jake Paul himself, Stocktons own Nate Diaz has turned down an MMA fight against him. This comes as surprising news, but as of yet there has been no actual proof provided by Paul that Diaz in fact got an offer for an MMA fight and turned it down.

The Youtube sensation is set to face down the famed MMA fighter Nate Diaz in a boxing match in August. Paul has been active in the boxing world since making his debut in 2018. Once a full-time Youtuber, the man has now launched a career in the combat sports world as well.

According to Paul, he was open to fighting Diaz in the cage but for some reason, the long-time MMA veteran declined the offer. Whether the money wasn’t up to par, or whatever reason, Paul did not disclose the reason why. Nor has Nate Diaz brought this up to confirm or deny it.

Over the years, Paul has faced many big names in the sport. He finished Ben Askren before going to a split decision against Tyron Woodley. In the rematch with Woodley, Jake Paul knocked him out viciously. Next, a battle with the legend Anderson Silva resulted in a decision victory for Paul. However, the Youtuber’s unbeaten streak would end when he faced Tommy Fury in February of this year.

Jake Paul and Nate Diaz set to clash in August

As for Nate Diaz, one can assume he’s been training hard for his upcoming boxing fight. The thing about both of the Diaz brothers is that while they don’t look the most physically menacing, and come off as very lackadaisical, the two men have been known to always stay in shape. In fact, it’s been said the two have marathon-level endurance, and this has been backed up by their performances in the cage.

One can imagine that if Nate Diaz can simply wear on Jake Paul and tire him out, he could easily overwhelm the man with his excellent offensive output. However, ‘The Problem Child’ is known to be a powerful striker and with the scar tissue covering Diaz’s face, this fight could be in danger of getting stopped due to a cut.

However, the same can be said for every Nate Diaz fight, so whether that’s just a paranoid observation or a valid concern remains to be seen. Regardless, while the press conference for the fight was very lackluster, fans are looking forward to this match and hoping for a very memorable fight.

Jake Paul offers optimistic resolution to the current Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones situation.

Yesterday, it was revealed that that Ngannou had signed a monumental deal with the PFL after leaving the UFC earlier this year. While many took the opportunity to congratulate ‘The Predator’ for the achievement once proposed foe, Jones, certainly did not.

The two had been tipped to face one another, the fight ultimately fell through but that hasn’t stopped them from going back and forth.

Calling yourself the baddest man on the planet from across the street, who does that? Lol’- Jones Tweeted following the news.

Then cross the street’- Ngannou replied.

Jake Paul proposes a solution

Paul also announced that he had signed a deal with PFL earlier this year, and of course chimed in with his own idea.

Or let’s have PFL and UFC work together and put on a massive event on ESPN. Ngannou vs Jones, Nunes vs Harrison, Edwards vs Doumbe & of course Diaz vs Paul after I knock his ass out in boxing. Francis, Kayla, Cedric you in?‘- Jake Paul

While Paul’s idea is a nice one, it is about as unrealistic as it gets. Cross promotion in MMA is rare, and when it comes to the biggest competitors in the space – unheard of. Paul may think his handful of fights as a glorified white collar boxer may be enough for him to be a combat sports strategist and matchmaker but, anyone who has the any clue would know that this ‘event’ would never happen.

Still though, PFL are making significant effort in levelling the playing field with the UFC, who have dominated the sport for some time now. Hopefully all these moves, singing and expansion lead to a better product for the fans.

Ticket sales for the upcoming Jake Paul Vs. Nate Diaz fight is off to a good start according to reports.

The combat sports world is just under three months away from another twist to the strange shape the boxing landscape has taken. Influencer turned boxer, Paul will fight UFC legend, Diaz, across either three minute rounds on August 5 in Dallas, Texas.

Although we are still some time away, the star power of both men seems to be to be a recipe for success. According to reports from the Sports Business Journal, the event sold 60% of the tickets in their first week, which includes 90% of the floor and lower-bowl seats.

The American Airlines Center has a capacity of around 20,000, and although the tickets for this fight are priced higher than some of Paul’s most recent events it has already exceeded bigger gates than other Paul fights.

There is still VIP floor seats that were still available today on Ticketmaster’s website going for as much as $3,506, while lower-bowl seats priced at $131.50.

Jake Paul Vs. Nate Diaz

While Jake Paul has certainly built his own star, with his last fight against Tommy Fury being a commercial success, it would be unfair to deny that Diaz will also play. Paul skills as a boxer have also made significant advancement, and while he is far off a decent level professional he will also hold a size and youth advantage over the 38-year-old.

Diaz’s toughness is now something of legend and his boxing had always been one of the strongest parts of his game – along with stories of sparring sessions with one of boxing best fighters of the 2010’s, Andre Ward. However, we are yet to see how Diaz will take to the squared circle, something which MMA fighters have struggled with in the past.
