Dana White believes the confrontation between Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul earlier this week was nothing more than a stunt.

On Wednesday evening, ‘Money’ rolled up on Jake Paul outside of the Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game. Mayweather and his entourage approached ‘The Problem Child’ and the two parties shared some words before Paul ran away, knowing he was in an unfavorable situation. Paul later used the altercation as an opportunity to call for a fight with Mayweather on Instagram.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, UFC president Dana White shared his thoughts on the incident, believing it was nothing more than a publicity stunt between the two to muster up attention for a potential fight.

Dana White Calls Bullsh*t on Floyd Mayweather/Jake Paul Incident

“I just can’t see Floyd doing that,” White said. “I can’t see Floyd rolling up on somebody and doing that. It’s not Floyd’s style. It’s not really his personality. I thought it was a skit.”

“I’m not buying it,” Dana White continued. When’s the last time you saw Floyd Mayweather act like a thug and roll up on somebody with 50 people? That’s just not what Floyd does. Yeah, I’m not buying it.”

After TMZ released video of the incident, sources associated with Mayweather claimed that they were not lying in wait for Jake Paul outside of the arena, but was upset over comments made by Paul that the boxing icon believes crossed the line. “Jake crossed the line. This wasn’t about grabbing a hat. This was about Jake’s comments to Floyd about Floyd’s deceased family member and other below-the-belt inappropriate behavior,” a source associated with Mayweather said.

Addressing the situation on social media Paul said, “You wanna run it one on one, no problem. But I’m not dumb. Okay? I’m tough, I don’t need to prove my toughness., but I’m not f*cking dumb. I’m not gonna sit there and try to fight 50 dudes.

Jorge Masvidal Jake Paul ready for the heat

The UFC’s ‘BMF’ Jorge Masvidal is open to a potential fight with Jake Paul, but he does not believe Paul can handle him.

Since his split decision against Tommy Fury in the first professional loss of Paul’s boxing career, he certainly has not failed to make headlines.

Paul was seen running away from the altercation which generated intense criticism online.

Just two days ago, TMZ captured video of Paul being confronted by Floyd Mayweather and his team after a Miami Heat game.

Masvidal and Paul, who have discussed a boxing event in the past, don’t exactly get along either.

Although, this was not always the case. When Paul was preparing for his boxing match with Ben Askren, Jorge Masvidal took Paul in and helped him prepare for the fight.

Once Paul defeated Askren and signed a contract to fight former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, that’s where things started to go downhill.

“Yeah, so he started acting like a h*e. He switched up randomly one day; it was like. You know he has the same manager as Tyron, so of course, when I signed the deal with Tyron and then boom like he’s instantly like ‘F**k Jake Paul, Tyron’s going to beat this guy’s ass’. But I’m like, weren’t you the one asking me to hang out and do your little YouTube videos and shit?”

Their feud began to escalate and Paul ended up offering Jorge Masvidal $5 million plus a percentage of the pay-per-view to entice him into a fight.

Masvidal responded to the offer on Twitter, and not much word of the matchup developed since then.

Jorge Masvidal distances himself from potential Jake Paul fight

However, since Paul’s defeat to Fury, Masvidal took his thoughts to the DAZN Boxing Show, and said that he still believes Paul would not stand a chance against him.

“Jake Paul wouldn’t be ready for that heat,” Jorge Masvidal said.

The 38-year-old MMA veteran has rallied 50 professional fights up to this point in his career, with his stardom peaking in 2019 as he headlined Madison Square Garden for the ‘BMF’ belt.

Masival has not yet given up on his UFC title dreams after failing to dethrone Kamaru Usman twice, and he will return at UFC 287 to face the dangerous Gilbert Burns.

As for Paul, there are countless opportunities that await him, while a rematch with Fury seems to be the most likely to happen.

Earlier this week, footage was released detailing a heated altercation between Paul and Mayweather – as well as a slew of the Michigan native’s entourage during a Miami Heat game, in which Paul is threatened with physical violence.

Chael Sonnen slams Floyd Mayweather for Jake Paul altercation

Sharing his thoughts on the incident, Sonnen, claimed that the perpertrators were “cowardly” and “disgusting”.

“I watch the video and there’s all sorts of problems with this,” Chael Sonnen said on his YouTube channel. “First off, it is Floyd (Mayweather) and it is people with him. When you start to count them on camera, you come out to about four, but when you hear there was six, there was eight, 20, 50 … It makes it sound like there was more, maybe we didn’t see them, alright. All the rest of the story was true, I guess we should believe that.”

“You come out and this is a crime,” Chael Sonnen explained. “This is disgusting and this is cowardly what they did, but it’s a crime. Now you have one of Floyd’s people filmed the crime. That’s your real story. You’ve got to be a special kind of stupid. He films a crime and they intidimate Jake and the one guy says, “Hey, ya’ll. Should we rough him up?’ That right there becomes illegal. Then the guy answers his own question, ‘Yeah, let’s rough him up.” (Transcribed by MMA Fighting

In footage posted by TMZ, Paul can be seen on camera alongside Mayweather and a slew of the latter’s entourage – with a member of the group asking when they plan on “busting” up the outspoken Ohio native.

Attempting to back away from the entourage, which Paul claims was at least 50 deep, the YouTuber then back pedals entirely, and runs from the situation, with members of Mayweather’s team goading him and questioning why he is sprinting away.

“So I’m leaving the Miami Heat game and Floyd Mayweather and 50 dudes pull up out of nowhere,” Jake Paul posted on Instagram. “Out of some side alley waiting for me outside of the stadium. They’re like, ‘What’s up, what’s all that talk now?’”

“I’m like, first of all, what did I say to you Floyd?” Jake Paul continues. “I just took your hat and you’re still mad about it? Come on, bro. Then 50 dudes literally start surrounding me trying to jump me. I’m out that b*tch.”

With talks of a potential July rematch with Fury rumbling on, Paul recently claimed that a wet dream ahead of his February fight with the former Love Island contestant ruined his preparations for the fight – leading to a diminished performance.
