Israel Adesanya Alexander Volkanovski Logan Paul Prime

Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski have now been named as the first official athletes to be sponsored/partnered by Logan Paul’s Prime energy drink.

Paul and his company Prime announced a three-year deal with the UFC in February of 2023. The deal made Prime the “Official Sports Drink” of the UFC and secured Prime promotion at the UFC’s performance institute and on-air during the fights.

Prime branding was also made to be seen in-between rounds, and their logo was even added to the red and blue stools the fighters would sit on during the short one-minute break they receive. The assets started to flood in at UFC 284 and Prime has been a featured part of the UFC since then.

Now, it seems Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski are taking things a step further, by officially becoming partnered representatives of Prime themselves, and making a little bit of Prime history in doing so.

Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski sign with Prime, much to the disapproval of fans on Twitter

While the signing is indeed historic, many fans were not too happy about this deal. Logan and Jake Paul do not get a lot of love in MMA, and the Prime deal was met with a lot of backlash to begin with when it was officially announced.

“Life finds the weirdest ways to disappoint you,” one fan said on Twitter. “Two of our favorite fighters (in Israel Adesanya and Alex Volkanovski) and they sold their souls to Logan? Nice,” another fan said sarcastically.

Another fan expressed their distaste for the deal, and mentioned that other fighters with less name value could really have benefitted from the deal: “So many other up-and-comers that deserved this sponsorship money. These guys are multi-millionaires. Pocket change money, people like Joaquin Buckley and Matthew Frevola would of been life-changing for them.”

Logan Paul grapples with both Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski ahead of their respective athletic events

Paul famously made the transition to boxing, fighting fellow influencer KSI twice and Floyd Mayweather in 2021, winning none of those contests, but he has also previously mentioned he would be interested in also competing in MMA. Paul had previously called out lightweight Paddy Pimblett, following the classic Paul playbook of picking opponents much smaller than themselves.

While Paul has not had the most successful into combat sports, he did enjoy a good amateur wrestling career in high school. Now though, Paul has taken up professional wrestling and made a very successful leap into the WWE, being well received by fans.

As for Volkaonvski and Adesanya, the latter is expected to make his return in September of this year to headline UFC 293. The opponent is set to be the winner of fellow middleweights Robert Whittaker and Dricus Du Plessis, who will fight on UFC 290.

Also on 290, will be Volkanovski, who is headlining the event against interim featherweight champion, Yair Rodriguez. Should he win, it will mark ‘The Great’s fifth successful title defence and will be yet another 145lb contender squashed, leaving very little in terms of viable options for the Australian. Volkanovski could find himself moving up, attempting to capture the lightweight title after his extremely impressive first attempt against Islam Makhachev earlier this year, pushing the Dagestani to the very limit across five rounds.

Ex-Boxing world champion Mike Tyson ready for WWE showdown with Logan Paul ‘I would kick his f*cking ass’

Mike Tyson

Iron’ Mike Tyson is ready to make his return to the squared circle, but it may not be the one you’re thinking of.

Known the world over as one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport, Mike Tyson also holds the distinction of being a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. Tyson was inducted in 2012, 14 years removed from his iconic first appearance with the promotion to help market the Wrestlemania XIV main event between surging superstar ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and cocky veteran Shawn Michaels.

Fans old enough to have witnessed the January 19, 1998 episode of Monday Night Raw likely remember the chaotic scene as Mike Tyson and Steve Austin got into an all-out brawl inside the WWE ring. The moment propelled ‘Stone Cold’ to unparalleled popularity in sports entertainment which in turn allowed the promotion to win the ‘Monday Night Wars’ against longtime rival WCW.

In a recent interview with Forbes, Mike Tyson reflected on his time with WWE and revealed that as a lifelong professional wrestling fan, he took inspiration from some of the biggest heels in the industry, using those characteristics to establish himself as boxing’s bad guy.

“I’m in the wrestling Hall of Fame,” Tyson said proudly. “I loved wrestling all my life. The Valiant Brothers, Bruno Sammartino, that’s just who I was: the arrogant talker and the bad guy who people booed. That’s when I realized you can’t remember the good guy without the bad guy. That’s what makes the good guy famous, is the bad guy. The good guy is nothing without the bad guy, the bad guy is the biggest draw. That’s why Floyd Mayweather and myself were the biggest draws because we were the bad guys.”

Mike Tyson Walked So Individuals Like Logan Paul Could Run

Today, Mike Tyson sees a generation of social media stars, like influencer-turned-WWE Superstar Logan Paul, taking their ability to incite emotion from a fanbase and parlaying it into success on a global stage, just as he did in both the boxing and pro wrestling ring years earlier.

“Hate is really close to love,” said Tyson. “And just as much as you could love somebody, you could always have the opportunity to hate him. And just like you could hate somebody, he’ll always give you the opportunity to love him because of how he handles his adversity.”

“When I see [Logan Paul] looking good and doing well, I always stick up for him because when he makes all the money himself, I get the credit, too,” Tyson continued. “Because without me he would have never had a platform. I don’t think he’s really that serious [about a boxing match], but I’m just happy he’s receiving the success that he has. For my ego, I feel I had so much to do with that.”

Asked if a clash with Logan Paul under the WWE banner would be enough to drag him out of retirement, Mike Tyson provided an emphatic answer.

“I would do it! I would kick his f*cking a**, yes I would do it. Even though I love him, though (laughs)” said Tyson. “This is what I found out about WrestleMania: Everybody says ‘that’s fake, that’s fake.’ But the check is real. Deep down inside—don’t let [WWE] know—I would do this for free.”

Jake Paul would never pass up the opportunity to take a dig at former UFC fan-favorite Nate Diaz.

‘The Problem Child’ did just that, mocking the Stockton Samurai in a video clip uploaded by the love-them-or-hate-them Paul brothers. Their latest upload comes less than 24 hours after Nate Diaz’s busy night in The Big Easy. In town for the DAZN Misfits 006 boxing event, the TUF alumnus got his evening started by chucking a water bottle at reality TV star Chase DeMoor, causing an impromptu ringside brawl that eventually spilled out into the streets.

Nate Diaz was far from done, getting into a scuffle with Logan Paul look-a-like Rodney Petersen shortly after the incident with DeMoor. Footage shot by a bystander clearly shows Diaz rendering Peterson unconscious with a standing guillotine choke before letting him drop to the ground, cracking the back of his head against the concrete.

Jake Paul Releases ‘Self-Defense’ Video in Response to Nate Diaz Street Fight Footage

Quick to take a dig at his next opponent inside the squared circle, Jake Paul alongside WWE Superstar brother Logan Paul performed a cringe-worthy skit on how to defend yourself in the streets from “a homeless Stockton man” if you happen to look like one of the buff blonde brothers.

“Today, we’re going to be teaching you what to do if you see a homeless Stockton man trying to come at you in the middle of the streets,” Jake says. “Now if you look anything like a Paul brother, keep your eyes peeled because the streets are hot.”

Fight fans can expect to see more content like this over the next few months as Jake Paul’s highly anticipated boxing match with Nate Diaz draws closer. Emanating from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, the two combat sports stars will square off on August 5 before Paul is expected to make his mixed martial arts debut for the Professional Fighters League.

Nate Diaz is fresh off a 15-year run with the UFC, going 16-11 inside the Octagon during his tenure. Diaz earned wins over some of the lightweight division’s biggest names over the last decade, including Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, Jim Miller, Gray Maynard, Conor McGregor, Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis, and Tony Ferguson.

Recent rumors suggest Nate Diaz will return to the UFC, presumably for a long-awaited trilogy bout with Conor McGregor, once he takes care of business with Jake Paul this summer.

The Logan Paul look-a-like that Nate Diaz choked out on the streets of New Orleans has been identified as Rodney Petersen.

The Stockton Samurai had a busy Friday night while attending the DAZN Misfits 006 boxing event in The Big Easy. Attending in support of teammate Chris Avila who was competing on the card, Nate Diaz got his night of mischief started by randomly launching a water bottle at reality TV star Chase DeMoor. The incident incited a brief scuffle inside the venue, but the action picked up once both men were outside the building. Footage of DeMoor throwing hands with Diaz’s entire team landed online, but what got everyone’s attention was another clip that clearly showed Diaz choking out a Logan Paul doppelganger in a separate incident.

In the now-viral footage, Nate Diaz can be seen locking in a standing guillotine choke on a bystander. Seconds later, Diaz allows the man to drop to the ground once losing consciousness.

Logan Paul Look-A-Like Reveals Injuries Suffered in Altercation with Nate Diaz

The man involved in the incident is Rodney Petersen who is known for his striking resemblance to PRIME Water chugging WWE Superstar Logan Paul. In a video clip shared by Twitter user @Overtflow, Petersen delivered his reaction to the seemingly random altercation with Nate Diaz.

“So I don’t know what I did to Nate Diaz, but I’m telling you what,” Petersen said. “I’m gonna knock him the f*ck out when I know he’s coming. You caught me off guard, dude. What, did you think I was Logan [Paul]?”

Towards the end of the clip, Petersen shows the back of his head, revealing a mess of blood-soaked blonde hair, likely from the tumble he took once rendered unconscious by the TUF alumn.

It’s unclear at this time if Nate Diaz will face any legal action for his Friday night activities. After securing a submission victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 last September, Diaz walked away after 15 years with the Las Vegas-based promotion. The man from 209 is now slated to make his professional boxing debut against social media sensation Jake Paul on August 5 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
