Former undisputed UFC middleweight champion has welcomed a heralded “good guy versus bad guy” matchup against undefeated welterweight contender, Khamzat Chimaev for his next Octagon outing – in typical, coy and reserved fashion from the fan favorite contender.

Whittaker, a former undisputed UFC middleweight champion, currently boasts the #2 rank in the official 185lbs pile, most recently featuring in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night Paris back in September of last year, rebounding to the winner’s enclosure in a unanimous decision win over Marvin Vettori.

Earlier that year, Whittaker headlined UFC 271 against former undisputed champion, Israel Adesanya, suffering a unanimous decision loss of his own in the pair’s championship rematch.

As for Chimaev, the unbeaten #3 ranked welterweight contender, has yet to return to the Octagon since he co-headlined UFC 279 back in September to boot, landing a one-sided first round D’Arce choke win over Kevin Holland.

Linked with a potential title-eliminator against Colby Covington or Belal Muhammad next, AllStars MMA staple, Chimaev has since welcomed a fight with New Zealand-born favorite, Whittaker.

“I think I will fight Robert Whittaker,” Khamzat Chimaev said. “He’s got no opponent. Paulo Costa ran away after talking that much about me and Robert. So, I will fight Whittaker. I want this fight although I like him as a human being. He is a solid guy, doesn’t talk trash, doesn’t cross any lines.”

Robert Whittaker remains coy on potential fight with Khamzat Chimaev

Reacting to Chimaev’s claims that he will fight him next, former champion, Whittaker remained receptive to the call out, in rather coy fashion, however.

“Oh yeah, cool,” Robert Whittaker said of the fight during an interview with Submission Radio. “Let’s do it. Whatever. Yeah, I don’t know. Like, if it’s a fight that gets presented to me, then it is what it is. Yeah, I think it’d be a good fight. I think he’d (Khamzat Chimaev) be a hard fight. I think he’s a phenomenal fighter. I think he has a lot of strengths. I think I have a lot of strengths. I think I’m a hard fighter for him just the same.”

“And I’m quite good with my hands, can stuff a lot of takedowns,” Robert Whittaker continued. “I’m hard to hold down – I’m squirmy, you see. Yeah, it’ll be an interesting fight. That’ll be a showstopper for sure. I’m sure it’ll get a lot people interested and excited.”

Former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor has taken aim at former One Direction star turned solo artist, Harry Styles following his attendance at the Grammy Awards earlier this week, mocking the award-winning musician’s choice of outfit for the award show.

McGregor, 34, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion under the banner of the UFC, has yet to return to the Octagon since suffering a fractured left tibia and fibula en route to a first round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.

Conor McGregor is set to make his UFC comeback against Michael Chandler

Recently booked for his next Octagon outing, McGregor, a native of Crumlin, is slated to coach on The Ultimate Fighter 31 against the current #5 ranked lightweight contender, Michael Chandler – ahead of a welterweight fight between the two later this year, potentially as soon as September next.

Sharing his thoughts on the Grammys appearance and outfit choice from 29-year-old music star, Styles this week on social media, McGregor claimed a dungarees-come-full-length dress and trouser set worn by the UK star, more so resembled that of a “freestyle wrestling” singlet. (H/T Mirror

Without a victory in his last two Octagon outings, McGregor will be tasked with rebounding from a two-fight losing skid for the first time in his professional mixed martial arts career in his 2023 comeback fight with Chandler.

Prior to his doctor’s stoppage defeat to Poirier, Conor McGregor suffered a second round knockout loss to the Louisiana native in January of that year in Abu Dhabi, UAE on ‘Fight Island’.

Coincidently, in his most recent professional victory, Conor McGregor featured at the welterweight limit of 170lbs against the now-retired, Donald Cerrone, stopping the Colorado native with a 40-second high-kick and strikes KO win in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Filming for McGregor’s Ultimate Fighter 31 season against Chandler is expected to take place in the coming weeks, ahead of a premiere at the end of May this year on the ESPN network, which will run until August.

UFC welterweight contender, Kevin Holland has claimed Prime hydration poster boys, professional boxers and social media influencers, Logan Paul, and KSI of lowballing fighters under the promotion’s banner, in a bid to gain promotion for their hydration drink brand.

Holland, a promotional staple following his move from Dana White’s Contender Series, most recently headlined UFC Fight Night Orlando against two-time welterweight title challenger, Stephen Thompson, suffering a fourth round doctor’s stoppage after facturing his hand in the earlier rounds.

The Riverside native, who will attempt to snap a two-fight losing skid against the above-mentioned, Thompson, and the surging unbeaten contender, Khamzat Chimaev, has been booked to return to the Octagon at UFC 287 on April 8. at the Miami Dade Arena in Miami, Florida against Argentine veteran, Santiago Ponzinibbio.

Recently, the UFC confirmed how they had inked a deal with the aforenoted, Paul, and KSI, – which would see Prime hydration become an official partner and sponsor of the organization, with the blue and red corners for fighters inside the Octagon also renamed to reflect the recently penned partnership.

Kevin Holland reveals he was contacted to help promote PRIME hydration

Sharing his thoughts on the Paul brothers – both the aforenoted, Logan, and undefeated professional boxer, Jake Paul, as well as UK musician and YouTuber, KSI – Holland claimed the Prime poster boys attempted to compensate him for publicity with free merchandise.

“Prime, yeah, I don’t know if it’s run by both of the [Paul] brothers? Both of the sisters?” Kevin Holland said during an appearance on Real Eyes Recognize. “And KSI. So, the Paul sisters and KSI, Mrs. KSI. Well look, these guys say that they are going for fighter advocates right? They’re all about fighters getting paid more.”

“Well, these f*ckers are trying to send me merchandise and other fighters merchandise to rep (represent) them, but they don’t want to pay any f*cking money.”

“I think thye offered Oren (Holland’s manager) like $600 for a main page post,” Kevin Holland revealed. “I don’t know if this was the company or not, it’s either they offered $600 or no money at all for a main page post, which is pretty f*cking low. They offered $500 to somebody with 200,000 followers.” (Transcribed by MMA Mania

Dillon Danis

Controversial Bellator fighter Dillon Danis was busted for promoting a fake NFT on social media.

Dillon Danis has been the topic of many conversations in recent months, and not typically for a favorable reason. The jiu-jitsu practitioner once again found himself in a bit of trouble after he was busted promoting a fake NFT by self-proclaimed “internet detective” Coffeezilla on Twitter.

An NFT, or Non-fungible token, is a unique digital identifier that cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided, that is recorded in a blockchain, and that is used to certify authenticity and ownership. The ownership of an NFT is recorded in the blockchain and can be transferred by the owner, allowing NFTs to be sold and traded.

Coffeezilla paid Danis $1,000 in order to promote an NFT to test whether or not the Bellator fighter would check the authenticity of it first. As you probably guessed, Danis did not and proceeded to promote the scam to his 342,000 followers. A video on YouTube detailed Danis’ actions and provided a screenshot where he promoted the inauthentic NFT on social media.

“We just tricked Dillon Danis into promoting a fake NFT project,” Coffeezilla wrote on Twitter. “We paid him $1,000 to post, he didn’t disclose it was an #AD, and posted copy that literally spells out S.C.A.M.”

“The entire project is fake, and if you ‘Mint It,’ it takes you to (a) website devoted to all the scams he’s done in the past.”

Dillon Danis Previously Accused Logan Paul of a Cryptocurrency Scam

Oddly enough, the revelation regarding Dillon Danis’ own internet scams comes not long after he called out YouTuber-turned-pro-boxer and WWE Superstar Logan Paul for scamming people through a cryptocurrency game called CryptoZoo. Paul encouraged people to buy cryptocurrency collectibles, but a year later, Paul left the project after the game failed to materialize. Many people, including Danis, accused Paul of running a scam.

“damn logan paul is a scumbag feel bad for everyone he scammed,” Danis tweeted.

Former UFC and Strikeforce champion, Luke Rockhold, has stated that he would retire from all combat sports if he was unable to knockout Logan Paul in a potential boxing match.

Rockhold recently announced that he would be returning to combat sports after a brief retirement following his loss to Paulo Costa at UFC 278. Now free of his UFC contract, Rockhold is no longer limiting himself to solely focus on MMA, hinting at a potential boxing match with either of the Paul brothers.

In a recent interview with Inside Fighting, the former UFC 185lb champ revealed that he is currently in talks with Steve Espinosa and Nakisa Bidarian in regard to a potential boxing match with Logan Paul. When asked how he believes the fight would play out, should it be booked, Luke Rockhold stated:

“If I don’t knock him out, I’ll retire. I’ll retire for good. I mean, that’s done. But, I’m putting hands together.”

“If I don’t knock Logan Paul out cold, I’d be f****** out,” he continued. “I’m out, I guarantee it. No, not disappointment — I’d be f****** devastated. But, that ain’t gonna happen.” (H/T The Heavy).
