Logan Paul

YouTuber and podcast host, turned professional wrestler and boxer, Logan Paul, has claimed he turned down an offer to face former eight-division world boxing champion, Manny Pacquaio in a return to the squared circle – as he prefers to focus on his professional wrestling career.

Paul, who competed against former world champion and past foe of Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition boxing match last year, has featured just once professionally – suffering a decision loss against recent winner, KSI.

The Ohio native, the elder brother of outspoken professional boxer, Jake Paul, has been linked with numerous fights to return him to active competition, particularly, a 2023 showdown against Bellator MMA welterweight and grappling talent, Dillion Danis.

Logan Paul rejects offer to fight Manny Pacquiao in boxing return

However, Logan Paul, who has also been linked to a fight against controversial former kickboxing champion, Andrew Tate, claimed he had received an offer to box the veteran, Pacquiao – which he ultimately decided to turn down.

“It was on the table,” Logan Paul said of a fight with Manny Pacquiao during an interview with Fight Hub TV. “On the table, like, ‘Do you want this fight (with Manny Pacquiao)?’ I said, ‘No’, because I will not be the guy that just fights retired boxers. I did that once, now I’m going to fight a wrestler in his prime, let’s see what happens.”

Featuring under the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) banner since last year, Paul is expected to face champion, Roman Reigns at a WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on November 5. from the Mrsool Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

As for Pacquaio, the former eight-division world champion last featured atop an August card against Cuban puncher, Yordenis Ugas, suffering a unanimous decision loss in a WBA super welterweight title offing over the course of 12 rounds in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Paul Heyman believes WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns could be UFC heavyweight champion “in a heartbeat.”

Heyman was recently interviewed by The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he hyped up his on-screen WWE client’s athleticism. He doubled down by saying he believes Reigns could become UFC heavyweight champion “in a heartbeat” should he choose to.

“He has the agility and aptitude of a Division I athlete, and don’t ever lose sight that Roman Reigns could be the UFC heavyweight champion in a heartbeat.

“The aura of him being presented as The Tribal Chief at times betrays what an extremely — all pun intended — tough man and athlete who stands before you as your tribal chief.”

Reigns has admitted in the past that he’s a fan of mixed martial arts (MMA) but has never vocalized any desires to actually try his hand inside the cage. Other WWE stars who have competed in MMA in the past include CM Punk and Brock Lesnar, both having very different results inside the Octagon.

Lesnar actually won the UFC heavyweight championship, largely due to the NCAA Division I wrestling pedigree he brought to the table.

As for Punk, he’s 0-1(1) in his MMA career (1 NC) under the UFC banner but seems to be done competing for the time being, resuming wrestling for All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

In regards to Reigns, his athletic background before wrestling includes college football and a brief stint in the NFL. Now, he reigns as the Unified World Champion in WWE, defeating Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas earlier this year.

One match into his new pro wrestling career and Junior dos Santos is already calling out WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Friday, Junior dos Santos made his pro wrestling debut in a six-man-tag match on AEW Rampage. Although “Cigano” was put through a table as part of his initiation process, his team ultimately got the W with the assist from MMA’s own Jorge Masvidal and Paige VanZant. dos Santos is now taking it upon himself to play booker for his next bout, which he hopes to be a cross-promotional showdown with WWE’s Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.

The impetus behind this call-out stems from a recent interview Reigns had with Complex.com, where the WWE star dismissed CM Punk as an exciting in-ring opponent. In the process, he threw the entire AEW roster under the bus.

“That’s not going to elevate me at all,” Reigns said of a match against Punk. “He’s older now. I haven’t really seen a full match. I’ve seen a clip or two. And to me, a step or two has been lost. Then also, he got his whooped in the UFC. I don’t think anybody really believes someone 200 pounds soaking wet with no explosive bone in their body could ever really do anything to me. I’m 6’3”, 265 pounds, a legitimate athlete who can throw some weight around and has been on the gridiron at the highest level. D1. All ACC…

“So, I mean, when it comes down to it, I’ll throw him and pretty much the rest of that roster out the club no problem. They’re just little brothers, you know?”

Junior dos Santos Wants A Piece Of Roman Reigns

Junior dos Santos was among the readers of Reigns’ interview, and he took issue with what the “Head of the Table” had to say. Rather than debating him about his opinion, JDS would much rather see him back up his words.

“Hey @WWERomanReigns I heard your interview. Please send the address of this club you will throw me and my little brothers out of #AEW,” dos Santos’ tweet reads.

In other words, to paraphrase the great Khabib Nurmagomedov, dos Santos wants Reigns to ‘send him location.’ Should Reigns oblige, the Head of the Table will play host to someone who, unlike the 0-2 CM Punk, was able to capture UFC championship gold.

Reigns will be out of the country this week, however, as he will be defending his WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. His opponent? Another former UFC heavyweight champion: Brock Lesnar. When the Head of the Table returns home, it sounds like JDS would love nothing more than to give him a very inhospitable acknowledgment.

Roman Reigns has taken a shot at CM Punk who he claims got “whooped in the UFC”.

The former WWE champion, who currently competes under the AEW banner, stepped into the Octagon on two occasions. Punk was quickly tapped out in his first fight but showed heart in his second bout to survive all three rounds with Mike Jackson. ‘The Truth’ originally picked up a unanimous decision win but it was later overturned to a no-contest due to a positive test for marijuana.

During a recent interview with Complex, Reigns was asked if he would be open to sharing the ring with CM Punk.

“So I answered a question similar to this a while ago, and it falls back to what our audience wants to see,” Reigns replied. “If our audience wanted to see it and they were clamoring for it, couldn’t shut up about it, and all the stars aligned, as a businessman and as a performer who was trying to seek out the very best for the audience and try to captivate, I wouldn’t say no. But I mean, on a personal level, it doesn’t do anything for me. That’s not going to elevate me at all. He’s older now. I haven’t really seen a full match. I’ve seen a clip or two. And to me, a step or two has been lost. Then also he got his whooped in the UFC. I’m 6’3”, 265 pounds, a legitimate athlete who can throw some weight around and has been on the gridiron at the highest level. D1. All ACC. I probably would’ve maintained in the NFL if my health issues didn’t happen when I was 22 years old. So, I mean, when it comes down to it, I’ll throw him and pretty much the rest of that roster out the club no problem. They’re just little brothers, you know?”

Dana White Claps Back At WWE Star’s Brock Lesnar Insult

Dana White had a snappy response for this WWE superstar.

In this day and age, no one should be all that surprised when Dana White claps back at a WWE superstar.

Such was the case this week when WWE Universal Championship title contender Roman Reigns ‘called out’ Brock Lesnar. Lesnar and Reigns will meet for the title at WWE’s upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view this Sunday.

Lesnar is expected to lose the belt in the scripted match and move on to his UFC return. His move is common knowledge, and Reigns played on it on live television this week:

“I’m gonna send Brock so far back into the UFC he’s gonna find his head stuck in Dana White’s ***.”

Lesnar recently returned to the UFC at July 7’s UFC 226, calling out newly-crowned heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.

White may be laughing out loud at Reigns’ callout, but he’ll soon be laughing all the way to the bank due to Lesnar’s immense drawing potential.

Daniel Cormier isn’t the most beloved champion on the UFC’s roster today, and he compares the hate he’s received to that of WWE Superstar Roman Reigns in the world of professional wrestling.

Yesterday (Sat. April 8, 2017) Cormier successfully defended his 205-pound title against knockout artist Anthony Johnson, who subsequently announced his retirement from mixed martial arts (MMA) competition following the contest, for the second time in his championship career. Despite pulling off a great finish in the second round, the crowd was still unable to get on ‘DC’s’ side following the win.

During the post-fight press conference yesterday Cormier addressed his current heat with the MMA fan base, and compared it to the same hate that pro-wrestling champion Roman Reigns, who comes off of a big victory of his own when he retired The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33 last week, suffers in the WWE (quotes via FOX Sports):

“I was watching WWE WrestleMania last weekend and I said wow it would be great if Roman Reigns pins the Undertaker clean. It’s how the old school guys do business. Monday night, Reigns walked out to the ring and they booed him for 10 minutes, would not allow him to talk but it was the most organic crowd that they’ve had in a really long time. He said ‘this is my yard’ and he left. It was perfect because they were playing the game for him. That’s me,” Cormier said.

“If I’m in the Octagon and I’m berating Jimi Manuwa and Jon Jones, it’s my Octagon. I’m the one in there fighting right now with that gold belt. So you’re going to sit there and you’re going to take it. I insisted they didn’t put a microphone by either one of them. Sit there with the camera in your face and just take it. Because I’m the one out there laying it on the line. They don’t like it, it’s fine.”

While Cormier was a little pondered as to why fans booed him at first, he’s grown to remain indifferent on the matter. As long as you’re invested in his fight, Cormier couldn’t care less for your reaction towards him:

“Initially, I was taken back a little bit by people booing me, but then I realized, anyone that knows me and anyone that has spent any time with me, they don’t feel that way. They don’t want to boo me. They don’t feel they want to be away from me. They enjoy the time that we spend together and those are the people that matter. If people want to boo, that’s fine, just don’t not care,” Cormier saod. “That’s all I care about. Just don’t be indifferent. As long as you care, I am fine.

“So when they’re booing in there, it’s fine. It just bounces off me.”
