While they will not be fighting this Saturday at UFC 205 in New York at the world famous Madison Square Garden, former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans and top middleweight fighter Tim Kennedy will indeed get to fight at UFC 206.

The Evans – Kennedy fight was pulled from UFC 205 due to medical issues with Evans. Details were scarce about the specific details of his removal, and remain so when Evans would not disclose the injury. However, Evans did note on social media that he is still more than ready to fight.

Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting is reporting that the UFC is currently working on adding a fight between Evans and Kennedy to the UFC 206 card.

Evans (19-5-1) is currently on a two fight losing streak and is 3-3 in his last six bouts. He is coming off a loss to Glover Teixeira at UFC on FOX 19 by first round KO.

Kennedy (18-5) is 4-1 in his last five bouts and is coming off a loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 178 by third round TKO.

UFC 206 takes place in Toronto, Canada at the Air Canada Centre on Dec. 10th. The main card will air on PPV (pay-per-view) while the prelims will air on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. A light heavyweight title rematch between champion Daniel Cormier and top contender Anthony Johnson is scheduled to main event UFC 206.

As of this writing, the UFC has yet to confirm Evans vs. Kennedy for the event.

The UFC has added a handful of new fights to upcoming events, starting with UFC Fight Night 101.

Former Ultimate Fighter runner-up Khalil Rountree will board a plane and head over to Australia later this month, meeting Tyson Pedro in a meeting of light heavyweights.

The two will collide November 27 from Melbourne and the Rod Laver Arena. The card features a main event between Derek Brunson and Robert Whittaker.

At UFC Fight Night 102, Brian Camozzi will make his Octagon debut vs. Randy Brown in a battle of lightweights. Camozzi is the brother of UFC veteran Chris Camozzi.

That card takes place December 9 and airs entirely on UFC Fight Pass from Albany, New York, with Derrick Lewis vs. Shamil Abdurakhimov in the headline bout.

And at UFC 206, Dustin Ortiz steps in for John Moraga and meets Zach Makovsky. That card goes down the next night after UFC Fight Night 102 from Toronto, as Daniel Cormier defends his light heavyweight title vs. Anthony Johnson.

Anything can happen in a mixed martial arts fight and especially in a title fight, as we’ve seen multiple UFC titles change hands over the last year. With less than two months remaining in the calendar year, the UFC is set to put on a slew of not only exciting, but competitive title fights, as well as some massive events.

Let’s take a look at six UFC titles that could potentially change hands before the year’s end:

Ronda Rouseyn

Women’s Bantamweight

Newly crowned UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes is gearing up to defend her title for the very first time when she takes on former longtime champion Ronda Rousey, a female many consider to be the best 135-pound female fighter of all-time, in the main event of Dec. 30’s UFC 207.

By the time she enters the cage, The “Rowdy” one will have spent 13 months on the sidelines, as she hasn’t competed since being brutally knocked out by Holly Holm last November. Rousey was picked apart by Holm’s superior striking and she didn’t deal with the loss well, ultimately staying out of the limelight for the majority year. With that being said, it’s difficult to tell what form of Rousey will show up and what improvements she may have made.

Nunes is no slouch and she has proven to be a vicious well-rounded fighter, but if Rousey shows up in vintage form, we could see the 135-pound title change hands.

Mark Hunt Turned Down Junior Dos Santos Rematch Due To Contract Issues

Mark Hunt wants to compete again.

He just wants to be compensated if his opponent ever fails another USADA drug test.

Hunt’s attorney, Christina Denning, confirmed on a recent edition of “The Luke Thomas Show,” that the UFC proposed Hunt vs. Junior dos Santos for UFC 206 in December.

“I flew out to Vegas, I believe it was in late September, and met with three attorneys on behalf of the UFC to try to talk about a resolution, because (Hunt) wants to fight,” Denning said. “Mark turned down the upcoming UFC 206 fight against Junior dos Santos because the UFC wouldn’t agree to the terms that we had proposed.”

That proposal states that Hunt would receive the entire fight purse of his opponent if that fighter fails his post-fight or pre-fight drug test.

Hunt’s dealt with that in several of his most recent fights, including a July battle with Brock Lesnar. Denning did add that she has not heard a definite “no” from the UFC about adding the possible provision, which could change the course of the promotion moving forward if allowed.

The 42-year-old Hunt fought dos Santos in 2013, losing via third round knockout. That snapped a four-fight win streak for him at the time.
