Dana White has another appointment to meet with Conor McGregor:

UFC President Dana White says he has a new meeting set up with Conor McGregor, who hasn’t stepped foot in the cage since 2016.

McGregor infamously got himself into hot water (as well as legal trouble) after attacking a bus containing UFC fighters in Brooklyn right before UFC 223. “Notorious” was looking for his nemesis Khabib Nurmagomedov, but ended up injuring several other fighters while Khabib went unharmed.

White told TMZ on Wednesday that he will be meeting with McGregor on June 18th, after an attempted meeting during the weekend of UFC Liverpool didn’t end up happening for whatever reason:

”He and I are meeting on the 18th of this month. I don’t know whats gonna happen. I don’t know what Conor has planned. I don’t know what Conor and his team have worked on.”

McGregor will be in Brooklyn on Thursday for another court appearance regarding his arrest for the bus attack. The Irishman faces charges of assault, which has kept him sidelined until the case is adjudicated.

He and White have another date set to hash things out and hopefully get McGregor back into the cage soon. While he did box Floyd Mayweather last August, McGregor hasn’t defended either of his UFC titles he earned nor has he fought in the octagon almost two years.

Do you expect to see McGregor back in the UFC anytime soon? Or will White’s meeting with McGregor get canceled again?

Conor McGregor Reacts To Bec Rawlings’ Bare Knuckle Debut

Conor McGregor offered his opinion on Bec Rawling’s bare knuckle debut:

Bare Knuckle FC put on an action-packed event with their first-ever show last night (Sat., June 2, 2018) from the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The event featured three UFC veterans scoring wins (watch full highlights here) when Bec Rawlings, Joey Beltran, and Ricco Rodriguez were all victorious on a card that was deemed highly entertaining by the vast majority of onlookers.

For her part, former UFC women’s strawweight competitor Bec Rawlings got back into the win column following four consecutive losses that lead to her UFC release with a much-needed TKO win over Alma Garcia when Garcia could not answer the bell for the second round. Suffice to say, Rawlings’ bare knuckle debut was a success, and it’s drawing rave reviews from even the highest levels of combat sports.

Case in point, former two-division UFC champ Conor McGregor reacted to Rawling’s bare knuckle victory by commenting on a photo of the fight taken and posted on Instagram by MMAFighting.com photographer Esther Lin, praising how she properly punched in a style best suited for that particular form of pugilistic art:

“Some great shots. Photo and fist. Thumb positioned perfectly for a bare fist shot. Zero damage to the paws taken. Great work Bec.”

McGregor has been out of action since losing to Floyd Mayweather via tenth-round TKO in the boxing ring last August. The MMA world is currently awaiting his official return on pins and needles, yet it may be a while off considering he’s set to appear in court on June 14 for assault charges stemming from his April attack at the UFC 223 media day in Brooklyn, New York.

After the show she put on this weekend in Cheyenne, Rawlings’ fighting future seems a lot more certain, however – and McGregor is in full approval.

Team Khabib: Conor McGregor Should Get His A** Back In Line

Khabib’s team claims they aren’t even looking for the Conor McGregor fight:

Khabib Nurmagomedov recently revealed a new timeline for his first defense of the lightweight title, but it may not be against who you thought it was going to be.

The undefeated Dagestani takedown machine won the belt in a five-round domination of replacement Al Iaquinta after a list of other potential challengers fell through at April 7’s UFC 223; the lights were all on Conor McGregor’s chaotic assault directed at ‘The Eagle’ two days before the event.

“The Notorious” was arrested and will appear in court on assault charges on June 14, and the outburst made it seem like Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor was a must, a clear path to very possibly the most lucrative mixed martial arts bout of all-time with a ton of ‘real’ animosity now fueling their rivalry. However, if we’re to believe Khabib’s camp, that’s not the bout he’s actually targeting.

Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz told MMA Fighting that his star client was looking for legendary former middleweight and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. With his absence now reaching nearly two years, they think he should earn the right to fight for the title once again:

“We believe the fight to make is the Georges St-Pierre fight at 155 pounds,” Ali Abdelaziz said. “Khabib wants to fight for legacy and not for a soap opera drama show, and we think Conor doesn’t deserve this opportunity. The guy hasn’t fought in almost two years. Why does he deserve to fight for the title? He should get his ass back in the line and work his way up.”

St-Pierre returned from a nearly four-year absence to submit former middleweight champion in the main event of UFC 217, then promptly vacated the title after dealing with digestive issues due to his increased food intake to fight up a weight class. He’s still planning his return.

The all-time great was linked to a rumored fight with Nate Diaz at August 4’s UFC 227 from Los Angeles, with the winner of that bout presumably fighting the winner of Khabib vs. McGregor in a massive match-up. That fight reportedly won’t happen as he heals, yet Diaz is supposedly targeting a return before the end of the summer.

As for Khabib, well, Abdelaziz said that the newly-crowned lightweight king isn’t necessarily focused on the monster payday a fight with McGregor brings as most prizefighters would be. To him, Abdelaziz claimed, the only reason to fight “The Notorious” would be to get revenge for the Irishman’s Brooklyn outburst:

“There’s only one reason Khabib wants to fight him: to make him pay for what he did [in Brooklyn]. For Khabib, it’s not only about money. It’s about disciplining him.

“That being said, UFC should be talking to Georges, not Conor.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov Issues Stern Callout To Conor McGregor

Khabib Nurmagomedov isn’t playing with Conor McGregor:

Conor McGregor lit the mixed martial arts world ablaze on April 5 when he stormed the Barclays Center and threw a metal handcart through a bus containing top lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Injuring two fighters to the point they could no longer compete at April 7’s UFC 223, ‘The Notorious’ was arrested on assault charges and will next appear before a judge on June 14, and ‘The Eagle’ survived to beat short-notice replacement Al Iaquinta to win the title McGregor was stripped of that night. The scenario made it seem that a highly-anticipated showdown between McGregor and Khabib was inevitable, but that’s far from certain with the Irishman still on the sidelines awaiting court.

It’s the biggest bout the UFC can book right now, and could arguably be the biggest of all-time. After observing the holy month of Ramadan, ‘The Eagle’ wants to return for his first title defense around November or December. If it’s against McGregor is anyone’s guess, yet it won’t be due to a lack of trying to get the fight signed from Nurmagomedov. The undefeated wrestling machine issued a stern warning to McGregor on his official Instagram account earlier today, claiming that the game has changed since the once-active former champ left:

“When you see him, tell him: Conor the game has changed, now you have to play like a grown up man, there will no longer be locked buses with security inside and outside, now you have to solve these problems alone, and if you do not want it, just say so, everybody will understand.”

A fair warning from ‘The Eagle,’ who has always insisted that if the outspoken trash talker actually wanted to fight him in New York, he would have just gave him a time and a place to meet him rather than attacking a bus he was in that also contained other fighters and security guards.

The bad blood originated when Khabib put his hands on McGregor’s longtime teammate Artem Lobov when he was alone in a hotel that week, supposedly prompting McGregor and his gang of goons to hop on a plane to Brooklyn to start the now-historic attack that he will soon face his punishment for.

All of the chaos could lead to the biggest spectacle we’ve ever seen in the octagon, something that may not be as obvious as it would seem after McGregor’s monstrous payday to box Floyd Mayweather last summer.

If he does finally decide to return, Nurmagomedov will apparently be ready to meet him man to man in the cage.

Conor McGregor’s Teammate Has Fight Booked Following UFC 223 Melee

It appears as if Conor McGregor’s teammate is moving on from the UFC 223 melee…

Last month, former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor made headlines for all of the wrong reasons, as he essentially flew to New York prior to UFC 223, which took place on April 7 from the Barclays Center, and attacked a van filled with fighters.

McGregor, who ultimately ended up turning himself into police and spending a night in a Brooklyn jail, wasn’t alone, as he was accompanied by an entourage of teammates and friends. One who stood out, however, was welterweight Cian Cowley, who was charged with one count of criminal mischief.

Cowley, along with McGregor, is set to return to a New York courtroom on June 14.

But while McGregor’s fighting future is highly unclear, Cowley recently had his next fight booked. According to a report from MMAUK.net, which was later confirmed by MMAFighting.com, Cowley will take on Daniel Olejniczak at Brave 13 on June 9 in Belfast.

Cowley is currently 0-1 as a professional and held a 3-1 record as an amateur.

Conor McGregor Apologizes To Karolina Kowalkiewicz For UFC 223 Incident

Conor McGregor appears to be full of remorse for his UFC 223 attack…

The post Conor McGregor Apologizes To Karolina Kowalkiewicz For UFC 223 Incident appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

In the weeks since Conor McGregor’s UFC 223 outburst that left him incarcerated in Brooklyn, New York, “The Notorious” has apparently attempted to mend the fences with some of the people affected by his heinous, unnecessary actions.

His online apology to UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas was rebuked, yet another prominent 115-pound contender responded differently.

Former strawweight title contender Karolina Kowalkiewicz, who owns a 2016 win over “Thug” Rose and was present during McGregor’s attack prior to her UFC 223 win over Felice Herrig, recently detailed her view of the chaotic scene to MMA Flashback (via MMA Mania) before revealing McGregor wrote her an apology she had accepted.

In her opinion, she’s seen worse in her native Poland:

“I saw Conor McGregor hitting the windows, then saw Rose Namajuans crying while Pat was protecting her face. Chiesa’s face was blood stained. My coaches told me to hide, but I wanted to see what was going on, but they kept me under the seats. And that’s all, in my opinion Conor bent a little, he probably realized what happened afterward and he wrote an apology letter to me. I have no intention of suing anyone. Growing up in LODZ I saw worse things.”

Kowalkiewicz clearly has no plans to sue McGregor, although two fighters who were injured by McGregor’s outrageous outburst and forced off out of their fights – lightweight Michael Chiesa and flyweight Ray Borg – will be suing “The Notorious” for injuries suffered, and no one can really blame them.

That will most likely be the avenue in which McGregor is harmed most for his decision to throw a metal dolly through a bus containing his rival Khabib Nurmagomedov; he’s unlikely to serve any jail time even though he was booked on a felony charge due to the attack being his first offense on U.S. soil and his wealth enabling him to hire a high-priced legal counsel to plead his charges down.

Just don’t count Kowalkiewicz among those looking for compensation from the superstar, because she’s already accepted his apology.
