Tomorrow (Sat. December 21, 2019) UFC Busan will go down from the Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea.

In the main event of the night, featherweights Frankie Edgar and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung will go head-to-head. Ahead of the event, we here at LowKickMMA have compiled our UFC Busan staff predictions for Edgar vs. Korean Zombie. Check out our official UFC Busan staff predictions below.

UFC Busan Staff Predictions

Jon Fuentes:

This is such an interesting matchup, but everything really points to Jung’s favor here. It’s in his own backyard, and he’s taking on an Edgar who is jumping into the fight on short notice. I think this one goes all five rounds, but Jung gets the decision win when it’s all said and done. (Prediction: Korean Zombie)

Abhinav Kini:

Unfortunately, we’re not getting a Korean Zombie vs. Brian Ortega fight. But a Frankie Edgar fight will do, especially on short notice. These two were supposed to fight at UFC Denver last year and I believe I was picking Edgar back then. However, after seeing their recent performances, I feel this will only go Zombie’s way and it could even be with a finish given how good he’s looked in recent fights. (Prediction: Korean Zombie)

Jordan Ellis:

Korean Zombie has everything in his favor heading into this fight against Frankie Edgar. The South Korean will fight in front of his home crowd, on the back of a full camp and a big win last time out. The former lightweight champion Edgar will travel the globe on short notice to take a fight 10lbs above the weight he was scheduled to fight at next month. All of this points towards a Chan Sung Jung victory. For me it’s just a matter of how he’ll get it done. And in my opinion he’ll get the finish in quick and empathic fashion. Maybe even as early as the first round. (Prediction: Korean Zombie)

Timmy Moran:

A close matchup headlines the UFC Fight Night 165 where Frankie Edgar looks to spoil the homecoming of Chan Sun Jung. Although credit is due to Edgar for stepping in on such short notice, it won’t be enough as the Korean Zombie will have the Korean faithful cheering him on the night of the fight. Expect a five-round war between the two with the Korean Zombie getting the nod via decision. (Prediction: Korean Zombie)

UFC on ESPN+ 22 will go down tomorrow afternoon (Sat. November 16, 2019) from the Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In the main event of the night, Jan Blachowicz welcomes Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza to the light heavyweight division.

The winner could very well be on their way to receiving a highly-ranked opponent next. We here at LowKickMMA have compiled our UFC Sao Paulo staff predictions for the Blachowicz vs. Souza main event. Check them out below.

UFC Sao Paulo Staff Predictions

Jon Fuentes:

It hasn’t worked well for middleweights jumping up to light heavyweight as of late. Souza, of course, brings a very different dynamic to the division with his ground game.

But he has to get the fight there first. Blachowicz has looked phenomenal as of late and comes off a knockout win over Luke Rockhold. I think Blachowicz might be just strong enough to prevent the fight from going to the ground, and will outclass Souza on the feet. (Prediction: Jan Blachowicz)

Abhinav Kini:

This is a tough one to call. Given the performances of Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman at light heavyweight, I’m a bit wary about picking a middleweight making the move up. Jan Blachowicz has improved tremendously in recent years as well. But I still have Jacare Souza edging this, particularly if he can get the bigger Blachowicz on the ground. (Prediction: Jacare Souza)

The winner could very well be on their way to receiving a highly-ranked opponent next. We here at LowKickMMA have compiled our UFC Moscow staff predictions for the Magomedsharipov vs. Kattar main event. Check them out below.

UFC Moscow Staff Predictions

Jon Fuentes:

This is a very interesting matchup. Kattar should have a big edge in the standup department, but Magomedsharipov will have a big advantage himself, in the grappling. However, Kattar has proven to have sick knockout power, and I have a funny feeling he’s going to be able to connect on Magomedsharipov and hand him his first loss under the UFC banner. (Prediction: Calvin Kattar)

Abhinav Kini:

Calvin Kattar should not be slept on. He’s an excellent striker with knockout power. However, I feel he would have benefited more if this was a five-rounder. I see Zabit Magomedsharipov just about edging him on his way to a decision victory, especially in front of a Russian crowd. (Prediction: Zabit Magomedsharipov)

UFC 244 will go down tomorrow (Sat. November 2, 2019) from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Mixed martial arts (MMA) fans will witness a Baddest Mother F*cker Championship bout between welterweights Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz.

The winner will likely be next in line for the 170-pound title. We here at LowKickMMA have compiled our UFC 244 staff predictions for the Masvidal vs. Diaz BMF main event. Check them out below.

UFC 244 Staff Predictions

Jon Fuentes:

This is about as close of a matchup as you can get. Two guys who aren’t going to take a back step, likely won’t shoot in for a takedown, and are willing to leave it all inside the Octagon for the win. This has Fight Of The Year written all over it. Diaz has the advantage in this being a five-round fight with his gas tank, but Masvidal’s cardio will be just fine in a main event contest as well.

Diaz is the superior boxer and jiu-jitsu practitioner, but given Demian Maia couldn’t submit Masvidal on the mat, Diaz will likely struggle to do the same. With this one more than likely staying on the feet, and neither man looking to outpoint the other, I have to give the edge to Diaz, who I think takes a decision victory in a dog fight. (Prediction: Nate Diaz)

Abhinav Kini:

Both these guys are very similar in the way that they fight, so we should be in for a barnburner. Diaz is the bigger fighter, but I believe Masvidal is a better boxer, and given the momentum he’s on, I expect him to get the win. (Prediction: Jorge Masvidal)

Cole Shelton:

Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal is easily the hardest fight to pick this year. It is a super close bout and they both have similar skill sets, and both are tough to finish. I think Jorge will win the early rounds with Nate coming on strong in the later rounds, but in the end, it is Masvidal who wins by decision. (Prediction: Jorge Masvidal)

Tony B. King (aka MC Hydro Phonics):

Tough call here. On one hand, I can see Jorge using leg kicks to break down Diaz’s movement and possibly catch him with a big shot. On the other hand, I can see Diaz marching forward like a soldier and wearing Jorge down and outpointing him for a decision win.

There are lots of variables here to consider. I’ve ran over them all in my head a million times. I have the utmost respect for both of these fighters and hate to see either lose but if I’m forced to pick a winner… I’m going with Nate Diaz Stockton slapping his way to a 5 round decision. (Prediction: Nate Diaz)

Timmy Moran:

Diaz, the self-proclaimed west coast gangster, matches up with Jorge Masvidal, the self-proclaimed dirty south goon, to headline the most exciting welterweight bout this year. Expect fireworks and a predominantly stand up fight where each fighter will exchange strikes until they can’t any longer.

Despite the majority of the contest remaining on the feet, look for Diaz to take Masvidal in deep waters, and look for a potential submission in the championship rounds. Masvidal may start off faster and more aggressive, but I expect Diaz to grow stronger as the fight progresses. (Prediction: Nate Diaz)

What do you think about our UFC 244 Staff Predictions? Who are you picking in Masvidal vs. Diaz?
