Francis Ngannou set to make PFL debut against Ryan Bader - Renan Ferreira winner later this year

Former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou is slated to make his first walk in mixed martial arts later this year, as well as his first outing under the banner of the PFL (Professional Fighters League) since last year’s signing, with a bout against the victor of this weekend’s superfight between Ryan Bader and Renan Ferreira set to meet the Cameroonian.

Ngannou, a former undisputed heavyweight champion under the Dana White-led UFC banner, is also set to make his sophomore outing in the boxing ring next month in a return to the Middle East, taking on former two-time heavyweight titleholder, Anthony Joshua in the pair’s Saudi Arabia showdown.

The outing will mark Francis Ngannou’s return to competition, following a decision loss to unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury back in August of last year – with the former managing to even score devastating knockdown on the Morecambe native early into the 12 round back-and-forth.

Francis Ngannou is in line for his PFL bow

And with speculation continually mounting regarding Ngannou’s first outing under the Peter Murray-led PFL banner, confirmation from the organization tonight has revealed the Batié knockout artist will take on either Bader or the aforenoted, Ferreira – with the duo squaring off in a monstrous heavyweight title fight at a Bellator MMA vs. PFL event.

“BREAKING NEWS: HEAVY STAKES for Saturday Night,” PFL posted on their official X account. “@Francis_Ngannou will face the winner of the Renan Ferreira vs. Ryan Bader bout. #PFLvsBellator”

Yet to feature in mixed martial arts since UFC 270 back in January 2022, Ngannou most recently successfully unified the promotion’s titles with a heavyweight win over the then-unbeaten, Ciryl Gane in a decision victory over the former interim champion.

Ngannou would depart the promotion in January of last year, before inking a multi-year deal with the PFL.

Do you expect Francis Ngannou to land similar successes in the PFL?

Jorge Masvidal backed to succeed in Boxing move he's gonna surprise people UFC

Bellator Middleweight champion, Johnny Eblen discusses teammate Jorge Masvidal’s return to fighting.

Masivdal officially retired in April of 2023 after dropping a decision against Gilbert Burns, marking his fourth loss in a row. It was clear that the original BMF champion had lost a step, even admitting so himself and seemed an appropriate time to retire in front of a roaring support in his hometown of Miami.

However, like many fighters, it seems that Jorge Masvidal is not done with combat just yet and is set to test the waters in boxing. ‘Gamebred’ is set to take on Nate Diaz next month in Las Vegas and will be promoted by Happy Punch after the UFC had given the green light.

Jorge Masvidal backed to make successful boxing move

Talking with The AllStar, fellow American Top Team fighter, Eblen, discussed Masvidal unretiring and believed it was a good step and could add to his already lengthy resume.

“I think he misses it, and I’m glad he’s getting his feet wet again,” Eblen began. “Especially in boxing, I think it’s gonna be a great avenue for him to continuing his legacy and his journey in martial arts, and also just stay relevant, you know? When you build such a big name and fall off the face of the earth — I mean, not that he did, but like, not being as active fight-wise, it’s not as exciting.” (H/T MMA Mania)

Eblen claims that despite being 39-years-old and Masvidal having an extended time off, the former title challenger will make a smooth transition to boxing.

“He has his fight promotion, which is doing really well,” Eblen added. “He has a lot of things going on. I think him jumping back into fighting, especially in boxing, is gonna be huge because of his name and he’s gonna stay relevant.”

“And also, he’s gonna surprise a lot of people. That dude has hands, and he’s f—ing good, man. A lot of the problems he had in MMA was people wanted to take him down. Now we’re boxing, you can’t take anybody down. You gotta strike with the guy.”

How do you think Jorge Masvidal will do in boxing?

Floyd Mayweather reveals $18 million IRS tax bill and Super Bowl suite ticket cost boxing star

Former boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather brags about his Super Bowl suite and enormous tax bill.

Despite being retired, Mayweather’s spending habits have not appeared to slow down, as the five-weight boxing champion continues to live lavishly. The 46-year-old was always brash, flaunting his money, cars and watches at every possible opportunity throughout his career.

Even now, 46-year-old Mayweather regularly posts to social media to show off his wealth. Whether it be a new supercar, briefcase of money or a new piece of designer clothing, best believe you won’t have to look hard to find it on Mayweather’s social media.

Floyd Mayweather reveals massive IRS tax bill

This time Floyd Mayweather would share a picture of a cheque he had written to the tune of $18 million, which would be paid to the tax man. Of course, this would not come before bragging about spending $1 million on a Superbowl box

“Just before I paid that light million and change for that little Super Bowl stuff, I had to pay the IRS aka Uncle Sam $18,047,181. This is what I owed in taxes while I’m retired so just imagine what I was paying when I was activated.”

There have been rumours circulating for years that Mayweather had money problems, but the spending never seems to stop. Mayweather has competed in multiple boxing exhibition bouts since his official retirement from professional boxing. The American would have received a sizeable payment for his fight against Logan Paul which drew great interest at the time but has also gone on to fight on to fight on shows with barely any in attendance against John Gotti III.

It’s unclear if Mayweather will continue to take on these exhibition bouts, let’s just hope he has solid investments if he continues to spend money the way he does.

Devin Haney set to defend WBC title in championship fight with Ryan Garcia in April

An undisputed WBC super lightweight title fight between division gold holder, Devin Haney, and former interim WBC lightweight gold holder, Ryan Garcia is slated for April 20. from Las Vegas, Nevada in a championship showdown.

Haney, who currently boasts an unbeaten 31-0 professional record, landed the WBC super lightweight championship back in December in San Francisco, landing a unanimous decision win over Regis Prograis.

Devin Haney set to fight Ryan Garcia on April 20.

As for Garcia, the 25-year-old Californian is currently boasting a 24-1 professional record, returning from his first-ever career loss in a knockout defeat to Gervonta Davis, with an eighth round knockout win over Oscar Duarte last December. News of Devin Haney’s super lightweight title defense against Ryan Garcia was first reported by ESPN.

“Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia have struck a deal to fight April 20 in Las Vegas for Haney’s junior welterweight championship, sources tell ESPN,” Mike Coppinger posted on X. “Haney lands another marquee fight – his biggest yet – as he continues his star climb while Garcia lands his first title shot.”

Haney, 25, previously held WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF gold at the lightweight limit, retaining said titles in a decision win over Ukrainian favorite, Vasily Lomachenko, which followed a pair of successful title fight defenses in consecutive victories over George Kambosos Jr.

A heavy striker and revered knockout artist, from 24 professional victories, Garcia has turned in 20 professional knockout stoppages – including notable wins over the likes of Francisco Fonseca, Luke Campbell, and Javier Fortuna. Garcia’s 2021 knockout win over British striker, Campbell saw him minted as the interim WBC lightweight champion to boot.

Taking on WBA lightweight champion, Davis back in a blockbuster April fight, Garcia suffered his first professional defeat in the form of a seventh round KO loss in ‘Sin City’

Tyson Fury eyes rematch with Francis Ngannou in the future I ain't retiring UFC

Unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has confirmed he will rematch former UFC heavyweight titleholder, Francis Ngannou in the future – ahead of his May championship unification fight against fellow world gold holder, Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury, the current undisputed WBC heavyweight champion, has been sidelined since he featured against the Batié knockout artist back in August of last year in the Middle East, narrowly retaining his unbeaten record in a close, controversial split decision win over ex-UFC star, Ngannou.

And forced from a championship fight against Ukraine favorite, Usyk later this month, Fury suffered a nasty laceration after catching a stray elbow during a sparring session, requiring stitches to close the cut, and forcing the cancellation of the clash.

Now slated for May 18. in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Fury will draw Usyk in a title unification fight at the heavyweight limit – and insists he will rematch Usyk, and then fight former champion, Anthony Joshua at least once – before fighting Ngannou in the future again.

Tyson Fury eyes rematch with Francis Ngannou

“I keep hearing talk of people saying that I should retire or I’m going to retire soon or whatever,” Tyson Fury said on his official social media. “I ain’t retiring anywhere.”

“I’ve got tow fights with [Oleksandr] Usyk, for the undisputed [titles] twice,” Tyson Fury explained. “Then I’m going to fight AJ (Anthony Joshua) at least once. Maybe twice if there’s a rematch, if he wants one after the first battering I give him, and then I’m going to fight (Francis) Ngannou again. And that’s just to start. So, there’s five little fights for you to whet your appetite with. I ain’t going nowhere. Nowhere. I’m 35 years old, in the prime of my life.”

Himself returning to the ring in March for his sophomore outing, former UFC heavyweight champion, Ngannou takes on the above-mentioned British heavyweight, Joshua in a pivotal clash in the Middle East.

Francis Ngannou sends chilling message to Anthony Joshua ahead of fight I'm going to take his soul

Former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou has vowed to take Anthony Joshua’s “soul” in their March boxing match in the MIddle East – as he prepares for his sophomore outing in the squared circle.

Ngannou, a former undisputed heavyweight titleholder under the UFC banner, makes his second outing in the boxing ring next month – returning in another high-profile fight as he takes on former two-time world championship holder, Joshua in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Returning to competition for the first time since last August, Batié knockout artist, Ngannou most recently turned in a controversial decision loss to unbeaten WBC heavyweight kingpin, Tyson Fury in the pair’s long-anticipated clash in the Middle East.

Scoring a massive knockdown early in the bout, Ngannou went on to drop a split decision loss to the Morecambe native in Saudi Arabia – postponing his planned December return against Oleksandr Usyk.

And since seeing his title unification bout with the Ukrainian moved, Fury suffered a nasty laceration after catching a stray elbow during sparring ahead of this month’s bout, which required switches – forcing the bout to be rescheduled for May.

Francis Ngannou vows to take the soul of Anthony Joshua

Figuring to find himself involved in a rematch against British star, Fury with a victory over the former’s compatriot, Joshua next month, PFL signing, Ngannou vowed to take the “soul” of the Watford native in the Middle East.

“Nothing is impossible, right?” Francis Ngannou told the High-Performance Podcast during a recent interview. “We don’t know the strength of Anthony Joshua but even though, I don’t believe he has that strength, but we’re going to find out in two months, we’re going to find out and I think the reverse is going to happen. I’m going to be taking his soul.”
