Conor McGregor claims it’s actually Khabib Nurmagomedov who is responsible for his infamous New York bus attack in April.

McGregor sounded off on the frightening scene that ultimately forced three fights off of April’s UFC 223. While the Irish megastar was jailed on assault charges, he says it was Nurmagomedov’s fault.

Sounding off at today’s UFC 229 Press Conference from New York City, McGregor said he spoke the truth when all he did was present himself for a fair fight at the Barclays Center last April.

When Khabib didn’t come out of the bus before UFC 223, he caused McGregor’s assault where he threw a metal dolly through a bus to happen:

“The truth. Because that’s all I talk. That all I talk, truth. Smash me, mate. Smash me! You say, “send location,” here he is right in front of ya. I’m right in front of ya! Did you not see me outside the bus, no? Did you not see outside in front of the f*****’ bus? I showed you may hands, no weapons. The first thing I showed up at this bus, I showed him my hands to let him know I come here unarmed, no weapons. No weapons, step off the bus. You talked a big game, now I’m here.

He done f*****’ nuthin. He sat and took a s*** on the bus. Hid and cowered behind f*****’ women and caused what happened to happen. So, that’s f*****’ that.”

Nurmagomedov often wondered why McGregor would not have simply gave him his location to fight him fair and square. To that, McGregor said he knew his location now and still did nothing:

“Here’s my location you little fool. Right in front of you. Do somethin’ about it! Yeah, you’ll do nothin’!

Saddle up, fight fans. It’s about to be a wild ride.

Now former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor is far and away the biggest star in the history of mixed martial arts (MMA), and because of that, every move he makes lights up the MMA community.

However, some of those actions – especially recently – have been a bit more outlandish than others.

Just last week, McGregor made headlines when he essentially invaded the Barclays Center following a media day for UFC 223 last Saturday (April 7, 2018) in Brooklyn, New York. The situation could potentially impact McGregor’s fighting future moving forward.

Regardless, it was this action that led us to consider the craziest incidents McGregor has taken part in outside of the Octagon.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the top five:

The Sun UK

1) Barclays Center Bus Tirade:

Early on during the UFC 223 fight week, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who now holds the UFC lightweight title, and a group of teammates essentially got into an altercation with Artem Lobov, a UFC featherweight and close friend and teammate of McGregor’s who was by himself in a hotel in New York.

Following the incident, McGregor and an entourage hopped on a plane in Ireland and flew to New York for what many believe was to confront “The Eagle”.

Upon his arrival, footage surfaced of McGregor and company running around a lower deck of the Barclays Center where a bus transporting fighters was located. McGregor can be seen banging on the bus before throwing a dolly through one of the windows, which caused Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg to suffer injuries that forced them off of the card.

Ultimately, the situation ended up with McGregor turning himself into New York police and being arraigned on assault charges in a Brooklyn court Friday morning.

He will next appear in court in June.

Conor McGregor caused quite a stir on Thursday after attacking a bus containing fighters preparing for UFC 223, and actually turned himself into police after several fighters sustained injuries.

McGregor’s manager Audie Attar finally released a statement over the matter, and naturally came to his client’s defense:

McGregor himself has yet to comment on the matter and was bailed out Friday by his friend Dillon Danis following his arraignment in Brooklyn. McGregor will return to court on June 14th as his case is adjudicated.

Meanwhile, Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg filed orders of protection against McGregor after injuries sustained during Thursday’s melee forced them out of their respective bouts at UFC 223.

Do you agree with McGregor’s manager in that rumor and misinformation have obscured what really happened? Or is this just damage control from McGregor’s team?
