Jake Paul Points Out “Loophole” In Woodley’s “I Love Jake Paul” Tattoo

The “I Love Jake Paul” tattoo that Tyron Woodley got branded on him was not the rematch-sealing gesture Woodley had hoped it would be.

Prior to the Jake Paul versus Tyron Woodley boxing match on August 29, the tattoo stipulation was clear: the loser gets tattooed with “I Love <Insert Winner’s Name>.” Immediately after the fight ended, the stipulation was amended: Should Woodley get this tattoo, it would secure him the rematch that he demanded in the ring when Paul was announced the winner.

After Paul stated that the tattoo window had elapsed, Woodley got and displayed his brand-new tattoo anyway.

Before Woodley got the tattoo and one day after their fight, Paul took to Twitter to lay out the following guidelines to ensure all the expectations for the tattoo were aboveboard:

1. 3×2 inches at least

2. Can’t get it covered

3. Permanent

4. Must post on social media

5. Has to be visible with shorts and shirt on

In a recent interview with TalkSport.com, Paul pointed out a loophole that he believes Woodley is trying to create, and it’s one that isn’t associated with the above guidelines.

“Let’s see what happens,” Paul said of a rematch against Woodley. “He was like three or four weeks late on the tattoo, he let the hype die down,” the 24-year-old explained. “I think he had a call with his accountants and he saw how much taxes he had to pay and he was like ‘oh, man, I need to get this tattoo right now.’

“The weird thing about it, and I’m saying this on record right now, is the tattoo is on his middle finger and it’s done in a way where he can change it to say ‘f*** Jake Paul’. He did it so the I looks like an F or could be changed to that, so I think personally he’s going to change it to say f*** Jake Paul on his middle finger.

“It goes perfectly with that, so I’m calling it out right now. He’s trying to find loopholes and be slick but he’s not as smart as he thinks he is,” Paul said.

This response to Woodley’s tattoo goes into much more depth than Paul’s previous, trollish one from last week. Nevertheless, it still falls shy of confirming that a rematch between the two will take place. You can therefore chalk this up to being the second consecutive response from Paul that Woodley won’t want to hear and one that may make “The Chosen One” choose to modify his “I Love Jake Paul” tattoo to the explicit remix that Paul suspects is already coming.

Do you agree with Jake Paul? Is Tyron Woodley trying to be slick with his interpretation of the “I Love Jake Paul” tattoo?

Claressa Shields fights in the Professional Fighting League (PFL) on Oct. 27, even though she is busy preparing, the ex-boxer is still confident she can put a beating on Jake Paul.

Making the move from boxing to MMA, Claressa Shields has made the most of her short transition into her new sport. After signing with the PFL, the former WBF and WBC champion represented her craft in MMA when she took on Brittney Elkin in June.

The fight was frantic, and the wrestling of Shields was put to the test. While the former boxing champ found herself in trouble, she gathered her composure and earned the victory by TKO. As her first MMA fight, the round-three victory was especially impressive because the former boxer finished the fight with ground and pound on the canvas.

After the smoke cleared from the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley Showtime boxing match, Shields found the contest disrespectful. At the PFL’s Official Press Conference on Wednesday, (Sept. 29, 2021), Shields elaborated on why she won’t fight Paul and also added that she would never fight on his undercard, either.

“Don’t disrespect me. I would never fight on an undercard of Jake Paul. I’m a three-time division world champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist in boxing. I would never fight on an undercard of Jake Paul. And I don’t know what Amanda Serrano’s purse was, I think it was like $75,000, $100,000, I would never fight another boxing match for that much money because I’m worth so much more. I’m a $1 million fighter. And before I get on the undercard of a guy that’s having a circus show—no disrespect to Tyron Woodley; no disrespect to Jake Paul, but I’m a real boxer. Shields said.

“Like, I can beat up Jake Paul at the weight class I’m at right now. So no, I would never fight on an undercard of somebody that does not possess the skills or the accomplishments that I have.”

With the accolades of Shields, the former boxing champ is adamant that she will never fight on the undercard of Jake Paul. The 26-year-old emphasized her status as an Olympian and her disinterest in the ‘circus show.’ Recently, former UFC champion Tyron Woodley has been attempting to entice Paul into another mega boxing match. Over the weekend, the former 170-pound champ finally got the ‘I Love Jake Paul’ tattoo, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you can find that right here.

Jake Paul Has ‘So Many Advantages’ Over Conor McGregor – Javier Mendez

Jake Paul

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s long-time coach, Javier Mendez appears to be backing Jake Paul to beat Conor McGregor if they ever face-off inside the squared circle.

The YouTuber has been carving out a lucrative boxing career for himself as of late. Paul is currently 4-0 as a professional and holds two big wins over former MMA champions Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.

Paul has been relentlessly calling out McGregor for more than a year now who has distanced himself from the trash talk without totally ruling out the possibility of fighting the internet celebrity down the line.

Some believe a fight with McGregor would be a step too far for the combat sports newcomer. Mendez disagrees with those people and says Paul would enter a ‘Notorious’ fight with several big advantages.

“Jake has got so many advantages on Conor,” Mendez told Betway. “Size being one of the big major ones, and the fact that he’s been boxing for three plus years with really good boxing professionals that know what they’re doing. So no, he shouldn’t have to fear Conor whatsoever.

“Instead, he has to fear people like Canelo,” Mendez added. “He would just smash him in one round, it would be embarrassing. He hasn’t got a chance against those kinds of guys, he really should stay away from him – but against Conor, absolutely he has a chance. Looking at the two, Jake’s got big advantages in size and power. Yes, he doesn’t have fight experience, but he’s been strictly just boxing for a long time now. Conor’s not been strictly boxing.”

The American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) Head Coach was full of praise for the divisive Paul Brothers who are currently taking the boxing world by storm.

“The Paul brothers are extremely likeable entertainers or extremely hateable entertainers, depending on your viewpoint,” Mendez said. They cross both fields. People love them, people hate them but people want to watch them, so I applaud them for what they’re doing. I respect their abilities but they’re not true boxers. They’re legit boxers but they’re not high level. They’re not high level at all, they’re beginners. For beginners to do what they do, that’s amazing and I applaud them for that because it takes special people to get that kind of attention.

“Whether it’s great for the sport, I‘d have to say majority yes because look at Jake Paul’s PPV numbers,” Mendez concluded. “How can a guy box another guy that’s never boxed and get that kind of attention? I’d be fooling myself to say nobody’s interested because of the really good numbers. One of the highest numbers of all time on PPV so, you know when you get over a million, that’s pretty high so I say kudos to them. They’re doing a great job.”

Do you agree with Javier Mendez? Does Jake Paul have a genuine shot at beating Conor McGregor in a boxing match?

Michael Venom Page may not be a fan of Jake Paul boxing, but he respects the YouTuber for advocating for fighter pay.

MVP has been one of the home grown products of Bellator, regularly going viral for his exciting fight style and over the top celebrations, as well as his brutal knockouts. Before he switched to MMA though, he dabbled in the world of kickboxing for a single bout, and had two pro boxing bouts.

That being said, as someone with respect for boxing, Page is not particularly thrilled with the antics of YouTuber-turned boxer Jake Paul. However, when speaking to Sky News, the Bellator fighter says that he appreciates the fact that Jake speaks out for fighter pay, regularly calling out Dana White for underpaying UFC fighters.

“Yeah, I’m a massive supporter of what he’s doing there, and I completely agree with him on that side. Why is it that fighters are so eager to then jump ship? It’s because we’re not being paid what we should be paid in our thing,” MVP said.

“This is why he’s completely right. Nobody would entertain these kind of fights, if we were being treated the way we should be treated.”

MVP Would Fight Jake Paul

While Michael Venom Page appreciates what Jake Paul is doing for fighter pay, he still thinks that the YouTuber is not very good at boxing. In fact, he was convinced that former UFC champion Tyron Woodley would get the job done when he faced Jake last month.

With that in mind though, Page says that he would definitely be down to take on Paul in the ring. Not only does he find the payday lucrative, but he thinks that his skills will be enough to finish Jake and end this celebrity fighting phenomenon.

“These kind of stuff is it’s annoying, I get why it’s happening. Obviously, business-wise, a lot of money that’s drawn in, but, I thought Tyron Woodley was going to correct this whole crazy world that we’re living in right now,” MVP explained.

“Just to correct the world, I would definitely jump in and just knock him out, shake his hand afterwards and say ‘continue doing what you’re doing.’ Yeah, I just need to prove to everyone that this is nonsense.”

In the meantime, Michael Venom Page will be taking on Douglas Lima at Bellator 267, on October 1st. Jake Paul does not seem to be interested in fighting him at the moment, but perhaps that can change in the future.

World-famous trainer Javier Mendez knows that Jake Paul could beat Conor McGregor in a boxing match.

Javier Mendez has been through a lot in combat sports. He is a world-renowned trainer who has worked with the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Daniel Cormier, and Cain Velasquez. He is a man who knows when a fighter has what it takes to win and he is taking his pick in the potential boxing match between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor.

“Jake has got so many advantages on Conor. Size being one of the big major ones, and the fact that he’s been boxing for three-plus years with really good boxing professionals that know what they’re doing,” Mendez explained to Betway Insider. “So no, he shouldn’t have to fear Conor whatsoever.”

Being the coach of Nurmagomedov, Mendez would be the man to have some insight on McGregor. The rivalry between Nurmagomedov and McGregor was a fierce one, and it has continued long after the two fought each other. Having seen McGregor fight in person and most likely watching tape in preparation gives Mendez a unique perspective into his style.

Mendez has been privy to training footage of Paul, complements of his boxing trainers. Mendez is high on Paul and impressed with his skills so far. He does, however, see a spot that Paul should focus on.

“Instead, he has to fear people like Canelo. He would just smash him in one round, it would be embarrassing,” Mendez said. “He hasn’t got a chance against those kinds of guys, he really should stay away from him – but against Conor, absolutely he has a chance. Looking at the two, Jake’s got big advantages in size and power. Yes, he doesn’t have fight experience but he’s been strictly just boxing for a long time now. Conor’s not been strictly boxing.”

There is no official bout or even a hint of a bout between Paul and McGregor at this point but both sides have shown interest. McGregor is out for the foreseeable future dealing with his leg injury, while Paul is still in search of his next fight. Paul continues to try and entice McGregor back into the squared circle, and if money really talks, it could be a possibility in the future.
