Iron’ Mike Tyson is ready to make his return to the squared circle, but it may not be the one you’re thinking of.

Known the world over as one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport, Mike Tyson also holds the distinction of being a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. Tyson was inducted in 2012, 14 years removed from his iconic first appearance with the promotion to help market the Wrestlemania XIV main event between surging superstar ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and cocky veteran Shawn Michaels.

Fans old enough to have witnessed the January 19, 1998 episode of Monday Night Raw likely remember the chaotic scene as Mike Tyson and Steve Austin got into an all-out brawl inside the WWE ring. The moment propelled ‘Stone Cold’ to unparalleled popularity in sports entertainment which in turn allowed the promotion to win the ‘Monday Night Wars’ against longtime rival WCW.

In a recent interview with Forbes, Mike Tyson reflected on his time with WWE and revealed that as a lifelong professional wrestling fan, he took inspiration from some of the biggest heels in the industry, using those characteristics to establish himself as boxing’s bad guy.

“I’m in the wrestling Hall of Fame,” Tyson said proudly. “I loved wrestling all my life. The Valiant Brothers, Bruno Sammartino, that’s just who I was: the arrogant talker and the bad guy who people booed. That’s when I realized you can’t remember the good guy without the bad guy. That’s what makes the good guy famous, is the bad guy. The good guy is nothing without the bad guy, the bad guy is the biggest draw. That’s why Floyd Mayweather and myself were the biggest draws because we were the bad guys.”

Mike Tyson Walked So Individuals Like Logan Paul Could Run

Today, Mike Tyson sees a generation of social media stars, like influencer-turned-WWE Superstar Logan Paul, taking their ability to incite emotion from a fanbase and parlaying it into success on a global stage, just as he did in both the boxing and pro wrestling ring years earlier.

“Hate is really close to love,” said Tyson. “And just as much as you could love somebody, you could always have the opportunity to hate him. And just like you could hate somebody, he’ll always give you the opportunity to love him because of how he handles his adversity.”

“When I see [Logan Paul] looking good and doing well, I always stick up for him because when he makes all the money himself, I get the credit, too,” Tyson continued. “Because without me he would have never had a platform. I don’t think he’s really that serious [about a boxing match], but I’m just happy he’s receiving the success that he has. For my ego, I feel I had so much to do with that.”

Asked if a clash with Logan Paul under the WWE banner would be enough to drag him out of retirement, Mike Tyson provided an emphatic answer.

“I would do it! I would kick his f*cking a**, yes I would do it. Even though I love him, though (laughs)” said Tyson. “This is what I found out about WrestleMania: Everybody says ‘that’s fake, that’s fake.’ But the check is real. Deep down inside—don’t let [WWE] know—I would do this for free.”

Deontay Wilder declares himself powerful KO Mike Tyson not an arguement

Former WBC heavyweight king Deontay Wilder believes he stands alone as the most powerful boxer ever.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ has always been a serial knockout artist with the power to end anyone’s night with a single blow.

In his illustrious career thus far, Wilder has stood tall with an impressive record of 43-2-1.

The mind blowing aspect of the Alabama boxer is the fact that he has knocked out every single opponent he has faced, apart from Tyson Fury.

In his wars with ‘The Gypsy King’, Deontay Wilder still managed to knockdown Fury multiple times, nearly putting his lights out in the final round of their first bout.

The heavyweight division is often considered the most prestigious destination in boxing, with countless icons cementing their legacies through many generations of boxing.

In Wilder’s eyes he is a cut above the rest and finds himself incomparable to those who came before him, including the devastating ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson.

Speaking with EsNews, Deontay Wilder said that the debate between him and any former heavyweight has long been diminished.

“It’s me! That is not even an argument no more, come on. It’s me, It’s me, it’s not arguable, and there is nothing wrong with that,” Deontay Wilder said. “Like I told Mike, as history unfolds, they say that it repeats itself, but it is supposed to be better than the past history. There is nothing wrong with that, because I love all the old-school fighters that came forward, like I told Mike, that is how it is supposed to be.”

To Wilder’s credit, the beauty of commanding his power means that even on his least efficient nights in the ring, his power has proved to construct a winning route that can not be avoided.

It is difficult to say his surreal knockout percentage of 98% will be replicated anytime soon, and with his recent knockout over Robert Helenius, it looks like the brutality of Wilder has returned.

“The new generation is supposed to come up and pass the old generation, because if that doesn’t occur that means that we haven’t accomplished anything, we haven’t evolved into nothing. This world is all about timing and patience and good decision-making,” Deontay Wilder said. “If you ain’t evolving, then you are behind, you get left behind, you are becoming part of the problem that we are trying to get rid of. I told Mike, you paved the way for me, like Muhammad Ali had paved the way for you and I will pave the way for those who are coming behind me.”

Deontay Wilder linked with bout against Francis Ngannou

Wilder has also been linked with a potential boxing clash against former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou since the turn of the year, welcoming a clash in Africa to boot

Nate Diaz UFC Conor McGregor Mike Tyson

The infamous former UFC superstar Nate Diaz was quick to shrug off Mike Tyson’s compliment Conor McGregor’s boxing venture recently.

On a recent episode of Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight sensation praised McGregor for what he achieved in his mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Conor McGregor never really had a boxing match in his life right? Never really had a boxing match. He went ten rounds with the greatest fighter in the last 100 years of boxing.”

Tyson said that regardless of the end result, fans need to remember that not only did he face an elite boxer, but perhaps one of the greatest fighters we’ve ever seen.

“He went ten rounds, scored punches on the greatest fighter in the last 100 years. Look what he had to fight against. Look what he did when he fought against it.”

Not long after videos of Tyson’s praise circulated social media, Nate Diaz did not hesitate in reminding the world what he pulled off at UFC 196.

The last time the two traded blows in a cage may have been nearly seven years ago, but they certainly have not shied away from insulting each other on social media any chance they get.

A trilogy between the superstars to settle their even score has been rumoured and demanded by fans for years, but since both fighters have returned on numerous occasions and once again departed, the chances of a trilogy continue to fade.

As McGregor carries on filming The Ultimate Fighter 31 in Las Vegas, Dana White says that an announcement for a matchup against Michael Chandler is inevitable.

It is unknown exactly how healthy McGregor’s leg is following his surgery as a result of the gruesome injury he faced in his trilogy with Dustin Poirier.

As for Nate Diaz, his last fight was as recent as September of 2022 against Tony Ferguson.

His victory against ‘El Cucuy’ was the final fight of his UFC contract, following a 15 year reign in the promotion’s roster.

Diaz has jawed back and forth with numerous fighters online, but it seems his most likely destination will end up in a boxing ring, with his interest following a big payday.

If Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor fought in the Octagon one last time, who would come out victorious?

Mike Tyson UFC Conor McGregor Gimmick

Former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson has praised Conor McGregor for utilizing his “gimmick” to help reach riches in the sport of mixed martial arts, however, believes the Dubliner’s personality is entirely just on that; his gimmick.

Tyson, revered as one of the most devastating knockout artists in the history of professional boxing, ended his professional career inside the squared circle back in June 2005, dropping a loss to Kevin McBride.

Returning to face-off with former cruiserweight kingpin, Roy Jones Jr. back in a split decision draw over the course of eight rounds back in 2020 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

As for McGregor, the former two-division UFC titleholder has been sidelined since July 2021, fracturing his left tibia and fibula en route to a doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

The 34-year-old has yet to fight since suffering that debilitating injury, however, has begun filming for The Ultimate Fighter 31 opposite lightweight contender, Michael Chandler – with the duo expected to share the Octagon at the season’s conclusion, potentially as soon as September.

Praising McGregor for his ability to earn lucrative paydays throughout his career, Mike Tyson admitted, however, that he believes the Crumlin native is basing his personality off of a “gimmick”.
