The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 contestant Sarah Moras had been out of the octagon for two years heading into her fight with No. 15-ranked Ashlee Evans-Smith on the preliminary card of tonight’s (Sat., September 9, 2017) UFC 215 from Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Evans-Smith had won two of her previous three fights meanwhile, making it little surprise she came into the bout as roughly a three-to-one favorite. But the Canadian Moras came to battle in her home country, capitalizing on an early takedown from Evans-Smith to work a beautiful armbar submission by patiently allowing the hold to develop.

Once she had the positioning, there was no question it was over, as Evans-Smith immediately tapped when her arm was bent at a gruesome angle. Moras secured a huge hometown win, triumphantly returning to the UFC while octagon commentators Daniel Cormier and Joe Rogan commented that Evans-Smith’s arm had been dislocated. Check out the brutal submission from UFC on FOX right here:

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 215 – Undercard Bouts

Illir Latifi vs. Tyson Pedro Ryan Bader with his flying knee really put the nail in the coffin by sending Latifi’s already downward headed ranking out of the top ten. Bader has gone on to become the Bellator champ since then and Latifi on the other hand has a chance to make somewhat of a […]

Illir Latifi vs. Tyson Pedro

Ryan Bader with his flying knee really put the nail in the coffin by sending Latifi’s already downward headed ranking out of the top ten. Bader has gone on to become the Bellator champ since then and Latifi on the other hand has a chance to make somewhat of a comeback when he faces Tyson Pedro. If Latifi gets the better of Pedro in UFC Fight Night 215, he will find himself back in the top ten and that is probably the only thing on his mind right now!

Ashlee Evans-Smith vs. Sarah Moras

Both these fighters have struggled with their UFC careers thus far. At least for one of them, that is about to change at UFC 215. It is not inexperience which has let them down, both these women have a ton of fights under their belts and have yet failed to showcase any real improvement. From the looks of it, the loser here could be on her way out of UFC and into Invicta. Smith has been fighting regularly but the results haven’t turned out as she may have hoped while on the other hand, Moras has had dry spells while out injured.

Gavin Tucker vs. Rick Glenn

Glenn returned to the UFC on UFC fight night 208, but his returning fight did not go the way he would have hoped. The former WSOF featherweight champ really struggled to get going. On the other hand, Tucker made an impressive UFC debut in February and will look to put on just as impressive a fight when he comes up against Glenn. This is going to be a very unpredictable match up, and we will just have to wait and see how it plays out.

Kajan Johnson vs. Adriano Martins

The infamous Kajan Johnson is back after a two month sabbatical. He was thrown out of the UFC athlete retreat after having rejected the Reebok deal. The question on everyone’s mind is if he has been training and kept himself well conditioned, or has he slipped and gotten out of shape? His opponent is going to be Adriano Martins who has been a consistent performer thus far and will certainly be a worthy challenge for Johnson on his return.

‘TUF 18? Semifinal Fight Video: Sarah Moras vs. Julianna Pena

(Props: TheUltimateFighterFX)

Last night’s TUF 18 semifinal fight between Team Tate members Julianna Pena and Sarah Moras was actually a rematch. In April 2012, the two fighters met at a Conquest of the Cage event in Washington, and Moras won by doctor’s stoppage TKO at the end of two rounds, after popping Julianna’s elbow with an armbar. (As Moras explained during last night’s episode, Pena refused to tap.)

The majority of the TUF 18 cast was rooting for Moras to repeat history, as Pena had become the most despised female fighter in the house. The Venezuelan Vixen had other plans, however. Check out the video above to watch the complete two-round scrap, which Pena dominated in the standup and on the mat. Though Sarah searched for another armbar in round 2, she found herself bloodied by Pena’s elbows, and tapped to a guillotine choke when she turtled to escape the abuse.

Pena’s victory earned what might have been the saddest, least enthusiastic round of applause in TUF history. But screw the haters — she’s punched a ticket to the Finals against the winner of Raquel Pennington vs. Jessica Rakoczy.

Sarah Moras actually lost twice in this episode, if you count her living-room wrestling match fiasco against Anthony Gutierrez. You can watch that clip after the jump.
