Joe Rogan has revealed he believes the Spotify backlash he received was a political hitjob. However, he still has no issue apologising for his previous mistakes.

The UFC commentator has received a lot of criticism on social media these past few weeks for using racist and derogatory terms in previous episodes on The Joe Rogan Experience. Rogan was originally under fire for his comments surrounding COVID-19, however now the focus is more on Rogan’s racist remarks.

A compilation video was released highlighting every time Rogan had used a racial slur on his podcast which the comedian believes was released for him to answer for his actions.

“In a lot of ways, all this is a relief”

“Because that video had always been out there. Like this is a political hit job so they’re taking all this stuff that I’ve ever said that’s wrong and smushed it all together but it’s good because it makes me address some sh*t that I really wish wasn’t out there.”

Following on from the backlash Rogan removed 70 episodes of his podcast from the Spotify website. It was only in 2020 when Rogan signed his deal with Spotify worth over $100Million, the company has continued to support Rogan throughout this controversy.

After watching the video Rogan realised the gravity of the situation and why people were so disappointed.

“I used to say it if (I was talking about) a Richard Pryor bit or something, I would say it in context,” “Somebody made a compilation of every time I said that word over 14 years and they put it on YouTube, and it turned out that was racist as f*ck. Even to me!

“I’m me and I’m watching it saying, ‘Stop saying it!’ I put my cursor over the video and I’m like, ‘Four more minutes?!’”

Joe Rogan Defends His Covid Opinion’s

Despite realising his mistake in other areas of his work, Rogan has come out and defended his opinions surrounding the pandemic and the virus itself, reminding viewers that he is not a medical expert.

“I talk sh*t for a living — that’s why this is so baffling to me,” Rogan said. “If you’re taking vaccine advice from me, is that really my fault?

“What dumb sh*t were you about to do when my stupid idea sounded better? ‘You know that dude who made people eat animal d*cks on TV? How does he feel about medicine?’ If you want my advice, don’t take my advice.” (transcribed by MMAFighting.com)

Joe Rogan will return to the broadcast booth this weekend for the UFC 271 Pay-per-view.

Conor McGregor appeared delighted after bumping into his long-time friend Justin Bieber out in the Bahamas.

The former two-division champion spotted Bieber whilst playing a game of Tennis and couldn’t resist going to catch up with the signer.

‘Notorious’ posted a heartfelt message on his social media following his encounter with Bieber.

‘I always randomly see Justin out of nowhere and just chop it up, I love this kid! Two goats on a cliff sideways, just chopping it up, what’s happenin JB my brotha hahah ? I put it up to the sky this keeps happening, it’s something from above that keeps doing this!’ God bless you my brother, great to see you always. Some serve today! ?

In what is an unlikely pairing, the two became friends after having spent some time together drinking whisky at the Beverly Hills Hotel back in July.

Conor McGregor Attends Freedom Concert

The pair seem to have such a close bond that the Irishman would be seen the following day attending Justin Bieber’s concert alongside his wife and children.

Conor McGregor shared his thoughts via social media whilst at the venue once again showing support to his friend.

‘With my beautiful family at Justin’s “Freedom” concert. Exactly how big Will Wallace woulda wanted us McGregor’s! Free!’

Bieber would also go onto put up a post himself supporting the Irishman saying:

‘Breakfast of champions. @thenotoriousmma @properwhiskey “its about how you get back up [sic].”‘

Conor is clearly enjoying his time away from the octagon and hopefully recovering well. McGregor is expected to be ready to return to the UFC by the summer and there is plenty speculation surrounding who he will be taking on. As Nate Diaz remains without a fight many believe he is being lined up as McGregor’s dance partner for when he makes a return.

Don’t be surprised if Bieber is in full support of his friend when the Irishmen steps back inside the octagon.

Is this a friendship that you expected between Conor McGregor and Justin Bieber?

Jake Paul

Jake Paul has been open to most challenges whilst competing in boxing and now it seems ‘The Problem Child’ would ‘definitely’ be interested in testing his skills against former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Speaking on The MMA Hour Paul revealed his interest in taking on ‘The Spider’ who has earned himself a 2-0 record since stepping into the ring. Silva beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. via split decision before dismantling Tito Ortiz inside the first round of their bout.

“Yes, definitely, I would love that fight”

“Interesting story, I think he was the first celebrity I ever saw. Right when MMA was blowing up, my dad was a super big fan, and we went to this local MMA event, and they must have paid Anderson Silva to come because it was in Ohio so I don’t know why he would have been there.

“But I actually asked for his autograph, and we took a picture with him. I’m maybe like 12 years old but I think he was the first celebrity that I met. So, it would be fun to bring it back full circle and fight someone who was one of my first idols.”

Jake Paul Open To Chavez Jr. Matchup

Although Jake Paul has clearly expressed his desire to test himself against Anderson Silva, he also mentioned the name of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr as a potential opponent in the future but says excluding these two fighters the list of interesting matchups gets very short.

“There’s really no boxers who have a big enough name to make it an interesting enough event that are really near my weight class or experience level,” Paul said. “It would basically be like fighting for the world title would be the only fight that would sell and I don’t even know who the cruiserweight champion is.

“I think ‘Canelo’ (Alvarez) was supposed to fight (Ilunga Makabu) but it just doesn’t make any sense. It’s my sixth fight and this guy’s a world champion. So nobody really has a big enough name in the boxing world than maybe Chavez Jr.” (transcribed by MMAFighting.com)

Paul clearly is looking to further his boxing career as he continues to look for a fight, ‘The Problem Child’ was also in the news this week regarding MMA. After Paul mentioned an interest to step into the world of MMA, Eagle FC owner Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed the promotion has offered Jake Paul that exact opportunity under the Eagle FC banner. It’ll be interesting to Jake Paul’s next steps.

Miesha Tate

Miesha Tate has announced she will be joining Celebrity Big Brother this year set to debut on February 2nd.

The former bantamweight champion was revealed in the trailer for the new season which will air live on CBS and is available to stream on Paramount+. Tate isn’t the first fighter to join the program with Chuck Liddell making an appearance in 2018.

Inside the octagon, it is believed Tate is scheduled to take on Lauren Murphy at UFC Fight Night on May 14th. Tate will be making the switch to Flyweight ahead of this matchup after spending her career competing at 135 pounds.

Tate will join a cast including NBA champion Lamar Odom and Olympic medallist Mirai Nagasu, as well as a host of names from the entertainment industry.

Miesha Tate’s Career

Tate is making the drop to flyweight following Julianna Pena’s successful title acquisition at UFC 269, let’s look at the success Tate has already had during her career.

Tate’s time in the sport started very well, winning five of her first six matchups. In her next bout, she would fall to Ronda Rousey via submission. Tate would bounce back with a victory over Julie Kedzie before losing two fights consecutively against Cat Zingano and in a rematch against Rousey for the bantamweight strap, but ‘cupcake’ would fall short in both.

Tate would come back even stronger following this two-fight skid, winning her next four fights in a row to earn herself a second shot at the bantamweight title. Tate would make this shot count as she sunk in a rear-naked choke against Holly Holm late into the 5th round to secure herself the title.

A loss to Amanda Nunes in her first defence, followed up by a loss to Raquel Pennington would see Tate step away from the sport calling it time on her career. However, Tate would make her return last year beating Marion Reneau via TKO after nearly five years away.

Tate fell short in her next bout against Ketlen Viera and will now look to make the cut down to 125 pounds but there is no denying the success she found during the earlier stages of her career in this division.

How do you think Miesha Tate will do in her debut at flyweight?

Chael Sonnen joined Eagle FC as an analyst and will make his broadcast debut with the promotion at Eagle FC 44 this Friday.

Sonnen who had a successful time competing in the cage also found great success out of it following his retirement. Chael Sonnen who is often involved within a similar role at the UFC with ESPN also has provided the same for Bellator whilst creating and delivering content through his own YouTube channel.

The promotion announced the news via their social media and revealed Sonnen would be involved in this weekend’s action, as Tyrone Spong takes on Sergei Kharitonov.

Chael Sonnen Joining Cejudo And Spencer On Broadcast Team

This isn’t the only big-name signing Khabib Nurmagomedov’s promotion has made. Prior to this announcement, the organization had revealed that former two-division champion Henry Cejudo will be joining the commentary team alongside former Invicta FC featherweight champion Felica Spencer. It’s not just the commentary team that has acquired some big names as the promotion has also signed fighters such as Rashad Evans, Ray Borg, and Bigfoot Silva.

The promotion makes its debut this weekend, although they have already secured plans for the second event to take place in March. The main event is set to be led by the new 165lb division which will see former UFC competitors Kevin Lee and Diego Sanchez battle it out.

The card this weekend also sees the return of former UFC competitor Yorgan De Castro taking on Shaun Asher. De Castro started well in the UFC with a first-round finish over Justin Tafa, however, he would then lose three on the bounce before being released by the promotion. De Castro recently revealed that he is happy under Eagle FC and for the first time in his career is focusing on fighting full time.

UFC Hall of Famer Don Frye was caught on video punching a fan following an argument at UFC 270.

It appears for some fighters that you never really lose your ability to throw a punch and that seems the case for Don Frye.

The former professional wrestler got into an altercation with a fan during UFC 270 and punched him in the face after claiming the man challenged him to a fight.

Frye can be seen on the video having a discussion with the man before throwing the punch and being moved away by venue security.

Don Frye’s Career

Frye entered the UFC in spectacular fashion. His first matchup in the promotion saw him defeat 410-lb Thomas Ramirez at UFC 8 in just 8 seconds, at the time this was the fastest recorded KO in the UFC.

On the same night, Frye would pick up two more victories over Sam Adkins and Gary Goodridge all in a combined three minutes and ten seconds winning him the UFC 8 tournament. Frye would continue his winning streak picking up three more victories along the way, before tasting defeat for the first time in the promotion via TKO at the hands of Mark Coleman at UFC 10.

Frye would bounce back from his loss incredibly by going on a 9-fight winning streak including a second victory over Gary Goodridge and a decision victory over Ken Shamrock. During this winning streak, Frye would retire from MMA to pursue wrestling opportunities in Japan but felt the desire to come back and returned to the sport and to Pride to take on Gilbert Yvel.

Frye would find success in multiple promotions, holding wins in the UFC, Pride, and K1. The 56-year-old retired from the sport in 2011.

Frye would be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2016 and only recently came out to reveal to fans he was considering a return in the hopes to take on Francis Ngannou.
