Floyd Mayweather may have retired a second time after he cashed in on the big payday of his overhyped circus versus UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor this August 26, but he’s already hinting at another return to the ring – or in this cash, the Octagon.

After finishing off the biggest star in mixed martial arts with a 10th-round TKO, ‘Money’ told Fight Hype that he may unretire to go directly to the UFC, an offer he’s allegedly already been approached with. And like anything associated with the cash-loving boxing champion, he said it’s going to be for a ton of money (quote via MMA Mania):

“You already know I’m a money-getting motherf**ker,” he said in the video. “I’m Money May. They just called me not too long ago and asked me to come back. I can come right back to the UFC. If I want, I can go, I can come right back to the UFC, I can go fight in the Octagon. I can do a three or four fight deal in the Octagon and make a billion dollars. Remember, I’m Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, and you motherf**kers love me, and I love you motherf**kers.”

Much of the discussion between combat sports fans from both MMA and boxing centered on the school of thought that McGregor would destroy in the cage in a lightning-quick display, just as ‘Money would quickly outlast ‘The Notorious’ in a pure boxing match.

We actually saw one of those things unfold, and with ‘Money’ retiring undefeated, it’s hard to see him actually risking his aura just to fight in a contest where he’s at a massive disadvantage; he’s made a career of always having each and every clear available advantage on his side.

So it could be all talk from the Mayweather camp, yet a possible rematch with McGregor could realistically be one of the most lucrative combat sports contests of all-time.

Welcome to 2017 fight fans.

Conor McGregor Promises He’d Beat Floyd Mayweather In Rematch

Conor McGregor’s next UFC remains unknown as the Irish MMA megastar continues to make headlines for outside-of-the-cage troubles such as his referee-shoving incident at Bellator 187, his rumored bar fight with members of an Irish cartel, and his night out with singer Rita Ora.

Yet to defend either of his UFC titles, ‘The Notorious’ was last seen losing by 10th-round TKO to Floyd Mayweather in quite possibly the most overblown combat sports spectacle in history. With most UFC fans clamoring for him to finally unify the 155-pound championship with interim champ Tony Ferguson, McGregor is apparently still focused on ‘Money,’ however.

He recently opened up to BBC (via MMA Weekly) about the technical adjustments Mayweather made during the fight, labeling the legendary pugilist a genius in the ring:

“It is what it is. I got beat. He’s a tactical genius in there. He changed his game plan three times, that’s the sign of a true champion. First, Philly shell, second rope-a-dope, third when both of those was getting picked at, he went Mexican style, hands up, knuckles above the eyebrows, dipped in low an just walked forward. It’s like an ugly boxing style.

“But he was able to change that game plan three times. It’s the sign of a true champion. He got the win, fair play to him.”

But the Irishman’s compliments didn’t go any further than that, as McGregor seemed to pine for a rematch (while insisting he wouldn’t call out a retired fighter) by offering the boast he could make a ‘simple’ adjustment himself and top ‘Money’ in a rematch:

“If it happened in a rematch, it’s a simple adjustment of me having a heavier sparring partner coming in, in the later rounds, and lean on me and walk me down. Where as in my sparring in the lead up to the camp, we were always against fast, twitchy, light on their toes opponent with a Philly shell style and their backs against the ropes. Never against forward pressure because he’s never fought like that so it took us by surprise and I got beat.

“If I had a rematch, I would correct that and I would beat him. He’s retired. I’m not going to start calling him out of retirement. I’m going to leave him to it. If it happens, maybe it will, who knows — I would beat him no doubt.”

‘The Notorious’ MMA champ doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to get back into the Octagon anytime soon, but he has a rumored $100 million reasons to already be asking for a boxing rematch with the elusive, undefeated Mayweather.

The out-of-control champion didn’t offer the legendary champion much resistance in the squared circle, however, and with only one professional boxing match on his record – a loss – it’s hard to believe anything would be different even if he faced the aging great again.

With Mayweather recently talking some trash about McGregor by saying he ‘carried’ him through the fight, a rematch might not be as far off a possibility as we may have thought. For UFC fans’ sakes, let’s hope it is.

UFC lightweight Conor McGregor continues to make headlines for seemingly everything but actually defending his titles.

Last night, the MMA superstar appeared at the British Fashion Awards with British singer Rita Ora, who tweeted that she was on a ‘date night’ with ‘The Notorious,’ who obviously has a longtime girlfriend and newborn son at home.

Check out the singer’s sultry get-up alongside a slick purple suit from McGregor, who’s been known to have arguably the keenest fashion sense in MMA:

It may not be the best look for the Irish knockout specialist, yet appearing at a fashion awards show is still a far cry from his alleged bar fight with Irish mob members in Dublin after he set the fight community ablaze by jumping into the catch at Bellator 187 to shove referee Marc Goddard and smack a security staff member.

Not surprisingly, Twitter took to taking McGregor to task for his ‘date’ with the famous songstress, blasting him with a variety of accusatory tweets.

Max Holloway Brutally Trolls Conor McGregor After UFC 218 Win

UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway picked up his second third-round TKO over Jose Aldo in one year when he stopped the 145-pound legend in the main event of last night’s (Sat., December 2, 2017) UFC 218 from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

After the impressive victory, UFC president Dana White hinted at a rematch between Holloway and former UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, who beat a 21-year-old Holloway way back at 2013’s UFC Fight Night 26. Since then, he’s won an unheard-of 12 straight fights, becoming one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in mixed martial arts in the process.

McGregor, on the other hand, won the lightweight title from Eddie Alvarez at 2016’s UFC 205, but was stripped of the 145-pound belt shortly thereafter and has not fought in MMA since after spending all of 2017 fighting Floyd Mayweather in boxing. Perhaps more importantly, he’s been involved in a series of concerning outside-the-cage incidents, jumping into the cage and pushing a referee at Bellator 187 before allegedly being involved in a bar fight with the Irish mob last weekend.

But that didn’t stop him from blasting Holloway after his win on Twitter earlier today as he posted a photo of “Blessed” after he defeated him:

The featherweight champ wasn’t having it, however, as he rapidly fired back at McGregor by suggesting he missed the past because he was now “retired”:

McGregor has been tabbed for a potential title unification fight with interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson, but even White admitted the Irish megastar may never fight again, and also that the UFC is currently in negotiations with McGregor on a new contract, in which he reportedly wants his own promoter’s stake.

That makes McGregor vs. Holloway II an unlikely bout at this point in time, but it’s hard to argue with Holloway’s suggestion at the same time.

Will we ever see McGregor in the Octagon again?

Conor McGregor just can’t stop making headlines for incidents that have nothing to do with actually fighting.

One day after a prominent Irish crime reporter believed him to be in ‘very serious danger,’ after he allegedly got into a brawl with the Irish mob in Dublin on Sunday nightMcGregor issued a response to those who were supposedly looking for him.

McGregor’s dad wasn’t worried about it all, but the UFC lightweight champion, who has yet to make a title defense since winning the belt in November 2016, has now angered an authority of an entirely different sort.

According to a report from the Irish Independent, McGregor no-showed a court appearance in Dublin’s Blanchardstown District Court for a speeding violation earlier today, a hearing that had already been adjourned twice this month. McGregor’s solicitor Graham Kenny, who was present to enter a guilty plea for McGregor, said he would call McGregor to come to court and the hearing was scheduled for later today.

But judge Miriam Walsh was none too pleased by the brash MMA superstar’s decision not to show up, stating that he needed to be present as he was ‘disrespecting the court’:

“I’m getting nothing but fingers from Mr McGregor, if he wants to make a case he has to be here,” she said.

“This is absolute disrespect to the court.”

Walsh also went on to say that a bench warrant would be ‘coming his way’ if he failed to show up, which was revealed he eventually did to pay a small fine:

A bigger story than his speeding ticket, which he was cited for after breaking the 100km/h limit on N7 Naas Road back in March, was his short response to reporters outside of the court, which many took as a direct response to the mob members who are allegedly looking for him.

Just another day in the life of MMA’s biggest star. Now if fans could only see him fight in the Octagon.

Reports have been flying out of Ireland that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor’s life is in ‘very, very serious danger’ following his alleged Dublin bar fight with a notorious Irish gangster last weekend, but his father, Tony McGregor, doesn’t seem to be all that worried.

‘The Notorious’ MMA star’s father recently spoke to Irish Mirror (via Balls.ie) to offer his view of the situation, offering the stance that it had grown completely out of control and that his son had nothing to worry about:

“It’s grown legs and it’s getting that ridiculous – it’s become funny. We have nothing to fear here whatsoever. There’s no one after us for anything.”

McGregor insisted that he and his family were law-abiding, and offered an odd comparison of his son’s current situation, which he views as almost total nonsense:

“We’re a law-abiding family and we’ve stayed a law-abiding family. As a matter of fact, right now I’m going out to buy my TV licence. I’d view 95% of that story as nonsense and the other 5% is overly exaggerated. And that’s it.”

Finally, Tony McGregor also heard the rumors that the Irish Gardai were preparing to approach his son with an order declaring his life was in official danger, but he also shot down that possibility by confirming his beliefs that guards wouldn’t be looking for Conor because they had no reason to.

With that established, McGregor revealed that Conor was reportedly at home with his son and girlfriend Dee Devlin as their family got ready for Christmas:

“Guards have no reason to be in touch. Why would they?”

“He’s at home with his son. We’re all just settling down for Christmas now. I’ve just got the grandson’s presents in today, they just came in from America.

“I’ll be wrapping them, putting them under the tree for the big day. That’s it.”
