In 2021, Fedor also asked for the fight. He said:

I have great respect for him [Roy Jones Jr.] as an athlete, a person, like a legend. He is one of the most outstanding boxer in the world of all time. Of course, it would be a great honor for me to perform in such a fight. I am interested in such fights. There are a few things we need to do — we need a promotion that is ready to organize such a fight. We also need to discuss the terms.

The return of the Bellator brand to England’s capital has taken a major blow less than two weeks out.

After the Professional Fighters League (PFL) acquired Bellator MMA and announced the Bellator Champions Series, founder Donn Davis outlined plans for two titles to be on the line at each of the eight events.

While that promise came through for event one in Belfast, the subsequent cards in Paris and Dublin saw just one piece of gold at stake. And although that trend continues in San Diego this week, London has now lost its one and only championship clash.

Following a lightweight title showdown between Usman Nurmagomedov and Alexandr Shabliy on US soil this coming Saturday, the Bellator Champions Series will cross the pond to stage its fifth event of the year inside London’s OVO Arena Wembley.

But just days out, fans planning to attend have received some disastrous news…

Eblen vs. Edwards Postponed, McCourt Headlines Championshipless Champions Series Card

Topping the lineup on Sept. 14 was scheduled to be middleweight kingpin Johnny Eblen and England’s own Fabian Edwards, with the latter slated to challenge for “The Human Cheat Code’s” title for the second time in as many years.

On Tuesday, however, a post on the Bellator MMA social media accounts announced that the pair’s main event has been scrapped from the card and will be rescheduled for a later date. The reason for the cancellation is unclear as of this writing.

With insufficient time to book a replacement bout with similar stakes and name value, the original women’s featherweight co-main event between Leah McCourt and Sara Collins has been elevated to the headline spotlight.

That news was met with frustration from plenty of UK fans, some of whom took to the comment sections on X and Instagram to enquire about possible refunds.

Below the promoted main event matchup, notable UK names like former PFL Europe standout Simeon Powell, ex-UFC contender Marc Diakiese, and highly touted American Archie Colgan are all set to be in action.

“lick mr balls bitch id literally hold you down and make you like my arse”

It continued onward from there

Former five-division boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has announced his latest exhibition opponent.

Over four years since his last professional bout, Mayweather will now enter his sixth exhibition bout. The 45-year-old has fought an array of opposition, from kickboxers to influencers; now though Mayweather will turn his attention to former member of the Geordie Shore cast, Aaron Chalmers.

Chalmers turned his attention to fighting following his time on reality television, making his professional MMA debut in May 2017. Chalmers earned himself a 5-2 record, picking up wins on BAMMA and Bellator before turning his attention to boxing, making his debut in June of last year.

Floyd Mayweather talks matchup

Mayweather was originally tipped to face Muay Thai fighter, Liam Harrison, but 37-year-old was forced out due to a knee injury.

I was originally supposed to face a different opponent, but injuries happen and I’m glad that Aaron Chalmers could step up so that we could give the fans what they want,” said Mayweather.

“The fans in the UK have always been great to me and supported me throughout my career, so an event like this has been a long time coming. I’m excited to add more history to the O2 Arena in London.”

While facing one of the greatest boxer ever is a certainly a tall order, Chalmers seems up for the test and happy compete against someone of Mayweather calibre.

“I’ve been training with Adam Booth in the boxing gym and I’m eager to make a name for myself in the boxing world.

“I jumped on this opportunity immediately. It’s an honour to share the ring with one of the greatest fighters of all time and I’m definitely going to take advantage of it.” (H/T Sky Sports)

Even at his age, Mayweather still seems set on boxing regularly, all be it against low-level competition and shows no signs of slowing down.

Francis Ngannou

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has parted ways after the promotion was unable to meet his contract demands.

During the broadcast of UFC Fight Night: Strickland vs. Imavov, a banner on the T-Mobile Arena advertising a Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane heavyweight title fight began doing the rounds on social media. This quickly led to fans deducing that Ngannou had vacated his belt, and potentially parted ways with the UFC.

In the post-fight press conference, Dana White would confirm these theories, stating:

“We offered Ngannou a deal that would make him the highest-paid heavyweight of all time. He turned it down. We’re gonna release him from his contract. He can go and do whatever he wants.”

This, of course, leaves Francis Ngannou open to explore free agency in the world of MMA. Two promotions have already indicated they may have some interest in signing ‘The Predator.’

Bellator MMA president Scott Coker reposted a LowKickMMA article from 2022 that focused on Bellator being open to sign Ngannou in early 2022.

PFL, who appear to be the most popular fan pick for Ngannou’s next destination, simply posted the following GIF.

PFL and Bellator do seem the most likely next steps for Francis Ngannou, although it is worth noting that only a year has passed since the now former UFC champ was heavily campaigning for a boxing match with Tyson Fury.

Where do you think Francis Ngannou will go from here?
