In light of his recent scuffle with heavyweight veteran Fabricio Werdum, now is the perfect time to address the ever-evolving question “Why is Edmond Tarverdyan the worst-for-your-career coach in all of MMA?”

Well, there’s the fact that he marched his most talented fighter straight into the awaiting counter-strike storm of Holly Holm. Or that he took a 7-2-1 heavyweight Travis Browne from contending at the top of the division to a 2-3 record in his last 5 bouts.

Aside from his in ring question marks, however, a huge reason Tarverdyan’s style is a distraction and burden to his fighters is his insatiable urge for and undeniable knack for finding himself in the headlines under less-than-desirable circumstances.

Thanks to the magnitude of Ronda Rousey’s superstardom, Tarverdyan has repeatedly found ways to redirect his fighter’s spotlight and take center stage at the forefront of attention. Obviously this is a big detriment that requires the utmost focus from it’s athletes.

Let’s take a look at the top five instances that seal Edmond’s title as the worst trainer in the UFC:

 Edmond Tarverydyan

1) Edmond Tarverdyan (If That’s His Real Name) Gets Suspended & Placed On Probation For ID Theft:

On April 2, 2015, Tarverdyan responded “No” on his Corner’s License application for the California State Athletic Commission in answer to a question regarding the existence of any past criminal offenses. As it turns out, however, back in 2010, Tarverdyan was picked up on two felony counts of identity theft and one count of resisting arrest.

After he was detained, Tarverdyan was found to be in possession of multiple credit cards, pin numbers, and social security numbers. When this was discovered, he was temporarily suspended and placed on a three-year probationary period.

The mixed martial arts (MMA) community hasn’t taken lightly to the UFC making an exception for Brock Lesnar in terms of his USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) drug testing requirements.

Lesnar will be coming out of retirement to make his return at July 9’s UFC 200 against Mark Hunt. Typically when a fighter comes out of retirement, he would have to let USADA know four months in advance so that he could be entered into the drug testing pool.

With the event being less than a month away, however, Lesnar was dismissed from this requirement. Given his insane physique, many have been rubbed the wrong way by the situation.

Retired UFC fighter Brendan Schaub recently spoke on the ‘fishy’ situation on an edition of his podcast:

“He (Lesnar) could have gotten off of them, and tailored off. Now he can fight and be clean. So I’m retired and let’s say they want me to fight; I have to give the drug testing sanction, body a four-month heads up like, ‘Hey, I am thinking about fighting.’ They will be like ‘Okay, you have four months where we are going to test you and you got to be clean.’ He skipped all of that and now he only has four weeks where they can test him. Does no one think this is fishy? Hey man, you can’t do that.”

Not only does Schaub think the situation is a bit strange, but he also feels as if Hunt should show up to UFC 200 ‘juiced to the gills’:

“Mark Hunt should be able to take whatever he wants. Mark Hunt should come juiced to the gills and look like f**king Chong Li from Blood sport with traps from here to here. F**k you!”

In closing, Schaub once again claimed that Lesnar’s situation just seems a bit off:

“So maybe six months ago he told Dana, ‘Hey man I want to fight.’ And Dana was like, ‘Cool, well listen you know there is that four-month window.’ And he’ll say, ‘Okay, let’s see how we can work around this,’ If this doesn’t signal to every human being in the world that he’s probably on stuff.”

Are you worried that Lesnar has effectively worked the system?

Brendan Schaub and Travis Browne are still beefing, and once again Ronda Rousey is brought in to the conversation…

UFC heavyweight Travis Browne will face a mountain of a challenge at UFC 200, taking on the former two-time heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. ‘Hapa’ has witnessed many highs and lows during his UFC run, earning knockout victories over Brendan Schaub, Josh Barnett, Matt Mitrione and Alistair Overeem, but also falling to Andrei Arlovski, Bigfoot Silva and Fabricio Werdum. A win over Velasquez would surely see the Hawaiian striker set for the next title shot.

It’s not only inside the octagon that’s been complicated at times for Browne, as he’s faced some adversity in his personal life too. His new squeeze and former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey recently went through a devastating period of her life following the Holly Holm loss, and of course Travis’ estranged wife accused him of domestic violence last year. ‘Hapa’ was cleared of the alleged beatings on Jenna Renee, and after Rousey’s tough times it looked as though things were looking up for both of them. Although there may still be some bitter feelings between Browne and one of his former opponents Brendan Schaub.

‘Hapa’ sent the following Tweet out on Thursday, showing him putting a beating on ‘Big Brown’ during their fight in December 2014. Where this gets a little sideways is when you consider Schaub used to date Browne’s current lady ‘Rowdy,’ and when you throw those kind of emotions in the mix, it often gets heated.

During yesterday’s episode of Fighter and The Kid, Schaub responded to the Tweet from Browne, starting at the 13:30 mark.

‘I don’t know,’ said Schaub on Browne’s recent Tweet. ‘What’s there to say? I don’t have any hard feelings towards him. What was that, like two years ago when we fought? I know (I talked some trash to him) but that was years ago. Get over it man, is it because I used to date the girl you’re dating now?

It takes a certain type of person to date an MMA fighter, given the sacrifices they have to make on a daily basis, mentally, emotionally and physically in order to earn a living and compete at the highest level.

With that in mind, who better to date than another fighter who understands what they are going through, is accustomed to that lifestyle, and shares the same passion for the sport.

In this article we’ll take a look at several examples of male and female UFC stars who have dated each other, and indeed in some cases even found the partner that they intend to spend the rest of their lives with.

Former UFC Fighter: Conor McGregor F***s Up Robbie Lawler

In less than two weeks, surging UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor will attempt to become the first simultaneous two-wight belt holder when he squares off with similarly dominant lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in the main event of March 5’s UFC 196 from Las Vegas, Nevada.

And while that may seem like a momentous challenge in and of itself, ‘The Notorious’ has actually set his sights on the next weight class up without even defending his featherweight belt or winning the lightweight strap, constantly aiming for a shot at a third UFC championship against welterweight king Robbie Lawler if and when he gets past ‘RDA.’

It would seem that McGregor is setting himself to be destroyed by the resurgent former Strikeforce middleweight champion ‘Ruthless,’ who has defeated Carlos Condit, Rory MacDonald, Johny Hendricks, and Matt Brown in his last four fights to sit alone atop the coveted and illustrious 170-pound throne. However, the two actually match up physically al ot closer than you might think, as Lawler is 5’11” with a 74-in. reach while McGregor is 5’9″ with the exact 74-in. reach.

Fighting Lawler for the belt would be a challenge that’s simply too good to pass up, especially at the promotion’s blockbuster UFC 200 card on July 9. Many will most likely be picking ‘Ruthless’ if it does happen, but there’s at least one former fighter who thinks McGregor would handle Lawler rather easily.

During a recent discussion with Joe Rogan, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub, who fell out of favor in large due to his controversial comments about the UFC’s uniform sponsorship deal with Reebok, spoke up with the stance that McGregor would “f*** Lawler up” because he couldn’t touch McGregor:

“I’m gonna say something crazy, Joe. Are you ready for this? I think the toughest match-up possible for McGregor in the UFC is Dos Anjos. I think the easier fight for him is Robbie Lawler. Robbie’s not gonna touch him. Not a chance. I think he f**ks Robbie up, and I love Robbie! Style wise he f**ks Robbie up.”

Those are quite the bold words from Schaub, who, since his unceremonious exit from the UFC, has not been shy about spouting off with outspoken statements surrounding topics from his relationship with Ronda Rousey to all things McGregor.

Yet he was more in line with the school of thought that McGregor was actually scared of jose Aldo heading into their awaited showdown at last year’s UFC 194, so now it appears that he’s jumped aboard the ‘Notorious’ hype train after he shockingly knocked Aldo out in 13 seconds.

There’s no denying that McGregor has taken the UFC and MMA as a whole by storm like no other athlete ever has, and he truly might make history if he finishes an extremely difficult in dos Anjos at UFC 196. However, without a title defense and work still to be done at both featherweight and lightweight, predicting that he would destroy a steamrolling champion like Lawler with ease might be a sensational and outlandish statement at this point.

what do you think? Do you agree with Schaub’s assessment that McGregor would become a three-weight class champion with ease?

UFC vet Brendan Schaub just went nuts on Dana White, maybe the UFC Reebok deal forcing Schaub out of fighting wasn’t the only thing bothering him…

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub recently called it quits on his mixed martial arts career to pursue his new venture of being a podcast host. Along with pals Joe Rogan and Bryan Callen, ‘Big Brown’ is starting to dance to a whole different tune, one not ruled by Reebok restraints and allegedly greedy promotions. Now free from the commitment of training and fighting, as well as the media obligations, Schaub has been able to speak his mind much more freely.

He indicated that Reebok was a big influence on stepping away from fighting, and that he simply makes much more doing podcast hosting than he ever did fighting. For The Ultimate Fighter veteran, it was just too much for too little, and his performances weren’t as good as they once were.

BrendanSchaub

As said, he’s getting more outspoken, but so is UFC color commentator Joe Rogan, who has the Joe Rogan Experience podcast now firmly popular. His contract comes to an end in 2016, and the long time anchor has said he doesn’t know if he’ll be renewing it.

All this has led to much more open discussions, and Schaub has just taken it to the next level. While voicing his opinions, he pretty much blasted UFC president Dana White as a shady ‘Scrooge McDuck.’ It’s probably safe to say Brendan Schaub won’t be fighting for the UFC if he ever does come back.
