Injuries are an inevitable part of being an MMA fighter, but while it’s commonplace to hear of bones being broken and ligaments being torn in training and inside the cage, some fighters over the years have suffered far more embarrassing injuries – and sometimes for reasons that probably shouldn’t be in the public domain!

In this article, we’ll recall 10 of the most cringe-worthy, and we should warn you up-front that some of these are pretty gruesome and involve body parts that no one wants to see getting into harms’ way, so if you don’t have a strong stomach or are easily offended, you may wish to avert your eyes now!

Waylon Lowe’s Burnt Manhood

Ex-UFC fighter Waylon Lowe was competing for the World Series Of Fighting promotion back in 2013 when it merged that he was also embroiled in a legal battle with a sex shop and manufacturer over serious damage to his manhood.

Lowe reportedly used Kama Sutra Pleasure Balm Prolonging Gel prior to making love to his fiancee, but sometime later began experiencing excruciating pain and pressure in his penis, leaving it swollen and requiring medical attention.

According to the lawsuit, Lowe was left with permanent burns and scarring to his genitals, while to add to his woes he had also been experiencing erectile dysfunction since.

As such he proceeded to sue both ‘The Mood’ sex store in Philadelphia and the gel’s creator’s, Kama Sutra Co., for more than $50,000 in damages.

However, the company later spoke out to claim that nobody had ever experienced such a reaction to the gel in over 40 years of doing business.

Bruce Buffer Responds To Nate Diaz’ Recent Callout

Bruce Buffer fired back at Nate Diaz.

It’s high time Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer responds to Nate Diaz’ recent harsh words.

Buffer made headlines over the weekend by suggesting Diaz should “bow down to UFC President Dana White” for the money he’s been paid. Diaz expectedly fired back that he ‘bows to no man’ for no amount of cash. Diaz suggested that Buffer should “get off the UFC’s nuts” due to his claims.

The announcer apparently didn’t like how his words came off as a result. Buffer tweeted a sort of apology to Diaz. He insisted that Diaz had gotten his use of the term ‘bow’ out of sort:

Buffer has changed his tune. But that story may or may not come off as credible due to how he first detailed it. Diaz was none too pleased with the announcer’s assumption he should bow down to Dana White.

But the in-cage personality claims he maybe meant something else with his suggestion.

Diaz is rarely one to agree with Dana White, let alone bow, due to their storied history. This story may not be over because of that.

Nate Diaz Claps Back At Bruce Buffer After ‘Bow Down’ Diss

Nate Diaz isn’t having Bruce Buffer’s trash talk.

It hardly a surprise that Nate Diaz claps back at Bruce Buffer.

The longtime UFC announcer recently dissed the polarizing MMA star by claiming he should be ‘bowing down’ to UFC president Dana White.

Buffer’s words don’t sit well with Diaz. He hopped on social media to blast back at the voice of the octagon tonight:

It’s the usual hard-line stance from Diaz. He affirmed he takes directions from no man. It’s a strategy that has gained him many a fan due to his outspoken personality. He’s now set to return against Dustin Poirier at November’s UFC 230. The pay-per-view event should be huge because of his presence.

However, Diaz has also begun to draw some criticism in the fight game. He is set to return, but likewise, it’s far from set in stone.

The Stockton slugger was expected to only return for his long-rumored trilogy with Conor McGregor. The press conference where McGregor’s return was also announced was a source of discord for Diaz. He walked out of it and tweeted he was no longer fighting. Maybe he wants to fight the best at lightweight, maybe it’s in order to set up the McGregor rubber match.

It seems like one thing is for certain. Diaz wants to be back in the limelight. If he’s making the kind of money Buffer claims, he has several million reasons to. MMA’s most infamous bad boy is back, so fans can only hope he actually fights.

By now, Conor McGregor’s actions that took place last Thursday following UFC 223 media day at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York have been highly publicized and many have been highly critical of the Irish star, who ended up spending a night in jail late last week.

One of those people happens to be longtime UFC announcer Bruce Buffer, who recently spoke with TMZ on McGregor’s bizarre rampage:

“Never think anything like this could ever happen,” Buffer said. “In my 22-plus years of being in the UFC and doing everything I can in my life to build this great brand and to support this fantastic sport … it’s like you sh*t on all of us – with that one move. That’s not what we’re about. Perception is reality out there. I don’t understand how anybody could condone that kind of behavior, and if they do, then obviously they will be willing to do that kind of behavior.”

Essentially, it’s assumed that McGregor arrived in New York to confront Khabib Nurmagomedov, who had gotten into a bit of an altercation with Artem Lobov, a close friend and training partner of McGregor’s, earlier in the week.

And while some have praised McGregor for defending Lobov, Buffer sees no justification for the “Notorious” one’s actions:

“As a whole, everyone has their own personal reaction, but I think it’s total disgust,” Buffer said.

“I don’t care who they are. Anybody that justifies that has a problem,” he added. “I could say something else right now, and I want to say it, but I’m telling you right now: They have a problem. I’m being very polite.

“We’ll see how it all pans out,” Buffer said. “There’s no excuse for it. It’s an insult. It’s disgusting. I mean, that’s not what we’re about. … This is something that occurred with one individual. It’s separate from who we are.”

As far as what happens next, McGregor will have to appear in court in June with his fighting future currently unclear.
